I was waiting at the table for my coworker to arrive. He was supposed to guide me to New York and be my superior on my mission. I had only joined as an undercover detective for a government organization a year ago but was already well-known. They decided to move me to New York yesterday, and I arrived by flight.
My eyes wandered around the cafe, taking in the warm and inviting atmosphere. Despite the lateness of the hour - around 10:00 p.m. - the place was bustling with activity. I couldn't help but notice the cozy decor, with soft lighting, comfortable seating, and vibrant artwork adorning the walls. The chatter and laughter of the customers added to the friendly atmosphere, making me feel right at home.
As I sat there, absorbed in my thoughts, my attention was suddenly drawn to the door by the arrival of a tall, well-built man. He was dressed in a smart suit that emphasized his broad shoulders and gave him an air of control. The man had somewhat long black hair, and his piercing light brown eyes were framed by a pair of glasses.
I couldn't help but notice the agency ID that hung around his neck as he approached my table and sat down. I introduced myself as Claire, and he introduced himself as Marcus. As Marcus extended his hand for a handshake, his deep and serious voice captured my attention, leaving me intrigued about who he was and what he had to say about our mission.
"The boss has informed me of a highly organized criminal group operating in New York. He has requested the involvement of our most skilled detectives to investigate the matter. This is a high-profile case, and utmost confidentiality is of the essence, Claire. Please ensure that no information is leaked. The organization is known for fraud, embezzlement, murder, and many more heinous crimes. Bringing them down would do good for this city."
"Why did the boss choose me? I’ve only been here for a year and have limited experience compared to everyone else in the field."
"I'm not sure. If it makes you feel better, I was completely against it," he said condescendingly.
"Anyway, to complete your mission, you'll need to adopt the disguise of a maid and infiltrate the organization. This is a crucial opportunity to gain access to the organization's leader's mansion and gather intel. Be prepared to earn their trust through hard work, dedication, and attention to detail. It's essential to blend in with the other workers and follow their codes of conduct to avoid arousing suspicion. Once you've established yourself as a trusted worker, you may begin collecting information and communicating it back to me. Remember to stay alert and be cautious at all times, as any slip-up could jeopardize the entire mission."
"You know a lot of words," I snickered. He glared back, unimpressed. "But how do you know they're hiring? What if they reject me?"
“The family wants a new teenage worker for their daughter; the interview will take place tomorrow. You'd be perfect. I don't know your age, but you could pass as 17. Not many teens want the job since their daughter is a bit spoiled and bossy, so your chances are highly increased. Good luck for tomorrow; you'll need it,” he said, with the same condescending tone.

Walking in the bushes with a sharp sight.
Everyone respects the fame of a tiger,
Yes, he clearly is the king of the woods.
Once upon a time, amidst the hills and the forests, there lived a young man named Jake. He was an unremarkable figure in his village, who lived a mundane and uneventful life. Most of his time was spent doing paperwork at a modestly paying bank, often requiring him to work overtime. One night, as he made his way home from work, his life took an unexpected turn.
It was a stormy night, the sound of thunder and lightning echoing through the village. As Jake strolled his way home, a blinding light of thunderbolt broke down from the heavens and struck him with a force beyond any explanation. The thunderbolt ran through his body, sending shivers down his spine, feeling excruciating pain.
Much to his surprise, he did not perish to ashes. However, something seemed strange. Jake found himself transported to a world beyond his wildest imagination. He was no longer in his hometown; it was a whole new world. A colorful spectrum of colors surrounded the whole place. "Am I in heaven?" he asked himself. Well, it was not actually heaven, but a heavenly dimension with strange creatures and a paradisiacal landscape.
As Jake explored the new dimension, he found himself with extraordinary supernatural powers. He could manipulate time, stopping or accelerating it, allowing him to make changes back as well as to the future in time. He could also teleport from one place to another just with a mere thought. It was truly a gift of God, or so he thought.
Years passed by in the dimension; Jake wanted to return to his simple old lifestyle. His extraordinary skills allowed him to explore the dimension; however, it was quite unpredictable. He could teleport right into dangerous sites just by a mere thought, facing bizarre and strange creatures. Time manipulation was equally arbitrary, and he found himself skipping through centuries in a few seconds.
Jake’s hair was turning white, eyes filled with wisdom. He built a simple home there, learned to harness his powers, made friends with the inhabitants in the dimension. Yet, his desire to return back to his old self never waned. He spent countless hours trying to master his powers, controlling teleportation and time manipulation.
