The Kohinoor

The Kohinoor is a 105-carat diamond that was once the largest known diamond in the world. It is said that this diamond was extracted from a mine in India during British rule. The meaning of Kohinoor is, ‘the mountain of light’. It passed through several Mughal and Persian rulers in India, and eventually it was taken over by British rule, and added to their treasury, when the British Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, declared Queen Victoria Empress of India in 1877.

The story of the world's rarest and most prized diamond 'Kohinoor' reaching the crown of the Queen of Britain extends from Kurukshetra of Mahabharata to the hut of a people in Golconda. In addition to historical events, many stories and legends are also prevalent about where the unique Kohinoor came from in the world, which is crowned by the Queen of Britain. This diamond has been a witness to many wars, intrigues, greed, bloodshed, and victory and defeat. The Kohinoor diamond is the king of all the gems in the world. There is no certified information about the birth of Kohinoor, but the first mention of Kohinoor was found 3000 years ago. Its relation is said to be from the Shri Krishna period. According to the Puranas, it was Swayatak Mani who was later called Kohinoor. Describing the value of the diamond, Babar said that it is the most valuable and expensive gem, whose price is almost half the value of a day's income in the whole world.

The Kohinoor issue is very much discussed. While India is trying to bring it back, the British government is also adamant about not returning it. The governments of both countries are looking for a solution for the right decision. In April 2016, a petition was filed by India to return Kohinoor from Britain. On this, the Indian Cultural Minister, Shri Mahesh Sharma has said, ‘the issue of Kohinoor will be resolved at the earliest.’ Regarding Kohinoor, some people of India believe that Kohinoor was given to the United States by the Government of India, offered in its half form. During the petition on Kohinoor in the Supreme Court, the Indian lawyer said that the British government did not forcefully snatch Kohinoor from Ranjit Singh, but Ranjit Singh had voluntarily presented Kohinoor to the British government as compensation for the war.

"कस्तो चोर काम गरेको" ? " किन चोर्ने काम गरेको  ", "चोर नै हो यो त। "। यस्ता सम्बोधनहरू मैले धेरै सुनेँ । के म साँचाेमा चोर थिएँ ? म चोर काम गर्थें ? प्रश्नहरू उचित छन् । मेरो जवाफ भने “हो, म चोर थिएँ ।” मेरा कामहरू चोर जस्तै हुन्थे । कुराहरू लुकीलुकी गर्ने, कसैलाई थाहै नदिई गर्ने । यसको कारण के थियो ?

बच्चाको साधारण स्वभाव चकचक गर्न मन लाग्ने, धेरै खान र खेल्न मन लाग्ने ।  म पनि त्यस्तै थिएँ । चकचके स्वभावको म धेरै कुराहरू गर्न मन लाग्ने । कहिले के खान मन लाग्ने भने कहिले के खेल्न मन लाग्ने । गर्न मन लागेर के भयो ? बच्चै थिएँ म, केही घटना होला कि भन्ने डर । डर मलाई त हैन, मेरा अभिवकहरूलाई थियो । हुनत त्यो कुन अभिभावकलाई नहोला र ? मेरो चिन्ता गर्नु उहाँहरूका लागि जायज नै थियो । त्यही चिन्ताको कारण, मलाई कति कुराहरूमा बन्दी लगाइन्थ्यो । यो नगर, त्यो नगर, वाक्कै लाग्ने । भनिन्छ नि, इच्छा भयो भने बाटो पनि देखिन्छ । तर प्रश्न आउँछ, कस्तो बाटो ? सिधा बाटो हिँड्नबाट त म बन्दित नै थिएँ । रोज्नुपर्थ्यो मैले उल्टो बाटो । लुकेर चोर पाइलाले बाहिर खेल्न जाने, कसैलाई नभनी चुपाचुप खानेकुरा खाइदिने आदि । यस्ता कामहरू त दिनकै हुन्थे । बिस्तारै मेरो बानी बस्दै गयो । चोर काम मबाट जहिले हुन्थ्यो । सबैले गाली गर्थे मलाई । म बिचरा भएर सुन्थेँ । कुटाइ पनि खान्थेँ । तर जति गाली पिटाइ खाए पनि म रोकिइनँ । चोर बुद्धि मेरो अझै बढ्दै गयो । उल्टो बाटो हिँड्न पनि रमाइलो लाग्थ्यो। सबैलाई छल गर्दा, कस्तो गर्व महसुस हुन्थ्यो । मानौँ, जेम्स बोन्ड नै जस्तो ।

