बाबाको माया
- Phoebe Shrestha - 26016, Grad ... 21 August, 2023

Time Management in Students Life
- Pratik Dangol - 27009, Grade ... 21 August, 2023

Time management is one the most important skills a person should have to make their life productive. We all know what time management is but we may not know how time management is actually done. So why is time management important in a student’s life?

As we are promoted to the next class our workload also increases. Some students do their homework day and night. It’s not only about homework but projects, presentations, studies, and many more. So without good time management no one can complete all their work on time. If a student can manage their time properly then they can complete their work on time and also have plenty of extra time but in their hand. However, the student who does not know how to manage time, will always rush and do all day night during the last moment. So it's better to manage their time properly. But how can we do so?

First of all, children should prioritize their work and make a schedule to complete it within a certain time period. This helps to do work on time. Moreover, many students keep their work pending until the last moment but instead if we do it on time then it gives us relief at the last moment. One shall take breaks in between to refresh their mind but the breaks should not disturb concentration and make one focus on other things. The best way to remove distractions is to put phones, or any other device far while doing work as many time pop ups, notifications, calls, etc distracts our mind. During free time we waste our time but instead we can do our work in that period that makes our burden less at home or will be doing work. The techniques of time management are never the same for all and all time. One shall discover their own techniques of time management according to their situation and habits.

To talk about its benefits, first of all it helps to make us healthy as due to sleeping late, stress, lass sleeping our health gets affected. Time management helps us to complete our work with less burden, relieve stress, make us healthy, etc. Not only that but it is key to our success. We cannot develop ourselves and achieve something in our life. Time management is not only important during student life but iit helps in our whole life.

In conclusion, everyone should learn the way and importance of time management to make their life better and achieve something in their life. Students are in a prime time where we do work along with enjoyment so we should try to enjoy it. For that time management is the key. Everybody procrastinates but it should not be the reason why we do not complete our task.

The Demon Noble
- Rushina Tamang - 26008, Grade ... 18 August, 2023

Once upon a time, in a land far far away, in the eastern parts of Japan, there lived a noble man who never showed his face. The man was rarely seen in public but when he was, he would always wear bulky clothes and a hat that concealed his face.

The villagers spread rumors around the village about how they thought the man must be very ugly, which is why he was covering his face. They also said that the man’s face was so ugly and hideous that it scared the demons away. Hence, in the village, he was known as “The Demon Noble”. The man’s skin was so rough and scarred that it almost looked like it was melting. The villagers would also always wonder how the man could tolerate the heat in such bulky clothes as he wore bulky layered clothes all year around.

And in fact the rumors were true, the noble man used to cover his face and hide his body because he thought he looked hideous. When the man was young, he never thought of his looks in a bad way. He never even thought that his looks mattered. He was an energetic and optimistic person. But one day, while he was playing with his friends, one of his friends told him that he looked like a horse with smaller eyes. His friend also pointed out that his skin was too dark in comparison to the society’s standards. The man went back home that day and looked at the mirror for an hour. The more he looked, the uglier his face and body became to him. Hence, he decided to never show his face and body to another ever again.

Any place or any time, the man’s face and body were always covered. And on top of that, the man was also never excited about going outside his mansion as he was conscious of the rumors that went on about him. One day, after the man finally left his mansion after 3 months as he was bored, he walked past a man washing his clothes outside. When he looked at the man, the man looked hideous to him. He felt very bad for the man as he knew the pain. But more importantly, he was surprised to see that the man was openly showing his ugly face to the society and was smiling on top of that. The man sees that the ugly man’s daughter comes up to him and hugs him. He is in disbelief thinking how can an ugly man like him have a daughter, or even a wife.

The man had reached the age of 26 and was supposed to marry at the age of 23 but had refused all marriage offers as he thought he was just unworthy of anyone’s love. But looking at the ugly man, he thought how the ugly man could feel worthy enough to have a wife and daughter. Hence, he went up to the man and asked him, 'How can an ugly man like you think that you're worthy enough to have a daughter or wife?’

The ugly man became speechless for some while and all that came out of his mouth was ‘Sorry sir?’
And again the man repeated the same question without shame.
Luckily, the ugly man was a patient person who respectfully answered the noble, ‘Why would I need to look better in order to know that I’m worthy of something? After all, my face is just a face. It cannot change my personality or my heart. I’m just like a geode, a dark, spotted and rough stone on the outside but on the inside one can never know what type of beautiful crystal there exists.’

The noble man got startled for a bit. That conversation hit him hard on the head. He again asked the ugly man, ‘How can you be so happy even while looking so hideous?’

