नेपाल पुराना सभ्यताहरू जोडिएको देश हाे । यहाँका विविधतामाथि नेपाल गर्व गर्न लायक छ । पदयात्रा, पर्वतारोहण, मनमोहक दृश्यहरूमा र्याफ्टिङ तीनवटा कुराका लागि नेपाल प्रसिद्ध छ । हात्तीपोलो जस्ता विविध गतिविधिहरू र हिमालय हुँदै माइक्रो-लाइट उडानले देखाउँछ कि नेपाल तपाईको कल्पना मात्र सिमाना हो । १५ राष्ट्रिय वन्यजन्तु पार्कमा एसियाटिक गैँडा र रोयल बङ्गाल टाइगरलाई भेट्न सकिने पृथ्वीको अन्तिम स्थानमध्ये नेपाल मात्र एक हो ।
नेपालका विश्वका मानिसहरू माझ प्रायः सबैभन्दा बढी लोभलाग्दाे देखिन्छ । यसमा कुनै शङ्का छैन कि नेपाललाई अद्वितीय बनाउने कुराको एउटा महत्त्वपूर्ण अंश यहाँका विभिन्न जातजातिहरूको चलन र आतिथ्यता हो । काठमाडौँ उपत्यकाको पुरानो महानगर होस् वा टाढाका पहाडी गाउँहरू, मध्यकालिन पहाडी सहरहरू सबै लोभलाग्दा छन् । नेपालमा जति चाडपर्व मनाउने संसारमा अरू कुनै पनि देश छैनन् । वर्षमा जति दिनहरू हुन्छन्, त्योभन्दा बढी त नेपालमा चाडपर्वहरू छन् ।
नेपालको अर्थतन्त्रको प्रमुख आधार भनेको पर्यटन हो । थप यो आम्दानी र विदेशी मुद्राको एक महत्त्वपूर्ण स्रोत हो । विश्वका शीर्ष १० हिमालमध्ये आठको घर भएकाले नेपाल पर्वतारोही, चट्टान आरोही र साहसीहरूको लागि लोकप्रिय गन्तव्य हो । नेपालको हिन्दु, बौद्ध र अन्य सांस्कृतिक सम्पदास्थलहरू साथै यसका वर्षभरि नै रमाइलो मौसम छ।
विश्वको सबैभन्दा अग्लो हिमाल सगरमाथाको घर र बुद्धको जन्मस्थल लुम्बिनी दुवै नेपालमा छन् । पर्वतारोहण र अन्य साहसिक पर्यटन गतिविधिहरू पनि नेपाललाई चिनाउने र पर्यटनका महत्त्वपूर्ण आधार हुन् । त्यसैले पर्यटन नेपालकाे मुख्य आम्दानीकाे आधार हाे ।
Two of the biggest names in the field of computers today are Microsoft and Apple, both in making computers and programming different types of software. These companies are still at the height of their success even after decades of their original foundation.
In the movie or documentary "Pirates of the silicon valley" we see the stories of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs and how they started their companies Microsoft and Apple respectively. The drama or docudrama was directed by Martyn Burlie and was originally released on June 20, 1990 in the US. In this docudrama the role of Steve Jobs is being played by Noah Wyle and the role of Bill Gates is played by Anthony Michael Hall along with these two other important names from the cast are Joey Slotnick, John DiMaggio and J.G Hertzler. And the docudrama was produced by the Production Company Haft entertainment and St. Nick productions.
In the first few frames of the docudrama we can see Steve Jobs speaking with a director about the creation of an advertisement for the Apple computer which would introduce the first ever Macintosh. Then in the next scene we see Steve Jobs announcing a new deal with Microsoft or Bill Gates at the 1997 MacWorld Expo with a picture of Bill Gates in the background. The announcement is met with boo's and criticism from the crowd. After which the movie turn into flashbacks of the youthful days of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates.
The story takes us to 1971 in Berkeley during the periods of the student anti-war movements, where Steve Jobs and his friend Wozniah are escaping away from the anti-war movement as the students were rioting and clashing against the police. Jobs proceeds to criticize the movement.Similarly' on the other hand we see a young Bill Gates at Harvard University, in the early 1970s' Bill Gates heard about the existence of Ed Roberts MITS Altair he decided to drop out of Harvard. Bill and Allen's early work with Ed Roberts MITS Altair was similar to Jobs and Wozniacks work with the Homebrew Computer Club.