चोर काम गर्नेमा गल्ती मेरो त थियो नै, तर आधा गल्ती भने मेरा अभिभावकको थियो । कसरी ? म भन्छु । पानीकाे बगिरहेको धारलाई हातले छोप्यो भने पानी केही हदसम्म रोकिन त रोकिन्छ, तर जब हात छोडिन्छ, पानी अझै तीव्र गतिले बग्छ । हो, मलाई नि त्यस्तै हुन्थ्यो । मेरी मम्मीले मलाई केही काम गर्नबाट रोक्दा उहाँको अगाडि त रोकिन्थेँ, तर पछि लुकेर त्यो काम गर्थेँ । सानो सानो कुरा गर्न नि मलाई अनुमति दिइँदैनथ्याे । अनि मलाई असाध्यै रिस उठ्थ्याे ।  त्यही रिसमा बेठिक काम गर्न मन लाग्थ्यो ।
एउटा घटना म कहिले बिर्सन सक्दिनँ । म पहिले साइकलमा कतै जान्छुभन्दा मम्मी मान्नु हुँदैनथ्यो । तर जब एक दिन मेरो दाइ साइकलमा मेरो घर आउनुभयो, मम्मीले भन्नुभयो कि, "हेर, तिम्रो दाइ त साइकलमा आउन सक्छ यतासम्म । तिमी …..?
कहिले त्यस्तो हुने होला । अनि मलाई झनक्कै रिस उठ्यो । यो कथा मेरो मात्र हाेइन, धेरै बच्चाहरूको हो । झन् आजकालका बच्चाहरू अत्यधिक । आजकाल अभिभावकहरू आफ्ना बच्चालाई केही गर्न दिँदैनन् । सानो चोट बचाउन उनीहरूको सिकाइ नै रोकिदिन्छन् । मेरो विचारमा अलि चाहिनेभन्दा धेरै नै वास्ता गर्छन् । कति कामहरू गर्न रोक्नु त पर्छ, तर कुनै गर्न नि दिनुपर्छ । हिँड्न सिकाएर मात्र हुँदैन । लडेपछि कसरी उठ्ने कुरा पनि सिकाउनुपर्छ ।

अहिले त म ठुलो भइसकेँ । चोरकाम गर्दिनँ । तर, अझै पनि पहिलेका कुराहरू सोच्दा दुःख लाग्छ । सोच्छु, यदि त्यो दिन मलाई खेल्न जान दिनुभएको भए म चोरजस्तै भागेर खेल्न जादिनथेँ । एउटा चक्लेट किनिदिएको भए म पर्सबाट पैसा झिक्दिनथेँ । बन्धन नलगाएको भए चोर बुद्धि मेरो बढ्दैनथ्यो होला । मेरो केही गल्ती थिएन भनेर म भन्दिनँ तर, म आफैँले गर्दा म चोर भएको पनि भन्दिनँ । म चोर भएँ, त बाध्यताले । अब तपाईं आफै भन्नुहाेस् मलाई चोर भन्न मिल्ला त ?  के म चोर थिएँ ?

It can be classified as gambling, but an intriguing fact is that the majority of the games are free to play, and they are also easily accessible because they are designed for the mobile community and can be run on mobile devices as well as other devices. Mobile games have generated more revenue than console and PC games in the last few decades, totaling more than $85 billion, which is more than PC games and console games combined. So these are some of the strategies used by gaming companies to make billions of dollars.

नत्र काम टार्छु भन्ने कुरो यसले पनि सुन्छ ।


 

काम भनेको दिने बित्तिकै गर्नुपर्छ, 

नत्र अप्ठ्यारो आफैलाई पर्छ,

काम समयमा नगर्नेलाई समयले दण्ड दिन्छ,

त्यो दण्डलाई हामीले टार्न असम्भव हुन्छ ।


 

समय भनेको रोक्न नसकिने चिज हो । 

मानिसलाई अनुशासित बनाउने एउटा बिज हो,

The Concept of Nirvana in Buddhism

Nirvana clearly means the ‘blowing out’ or ‘quenching’ of the worldly mind's activities and associated sorrows.  Nirvana is the Buddhist path's goal, and it signifies spiritualistic liberation from world sorrow. Nirvana is a portion of the Four Noble Truths' Third Truth on ‘cessation of dukkha’, and the ‘summum bonum’ of Buddhism and the aim of the Eightfold Path.