The ugly man again calmly answered, ‘It is because this is my face, and it is just a face which I have already accepted. I have accepted the way I look, which has allowed me to be this happy. As I have learned that accepting myself helps me accept others and appreciate others. Which is also how I got my wife.’

The noble man was left speechless. He went straight to the market after that conversation and bought a mirror that he took back to his mansion. There he placed his mirror on the wall and sat in front of it. The man hadn’t seen his face or body in the mirror since he was 7. The man remembered what the ugly man had said and built courage in his heart and mind.

After struggling for about 30 minutes, the man finally let go of his hat. He finally accepted hsi body and accepted the way he would look when he looked in the mirror. But surprisingly, when he took off his hat and looked in the mirror, He saw that he looked fine, and handsome even. And after covering his skin with clothes for so long, the man’s skin had also become whiter than snow. That day, since he took courage, he realized that he actually wasn’t ugly. And the noble man finally let go of his insecurity, his bulky clothes and face covering hat and finally accepted himself for the way he is.

सपना
- Pratik Dangol - 27009, Grade ... 18 August, 2023

Arresting God in Kathmandu: A Review
- Suprabh Acharya - 27014, Grad ... 17 August, 2023

“Arresting God in Kathmandu” is one of the best books written by Samrat Upadhyay. The book is full of beautifully written stories. There are 9 stories in the book which collectively have the same genres. The stories in the book talk about prevalent problems and common activities happening in a typical Nepali neighborhood. The stories are written in such a way that the reader finds themselves experiencing the moment while reading them. Personally speaking, I found myself being lost in the different alleys of Kathmandu, inside slums and rich households, even in countries outside Nepal. I felt myself sitting on a chair and listening to the characters talk.

Likewise, talking individually about the stories in the book, the first story, “The Good Shopkeeper” is about a common topic of stress in typical Nepali households, ‘losing jobs’ and finding themselves doing something out of their comfort zone and interest line. In this story, the main character loses his job and finds himself being comfortable around other females but his wife and starting a business.

The next story however is about the great poet, Bhanubhakta Acharya but with a twist, sharing his hobbies and showing a never-seen-before lifestyle. Similarly, the stories go on and on with different plots starting from a high post person falling for his secretary whilst constantly thinking about getting together with his ex-partner. The other story is about a limping bride being married to an alcoholic man. The bride later on also shows intimacy with her father in law but it however isn’t the ‘main deal’ of the story.

“The Man with Long Hair” is a story that shares about how people can truly be confused with their emotions and feelings. In this story, a man finds himself being attracted and intrigued by another man. He finds him beautiful and interesting but seems to drift his feelings away. He constantly thinks about how he was never attracted to his wife in the first place. Then, he proceeds to be friends with the man and have his wife know and introduced to him too. In the end, he most likely thinks that his wife might indeed be his perfect pair and then the story ends.

These stories have a slow but harsh ending at the same time which makes the stories fascinating. The stories flow in a perfect way but they end suddenly. Which I think is not a problem at all. This makes the reading even more interesting and simpler to understand. It also leaves our reading minds to fill up the gaps about the stories on our own. Likewise, it makes us think about where the story might flow or what the characters might think at that moment. Then, the stories go on and on with very interesting plots that leave us shocked and amazed. Some stories even have plot twists and some are left knowingly by the author for us to think about.

In conclusion, what matters for a book to be liked by many readers is the way of the storytelling and the flow of the stories written. I think Samrat Upadhyay’s books always make sure to provide us with that. His books are a must read. Especially the book, “The Royal Ghosts” which has similar plot lines and similar themes.

The Journey of Self-Acceptance
- Roji Gurung - 26007, Grade X ... 16 August, 2023

Meyo, an 18 year old, was late for university. She wore her clothes in the rush and went out of the house at the speed of light. “Be careful! You might fall”, shouted her mom, Jane. Meyo hurriedly took out her car from the garage and rushed off. On her way she picked up her bestest friend Lily. “Why are you always late, Meyo? Please hurry we only have 10 minutes!,” said Lily who seemed to be angry. Meyo was an introvert with a lot of insecurities hidden inside her. Though Lily and Meyo seemed close Lily has always been secretly jealous of her. Upon reaching the university Lily slammed the car’s door and ran towards the class leaving Meyo alone all again. It had become a habit of Lily to behave like that. Though Meyo is angry and tired of Lily she does not say anything to her and lets her be because she does not want to end their friendship, she feared being alone.