Several years passed by; his relentless practice allowed him to teleport and manipulate time with a delicate touch. He mastered teleporting through other dimensions and exploring and discovering new things. A few years back, when he first learned to travel to another dimension, he faced a dangerous-looking creature in the wild. The almost twice as big creature attacked him, just when he thought everything was over, he was teleported back to the previous dimension.
Jack discovered that dying in any alternate dimension would return him back to the original dimension, which was the very reason that had brought him there in the first place. He scavenged through dimensions trying to find his precious earth. He came across other look-alike dimensions but never the one which he admired. Just when he had given up hope, he found his lovely old planet.
Throughout all these years, the planet remained unchanged; the only thing that changed was Jake’s appearance. When he returned, only a few weeks had passed by since his disappearance. His loved ones were surprised when they encountered a middle-aged man, despite only a short disappearance. He kept quiet about where he had been all these years, or “weeks.” His journey reshaped his life from a regular unfathomable guy to a person with supernatural powers.

Ever since birth, if you were born as one of the many lucky billions of kids who are part of a religious family, you have had contact with the holy being above all life on earth, with the ability to manipulate life and all forces of the universe. Does that sound familiar? Since birth, children have been taught to follow the rules of God, to walk the path of light, pray to God, attend pujas at God’s temples, and to believe in His presence. But has anyone ever thought about how concerning it is to tell a child to believe in a presence that they can’t feel, touch, or see and simply doesn’t exist to them except in their imagination?
We have been taught endlessly to believe in a higher being who grants wishes to its highest believers. It’s an 8 billion human-populated world. How are we supposed to know who the highest believer of God is and when they receive their wishes from Him? Sounds pretty convenient for the thousands of writers who write stories about God, doesn’t it? And what if God actually does exist and tells the people that He grants wishes to never speak of Him to another soul? Because this highly being that we speak of definitely does not want to show His highly self to His billions of believers. Some might want to disagree with this statement and say God did show His face to humans thousands of years ago. Thousands of years ago when the internet did not exist. Again, even more convenient, isn’t it?
We say God gives us the things we have in life. God created our past, our present, and our future. Everything in our life has already been written down by God, which cannot be changed. Which means that the highly being we respect and believe in, the highly being who we consider the creator of all life, suddenly wants to destroy life, cause unnecessary war, hatred, and break people apart, causing unnecessary deaths, unwanted conflicts, and injustice. Is this really the God we should be putting our faith in?