Nirvana literally means ‘quenching’ or ‘blowing out’ exactly like when a candle's flame extinguishes. But, what exactly are we blowing out? Is it one's soul, ego, or sense of self? The soul cannot be blasted away since Buddhism denies that such a thing can exist. Although Nirvana surely entails a dramatically modified state of awareness that is free from the fixation of ‘me and mine’, it is also to be pointed out that the ego or one's sense of identity can vanish. ‘The end of greed, hate, and illusion’ is the most basic definition of Nirvana-in-this-life. Nirvana-in-this-life is clearly a psychological and ethical reality. Peace, profound spiritual delight, compassion, and a refined and delicate awareness describe this altered condition of personality. The enlightened mind is free of negative mental states and emotions like doubt, worry, anxiety, and fear.

Buddha discouraged speculation about the nature of Nirvana and instead emphasized the need of striving for it. ‘The lack of desire’ to ‘blowing out’ and ‘cessation’ are all descriptions of Nirvana in early literature. What we can be sure of, however, is that it means the end of suffering and rebirth.

In the Buddhist tradition, Nirvana has commonly been interpreted as the extinction of the ‘three fires’, or ‘three poisons’: greed (raga), aversion (dvesha), and ignorance (moha). When these fires are extinguished, release from the cycle of rebirth is attained. In time, with the development of Buddhist doctrine, other interpretations were given, such as the absence of the weaving of activity of the mind.

Who Controls Antartica?

Antarctica is the only continent of our world which has no human settlement at all. There are few stations constructed by different countries for research purposes and some researchers and scientists are living on the continent currently but it still cannot be considered as a human settlement.

Many of us might think that there is no politics here on this continent  of Antarctica but it is not correct as shown in the map above. Some of the countries have claimed various parts of the land to be their countries’ parts as they  believe that the land of Antarctica was found firstly by their countrymen. Australia has claimed the largest part of land. Some countries like Australia, Norway, New Zealand, Great Britain, Chile and Argentina have claimed lands likewise. The interesting fact is that Australia, Norway and New Zealand recognize each other's claims but Great Britain, Chile and Argentina don't recognize each other's claims because these three countries' claims coincide with each other.

The US stated that Antarctica is a free continent and no one can lay their claims on the lands of Antarctica and the US has also compelled all the countries to claim the land of Antarctica to sign a temporary treaty which is valid till 2048 to protect the nature of Antarctica. It is found from research that approximately 21 billion metric tons of organic compounds can be found under the land of Antarctica. So, it is pretty sure that the countries who claim the lands of Antarctica might have started to dig and tried to take out the gas from the grounds of Antarctica which would have surely ruined the nature of Antarctica.

So, it was really a good decision from the US to compel the countries who claimed the lands of Antarctica to sign a treaty to temporarily remove their claim from Antarctica till 2048. But after 2048, the countries claiming lands of Antarctica might try to take out gas from lands of Antarctica in the greed of money. In conclusion, claiming lands of Antarctica is not valid at all because Antarctica is the only continent with no human settlement and Antarctica must only be used for research purposes by countries all over the world.

सरस्वती पूजाको दिनमा देशभरिका बालबालिकाको लागि ठुलो  चाड जस्तै रमाइलो हुन्छ । वि.सं. २०७९ माघ १२ गते पनि त्यस्तै एउटा रमाइलो दिन थियो, तर एक परिवारको लागि त्यो दिन जस्तो दर्दनाक केही रहेन होला।   
प्रत्येक दिन बिहानै सरस्वती पूजाको दिनमा म गणेशस्थान मन्दिरमा गई सरस्वतीलाई ढाेग्थे तर कलेज जान ढिला भएको र भिड पनि धेरै भएका कारणल  त्यो दिन बिहान ढोग्न सकिएन ।  घर फर्किने बेला गर्छु भनी म कलेजतिर लागेँ । कलेज सिद्दिने बित्तिकै म सिधै हिँडेर गणेशस्थान पुगे । 
भिड अझै  पनि थियो । कुर्दै गर्दा मैले दुई जना सानो बच्चाहरूलाई मान्छेले पूजा गरेको हेरिरहेको देखेँ।  दुवै बच्चाहरूको हालत एकदमै खराब थियो, जाडो महिनामा विना चप्पल र एउटा मात्रै लुगाले कसैको पनि शरीर ढाक्न सक्दैन, अझ त्यो पनि फाटेको लुगा । तर पनि मानिसहरूले पूजा गरेको देखेर उनीहरूको आँखामा एउटा अनौठो न्यानोपन देखिन्थ्यो ।

