Roadside

Trees sprinting past the small windows,

Luggage loaded at the top.

The roads continue without an end,

Smoke rises without a home.

Campfires are lit,

Blazing a distorted haze.

The embers fiery like sun droplets,

Fireflies prance around just as fallen stars raining down.

Laying in a hammock,

The rocking soothing sore muscles.

Underneath the stars,

Thy drifts into slumber.

Sunlight glistening over the big gushing river,

The temperature chilling to the bone.

The morning birds chirp,

The crickets do too.

The boat paddles churn,

Steering away away from the dock.

Fish hidden beneath the murky flow,

Algae covering each rock.

A day out of the bustling life,

A distant offering of peace.

Nothing gone awry,

Minds fresh and untroubled sleep.
