NEGATIVE IMPACT OF INTERNET ON CHILDRENS
- Norah Lama - 23060, Grade XI ... 22 April, 2022

In today's world, the internet has become an indispensable part of  our life. It provides us with a platform where we can create our own virtual social space in which we can upload or get information. However, it has turned man into a hermit. Gone are the days when the internet was merely a resource for finding information. Social networking sites have changed the way people think about the internet and how they use it. It's now a fantastic way to connect and communicate with people who live thousands of miles apart.

Addiction to these sites can have a negative impact on our mental health, and it can even lead to sadness, anxiety and depression. The user's trustworthiness is in doubt. On these sites, it's difficult to trust strangers. It preys on the emotions of many children and teenagers. They don't wish to associate with other people. For them, the Internet is their only source of entertainment. Other factors and interests are secondary. It has an impact on children's schoolwork because they spend so much of their time on these sites that they lose interest in their studies and their ability to concentrate. It can sometimes encourage a lot of scams.

Despite the fact that these sites have a number of negative consequences, they are also useful tools for engaging with millions of people and exchanging ideas throughout the world. We must all adjust how we use them. The only thing we need to know is where the boundary line is. It is up to you to decide how much you can trust and use these.

- Arya Tharu - 22006, Grade XII ... 22 April, 2022

- Manisha Gurung - 22030, Grade ... 21 April, 2022

- Ojeshwi Gurung - 23029, Grade ... 21 April, 2022

Myths of Goddess Kumari in Nepal
- Gauri Shreya Shahi - 23055, G ... 20 April, 2022

Nepal is a country with gods and goddess and maybe because of that our culture is much attached and even formed in relation to our religion (gods and goddess). Worshiping of Kumari is not new in Nepal, as it dates back to the 17th century or might be much older. There is evidence of virgin worship in Nepal that dates back more than 2300 years and is popular among the hindus and even buddhists. King Jayaprakash Malla, the last King of Nepal in the Malla dynasty (12th-17th centuries AD), is mentioned in most stories related to Kumari. According to the myth, he was playing the dice game Tripasa, so the King and his friend Goddess Taleju approached his room late one night. Every night, the goddess came to play the game, provided that the King didn’t tell anyone about their encounter.

One night, the King’s wife accompanied him to his room and wanted to know who the King met so frequently. Goddess Taleju was furious when she saw the King’s wife. She instructed the King that if he wanted to see her again or have her protect his country, he would have to search for her among the Newari (Shakya) community of Ratnawali, as she would be incarnated as a little girl among them. King Jayaprakash Malla left the palace in search of the young girl who had been possessed by Goddess Taleju’s spirit, hoping to make amends with his patroness, or benefactor.

There is also another story of Taleju’s disappearance. Some people say that she visited the King every night in the human form. Like these legendary stories, one of them says that the King and the Goddess discussed the state of the country while playing Tripasa (dice) and it is said that the King had dirty thoughts, or made sexual moves toward the Goddess one night. As a result, the enraged Goddess ceased coming to the palace, and the King worshiped and prayed for her to be back in sorrow. Finally, the goddess accepted to take on the body of the Shakya family’s virgin daughter.

Even today, if a mother's dream is of a red serpent then it is thought to be a sign that her daughter would be promoted to Royal Kumari. At the annual Indra Jatra ceremony, the King seeks the blessing of the Royal Kumari. This practice has changed since 2008 A.D. when the country became one of the world's youngest republics.

According to a third version of the mythology, a young girl was expelled from the city during the reign of King Jayaprakash Malla because it was suspected that she was possessed by the goddess Durga. When the queen learned about the young girl's predicament, she was furious and demanded that the king bring her back and install her as Durga's living avatar.

Kumari is now established as a prestige of Hindu and Buddhist culture, religious values. There are lots of myths regarding the start of Kumari, who initiated, how it came into action, but one thing is real that this is more related to our culture and society.

Nazi’s Treatment on Jews
- Aashrab Khanal - 22001, Grade ... 20 April, 2022

A war is defined by the number of atrocities brought on by it. Remembering the times when men let themselves be overtaken by their dark shadows, sends shivers down our spines. Of the uncountable wars in the history of mankind, the Second World War stands among a few , differentiated by the volume of atrocities committed. The treatment of Jews in hand by the Third Reich is a clear example of our capability to practice the deepest part of our twisted psyche.

The rise of Hitler’s regime is connected to the downfall of the German Jewish population. After the First World War, Germany suffered in all forms mainly economic and also from the blame put on them for the war. In the post war period, the democratic system of Germany couldn’t bring about the proper change needed. The country was politically divided and radicalized by the rise of fringe ideologies. The economic turmoil pushed people to support either the Communists or the Nazis. The Nazis approached the German populace by providing a suitable scapegoat for their country’s problem mainly the Jews. This tactic proved effective as the Nazis soon became the ruling party. Their vision of a greater and purer Germany included the elimination of all Jews and so they began their crimes. In January 1933, Germany had 522,000 Jews and during the first six years of the Nazi rule, about half of these people are known to have left the country. The Nazi rule had brought fundamental change in social, economic, and communal aspects of Jewish life in Germany between 1933 and 1939. Six years of Nazi-sponsored legislation had marginalized the Jewish citizens, driving them out of livelihood. As of early 1939 less than 20% of the Jewish population had permanent employment. The Nazi unleashed their hatred in the fullest following the the aftermath of Kristallnacht in November 1938 when thousands of Jews wereimprisoned in concentration camps and their businesses were destroyed.

The Nazi’s atrocities against the Jewish populace didn’t stop in Germany but spread throughout the occupied places all over Europe. In total, 6 million Jews perished in the name of fulfilling  the Third Reich’s Dreadful visions of the world. These types of atrocities are not just for documentation and discussion but a major aspect to understand the depths of our dark minds.