मसँगै लाइनमा एक महिला र उनको सानो छोरा पनि थिए । कुरा सुन्दै गर्दा ती आमाले आफ्नो छोरालाई आज उसले के के गर्यो सोध्दै थिइन् । छोरा पनि खुसी भएर आफ्नी आमालाई सबै कुरा बताउँदै थियो ।  ती महिला शिक्षक रहिछिन् । त्यसैबेला ती दुई बच्चामध्ये एक जना कुदेर हामीतिर आयो र त्यो महिलाको हातबाट झोला खोसेर गणेशस्थानको गेट बाहिर भाग्यो।  महिला "चोर , चोर" भनेर कराउँदै त्यो बच्चाको पछि लागिन् । म पनि ती महिलासँगै बाहिरै कुद्दै गेट बाहिर निक्लेँ । झोला चोरेर भागेको त्यो बच्चाले सडक क्रस गर्दा एउटा बसले ठक्कर हानेर उसको त्यही मृत्यु भयो । तर त्यो चोरेको झोला उसको वरिपरि कहीँ थिएन । महिलाले सडक नजिकै त्यो झोला पाइन् , अरू मान्छेले के हराएको भनेर सोध्दा केही हराएको छैन भनिन् । त्यो मरेको बच्चाको नजिकै सरस्वती पूजामा बाँडिने बुनिया छरिएको थियो । त्यो अर्को बच्चा जसरी गणेशस्थानमा टोलाई पूजा  हेरिरहेको थियो, बाहिर निक्लेपछि मरेको बच्चाको शरीर हेरेर टोलाई नै रह्यो।  अरू नजिकै भिक माग्न बसेकाहरूले त्यो छरिएको बुनिया टिपेर लैजान थाले।

Riot Games was originally founded in September 2006 by Brandon Beck and Marc Merrial. The first ever game made by Riot was ‘League of Legend’ which was released on 27th October, 2009, four years after the company was made. It is still well known among the gaming community. Riot was originally started with 1.5 Million of funds but after the release of a First person shooter game named ‘Valorant’ on June 2, 2020, they became a unicorn company with net worth more than $1.08 Billion. Originally riot games started with 2 people only but now they have more than 2,500 employees. Riot Games also runs more than 12 esports yearly such as ‘Valorant Champion Tour (V.C.T)’ and ‘League of Legend esports leagues’. Riot Games has more than 24 offices worldwide as of 2018. In February 2011, Tencent, a multi billion company invested more than 400 Million dollars in Riot Games for 93% share and later on 16th december, 2015 tencent bought the remaining 7% of share.

The main headquarters of riot games is located in West Los Angeles, California, United States. In October 2019, Riot announced the release of ‘League of Legend’ in mobile phones to expand their player base. They also announced that ‘Valorant’ would have been released on mobiles by late 2021. Riot Games has won 3 awards in total. Some of them are for Best Company Culture and for the Best CEO. Their games have also won many awards such as ‘Valorant’ for the best esports game in 2021. It has been a decade since Riot Games launched its first game ‘League of Legend’ and has been delivering new games ever since. Riot Games also hires people through their website for a certain time as well. They mainly focus on those who can improve their games. Riot Games also offers a lot to those who make content about their games on different media platforms like Youtube, Twitch, etc. Riot Games also has offices in different countries like Japan, India, United States of America, etc. Even though Riot Games started as an American brand,  now it has become a Chinese brand as the company which bought Riot Games is Chinese. As of 2022, ‘League of Legend’ has more than 180 million active players around the globe and their peak being 36 million players every single month. Riot games is now expanding to many countries as well. They recently added an Indian Character to their popular game ‘Valorant’ and they also celebrated Indian culture as a celebration. As of today, Riot Games sits with 6.5 Million followers on Twitch and has more than 100 million visits to their website with the United States being the country that has visited their website the most.