Then there come the stories that say God exists where hard work exists. God only supports you when you do hard work. God doesn’t grant you powers; He gives you the mental strength to finish your goals. God brings you luck. Basically, saying that if you do sweat-breaking hard work, achieving any goal, you will achieve your goals, which is undeniable but it will be because of God and not your hard work.
God has become this huge figure of belief for all of humanity. Every second that passes by, a person in this world is putting their full faith in God and worshiping Him to fulfill their needs. God has the power to bring equality, end evil, and fulfill the wishes of all His children. But why doesn’t He do that? Does He want to see His children in despair? Is that the God we should be believing in?
So who really is God? A real high being with extraordinary power? A fictional belief created by frauds? An imaginary faith? Or a source of mental strength?
बालबालिकाको सम्मान र प्रवर्द्धनका लागि नेपाल लगायत विश्वभर बाल दिवस मनाइने चलन छ । बाल दिवस विभिन्न देशमा आफ्नै देशकाे सन्दर्भसँग निर्भर भएर विभिन्न विशिष्ट मितिहरूमा मनाउने गरेकाले याे दिवस मनाउने चलन एक देशबाट अर्कोमा फरक रहेकाे पाइन्छ । नेपालकाे सन्दर्भमा यँहाकाे परम्परागत नेपाली पात्रअनुसार, बाल दिवस प्रत्येक वर्ष भाद्र २९ गते (सामान्यतया सेप्टेम्बर १४ मा) मनाइन्छ । नेपालमा बालअधिकारको सुधारमा महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका खेल्ने राजा त्रिभुवनको जन्मजयन्तीको सम्झनामा यो मिति महत्त्वपूर्ण भएकाले यस दिनलाई नै बालदिवसकाे रूपमा मनाउने गरिएकाे छ । बाल दिवसको अवसरमा विद्यालय तथा बाल अधिकारका क्षेत्रमा कार्यरत विभिन्न सङ्घसंस्थाहरूले बालबालिकाका लागि विशेष कार्यक्रम, अभियान र प्रतियोगिता आयोजना गर्ने गर्दछन् । नेपाल सरकारले पनि यस दिनलाई विशेष दिनकाे रूपमा लिने गरेकाे र बालबालिका तथा जेष्ठ नागरिक मन्त्रालयले राष्टिय नारा घाेषणा गर्ने गरेकाे छ । नेपालमा बाल दिवस नेपाली बालबालिकाको शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य र समग्र कल्याणको महत्त्वलाई जोड दिने दिन हो । याे वर्षकाे बाल दिवसकाे नारा बालबालिकामा लगानी सुनिश्चित भविष्यकाे थालनी रहेकाे छ ।
यस्तै विश्वव्यापी बाल दिवस नाेभेम्वर २० मा नेपाललगायत अन्य धेरै देशहरूमा मनाइन्छ । यो मिति संयुक्त राष्ट्र सङ्घले विश्वभरका बालबालिकाहरूमा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय एकता र चेतनालाई बढावा दिन स्थापना गरिएकाे हो । सन् १९५९ मा बालअधिकार सम्बन्धी संयुक्त राष्ट्रसङ्घीय घोषणापत्र र सन् १९८९ मा बालअधिकार सम्बन्धी संयुक्त राष्ट्रसङ्घीय महासन्धि पारित भएको वार्षिकोत्सवको अवसरमा यो दिवस मनाइन्छ । यस दिन बालबालिकाको अधिकार र सवालहरूबारे चेतना जगाउन विभिन्न कार्यक्रम र गतिविधिहरू आयोजना गर्दै आएकाे छ । याे दिवस बाल शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, संरक्षण, र कल्याण जस्ता मुद्दाहरूलाई उठाउँदै विश्वभरका बालबालिकाको कल्याण र अधिकारलाई प्रवर्द्धन गर्ने दिन हो । चीनलगायत धेरै देशहरूमा भने जुन १ लाई अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय बाल दिवसकाे रूपमा मनाइने गरेकाे पाइन्छ । यो दिन बालबालिकाको खुसी र सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित गर्ने उद्देश्यले विभिन्न गतिविधि र कार्यक्रमहरूद्वारा दिवस मनाउने चलन छ ।