Meyo was a shy and introverted teenager who struggled with insecurities. She always thought shy would not fit in the beauty standard and compared herself with others. When Meyo was 10 years old she did not even speak a word. She was always silent in class. One day the teacher divided all the glass into groups for a project. That's when she met Lily for the first time. Lily and Meyo started becoming really good friends after that. She would always walk, talk, eat and do everything with Lily who was outgoing, confident and was quite popular among the classmates. As they grew up Lily started acting rude and was really toxic to Meyo. But as mentioned, Meyo did not care about that. She was too desperate to have a friend.

Prom was coming soon. Everyone in the uni was excited however, Lily was excited the most. She always discouraged her Meyo from going. But this year Meyo decided to go. Lily was always busy shopping for prom and hanging out with the others leaving Meyo. Just before the prom Meyo accidentally bumped into a newly transferred girl and they exchanged pleasantries and they instantly clicked. Both Lilly and Emy were shocked how similar they both were and became friends in an instant. Meyo told Emy about her relationship with Lily and prom. So, Emy decided to help her. During prom night, Lily entered the hall in an amazing dress and had everyone’s attention. She smiled trying to act coy but in her mind she was feeling like there was no other like her. Suddenly, all eyes were diverted from her, she too turned to see who it was and it was Meyo. Everybody’s jaws dropped upon seeing her including Lilly’s. Lilly could not contain her jealousy and began spreading rumors about Meyo. But Meyo had enough of it. She confronted Lilly in front of the whole crowd. She confidently spoke about how insecure Lily made her feel despite being close for years. The whole crowd booed Lily and she ran away, in tears. Everybody applauded Meyo and she felt like a huge weight had been lifted from her shoulders. Lilly never made herself seen. Meyo and Emy’s friendship really bloomed. Emy helped her in building her confidence and Meyo started loving, prioritizing herself. Slowly she started talking and hanging out with her classmates. As time passed, Meyo's friendship with Emy grew stronger. Emy was the kind of friend Meyo had always longed for, someone who uplifted her, supported her, and encouraged her to be her best self. With Emy's help, Meyo continued to step out of her comfort zone, making new friends, and participating in various activities at university. She also finally accepted her as who she was.

The Two Kids
- Riddhis Sharma - 26006, Grade ... 14 August, 2023

Chapter-2
Among the villages Azrail destroyed, there was a peculiar one. This one was different from the other villages as in this village, Azrail killed the parents of two kids but the kids were unharmed. The older kid was 4 years old and the younger one was 2 years old.

The peculiar thing about him leaving these children was that he let them live even though he was attacked by them. And Azrail, unlike many, was a very short tempered man. A man who would kill someone if they even spoke a word against him. And these children who had attacked him were spared. Everyone wondered why. The question is unanswered even to the present.

The two boys stayed at their god father’s house which was an old building where the paint was about to come off.

“Happy birthday Peter! What do you want for your present?”, asked William.

“Thanks William, but I intend to go to school, and that would be a great present for me if you would approve of it.” said Peter.

“Well of course I approve of it, but on one condition. You have to make friends that help you through your good and bad times and you help them too. . Do not go around making friends with a bad influence on you.”, replied William

“Thank you William, this will be the best birthday present I’ve ever had,” said Peter with a big smile on his face.

William saw a faint glow in Peter’s eyes every time he got to know something about magic. He was a curious wizard. Andrew on the other hand was still too young to get into the wizarding school. To get admitted into the wizarding school, one must be of at least five years of age. Andrew was only four, so he had to wait for another year to pass until he got into the school. William and Andrew went to the school to drop Peter off after admitting him and Peter left with no hesitation whatsoever. Even though it was the first day of school for him he seemed to be happier than William had ever seen him. He had a big smile while walking away.

As Peter walked into the corridors of the school, he met a teacher who led him to the dormitories where he left his belongings and went out to explore the school. He made a friend while exploring the school. The school was very big and took Peter a long time to explore and remember. Peter was an optimist who was always happy about things.

“Welcome to the school. As of today, you will be studying in one of the finest magic schools in the realm. But as the headmaster of the school, I must warn you that there are certain rules that one must follow in order to be safe inside the school and some disciplinary actions to make you accustomed to our rituals. ” said Olivandar.

“Headmaster, you forgot to introduce yourself.”, whispered the headmaster’s assistant.

“Thank you for the reminder Lia”
“I am Lupin Olivandar. Your headmaster in this school. And as you can see I’m quite old but not to worry, I am fully capable of handling the title of the headmaster with the remaining strength in my body.” - said the headmaster in a funky way.

“I wish you all the best for your studies and without further ado, let's start eating” said Olivandar and sat down on his chair and began to talk with other staff members.

Some believed that Olivandar was sent to earth by God himself while others believed that he was a dark wizard secretly helping Azrail in his journey to absolute power.