बाल दिवस भनेको बालबालिकाकाे बाल्यकाल मनाउने दिन हो । यसले हामीजस्ता बालबालिकाहरूलाई रमाइलो गर्ने, रचनात्मक कार्यमा सहभागी हुने अवसर प्रदान गर्दछ । यसका साथै यस किसिमका दिवसले हामी बालबालिकाकाे कल्पनाशक्ति र आनन्दलाई बढावा दिने विभिन्न गतिविधिहरूमा सहभागी हुने अवसरसमेत प्रदान गर्दछ । बाल दिवस मनाउँदा बालबालिकाका आवश्यकता र सङ्घर्षहरूप्रति अन्य उमेर समूहका व्यक्तिहरूलाई उनीहरूकाे जीवन कथामा समानुभूति महसुस हुने र बालबालिकाप्रति स्नेह र प्रेमकाे भावनासमेत जगाउन सकिन्छ । जसले गर्दा अन्य उमेर समूहका व्यक्ति र समुदायलाई बालबालिकाका लागि सहयोगी वातावरण सिर्जना गर्न एक अर्कामा मिलेर काम गर्न प्रोत्साहन गर्छ र सरकार पनि बालबालिकाका सवालमा संवेदनशील र जवाफदेही बन्न सक्ने वातावरण सृजना हुन्छ । त्यसैले बालबालिकाको भलाइ, उनीहरूकाे अधिकार सुनिश्चितता र उनीहरूकाे खुसीमा ध्यान केन्द्रित गर्न नेपाल र विश्वभर बाल दिवस मनाइन्छ । विशिष्ट मिति र चलनहरू एक क्षेत्रबाट अर्कोमा फरक हुन सक्छ, तर अन्तर्निहित लक्ष्यहरू समान रहने गरेकाे छ । बालबालिकाको राम्रो भविष्यलाई प्रवर्द्धन गर्न र उनीहरूकाे सुरक्षित जीवन र राम्राे पालनपोषणकाे वातावरण सृजना गरी सुनाैलाे भविष्य निर्माणका लागि बाल दिवस महत्त्वपूर्ण बनेकाे छ ।
सहर र प्रदूषणबाट टाढाको गाउँमा माया र सलिना नामका दुई मिल्ने साथी बस्थे । तिनीहरू सधैँ एउटा ठुलाे पिपलको रूखमुनि खेल्थे । एक दिन तिनीहरू खेल्दै गर्दा तिनीहरूको स्कुलका शिक्षकहरू तिनीहरूको नजिकै बस्छन् ।
उसले भन्यो, "केटीहरू, के तिमी जङ्गलको रहस्यमय झरनाको बारेमा सुन्न चाहनुहुन्छ?" उत्साहित भई कथा सुन्न चाहने कुरा व्यक्त गर्छन् ।
तिनीहरूबिचमा विशाल जङ्गलको बिचमा एउटा चम्किलो र सफा झरना छ । यो हजार हिराजस्तै चम्कन्छ।
त्यो झरनाले तपाईलाई शुद्ध पार्छ र तपाईको जीवनलाई उत्तम तरिकाले परिवर्तन गर्दछ। झरनाको बारेमा यो कथा सुनेपछि मायाले आफूलाई जङ्गलमा गएर झरनाको खोजी गर्न सुझाव दिन्छ। हिचकिचाइरहेकी सलिना भन्छिन् कि उनीहरूले पहिले खाना र हतियारजस्ता सामानहरू प्याक गर्नुपर्छ । केटीहरू प्याक अप गरेपछि पौराणिक झरना खोज्ने आफ्नो यात्रामा जान्छन् ।
जङ्गलको गहिराइमा पुग्दा अग्ला रूखहरूले आफ्ना हाँगाहरू फैलाएर छाया र रहस्यहरूको भूलभुलैया सिर्जना गरे । बाटो धेरै बढेको थियो तर हरेक पाइलामा तिनीहरूले थप उत्साहित महसुस गरे । तिनीहरूले केही खानेकुरा खान नदीको छेउमा बस्ने निर्णय गरे । खाना खाँदा तिनीहरूले चराहरूको समूह आकाशमा उडेको देख्छन् । चराहरू किन यति धेरै यात्रा गर्छन् ? मायाले जिज्ञासापूर्वक सोधिन् सलिनाले भनिन्, "जाडोमा चराहरू चिसो क्षेत्रबाट न्यानो क्षेत्रमा यात्रा गर्छन् ताकि तिनीहरू राम्रोसँग बाँच्न सकून्।" उसको प्रश्नको जवाफ मायालाई अब अचम्म लागेन । सलिनाले पनि विगतमा मानिसहरू जाडोमा चराहरू अन्य चराहरूमा परिणत हुने सोच्ने गर्थे । यो विचार सुनेर दुवै केटी हाँसे किनभने आजको प्रविधियुक्त संसारमा यो सिद्धान्त साँच्चै हास्यास्पद छ।
केही बेर आराम गरेपछि केटीहरू फेरि आफ्नो यात्रा सुरु गर्छन् । तिनीहरू रूख र जनावरहरू बीच हिंड्छन् । तिनीहरूले बाँदर, हिरण र साना कीराहरू देख्छन्। तिनीहरू एक-अर्कालाई एक रूखबाट अर्कोमा दौड्छन्। तिनीहरू खुसीसाथ जारी राख्छन् जबसम्म तिनीहरू नदी पार गर्दैनन्, यत्तिको स्पष्ट र तिनीहरूले आफ्नो खाली खुट्टाले यसलाई पार गरेर देख्छन्। तिनीहरूले पानीको शीतलता महसुस गर्छन्, तिनीहरूले यसको स्वच्छता महसुस गर्छन् । नदी पार गरेपछि केटीहरू सामान्य रूपमा अघि बढ्छन्। तिनीहरूले अर्को समस्याको सामना गर्छन् जब एक बाँदरले अचानक तिनीहरूको पानीको बोतल चोर्छ, पानी नहुँदा केटीहरू झरना पखेटा गर्न हतास हुन्छन् । जब तिनीहरू थकित हुन्छन् । पानीको आवाजले तिनीहरूको कान समात्छ।
माया र सालिनालाई थाहा थियो कि उनीहरूले शुद्ध जादुको ठाउँ पाएका थिए। तिनीहरूले स्फूर्तिदायी पोखरीहरूमा पाैडिदै र माथिबाट पानीको झरना हेर्दै कालो किनारमा सुतेर घण्टा बिताए । यो तिनीहरूको गोप्य प्रमोदवन थियाे ।
सूर्य क्षितिजमुनि डुब्दा तिनीहरूले आफ्नो गाउँ फर्कने निर्णय गरे । उनीहरूलाई थाहा थियो कि उनीहरूको परिवार उनीहरूको बारेमा चिन्तित हुने छ । तिनीहरूको फिर्ताको यात्रा उस्तै साहसिक थियो तर तिनीहरूले आफ्ना नयाँ पशु साथीहरू, नदी र वरका रूखबाट सिकेका पाठहरूका साथ तिनीहरूले साहस र हाँसोका साथ प्रत्येक चुनौतीको सामना गरे ।