After this Jobs and Wozniach founded the Apple Computer in the garage of Job's family home. After a while Mike Makkula invested in the company which allowed the company to expand out and move forward. And in 1977, they demo the Apple II at the West Coast Computer Faire. And this event is followed up by Gates and Allen developing the IBM-PC in 1981. Following this revealed a new computer named Lisa and in 1984 announced another computer, the Macintosh. Both of these computers were inspired by Xerox Alto.
The movie ends in 1997, leaving us with a strong back-story about the two of the biggest tech companies in the world started with nothing but ideas and innovation.
I strongly recommend this movie for people who are interested in doing business or are interested in learning the ways of success. Upon watching this movie, I really felt motivated to do something. So, I started doing something that a student can do, that is studying for success.
हामी विज्ञान र प्रविधिको आधुनिक युगमा बाँचिरहेका छौँ । विगतका वर्षहरूमा वैज्ञानिकहरूले धेरै अद्भूत चीजहरू आविष्कार गरेका छन् । जसले मानव प्रगतिका लागि निकै सहयोग पुर्याएका छन् । आश्चर्यजनक रूपमा ती आविष्कारले आराम र विलासिता पनि बढाएका छन् । विज्ञानकै कारण विगतमा असम्भव भनिऐका कुराहरू पनि अहिले आएर सजिलै सम्भव भएको देख्न सकिन्छ।
मानिसहरूले विज्ञान र प्रविधिकै सहयोगले अज्ञानताबाट पर्दा हटाएर नयाँनयाँ कुरा आविष्कार गरी विभिन्न क्षेत्रहरूमा आफ्नो सफलता देखाएका छन् । आज हामीसगँ बस, कार, जहाज आदि जस्ता द्रुत यातायातका साधनहरू छन् जसकाे सहयोगले हामी थोरै समयमा धेरै टाढा जान सक्छौँ । त्यसैगरी मोबाइल, टेलिफोन जस्ता साधनले हामीलाई विभिन्न ठाउँमा भएका मानिसहरूसगँ सजिलै सम्पर्क गर्न सक्ने बनाएका छन् यो सब विज्ञानकै चमत्कार हो । यति मात्र नभएर इन्टरनेट जस्तो सुविधाले मानिसको साधारण जीवनमा परिवर्तन ल्याएको छ । विज्ञान अद्भूत औषधीहरू तयार गर्ने एउटा आधार बनेको छ । जसले हामीलाई तत्काल राहत दिन्छ र धेरै खतरनाक र घातक रोगहरूबाट लडेर जित्न मद्दत गर्छ ।

विज्ञानको अभावमा मानव जीवन लगभग ढुङ्गे युगमा पुग्न जान्छ । जुन आधुनिक युगसँग तुलना गर्दा निकै असुविधाजनक छ । विज्ञानको कुनै एउटै क्षेत्रमा मात्र फाइदा नभएर विभिन्न क्षेत्रमा यसका फाइदा देखिएका छन् ।
Words can inspire, words can destroy. What is really powerful about the words? Does the use of words make any difference in our daily life? If so, why are we not using this powerful weapon for our benefit properly? These questions can arise in our minds, but the only answer is Yes. Words are the real power that we have in our lives which can make us superior but demolish us as well. It is a well-known fact that every smile of the world comes with prosperity. People have to go through many obstacles and difficult times which might tend to use pessimistic words. In this traumatized situation we should be careful because the words can lead to various major problems. The use of words must be wise so that people being affected by the physical or mental stress would not lead him/her to the worst possible way out.
The emotions we feel, the activities we do, observe, and the quality that we have to interact with everyone are all controlled by language, and language is controlled by words. Smiles of people embellish their faces. We all know that words judge the character of a person so people speaking pessimistically will engulf others with their negativism. The words that come out of mouths determine the happiness and unhappiness of the person. Words have the ability and power to heal, help, hurt, and abuse. In hard times, rather than complaining, it is better to think positively and focus on words that disseminate positivity throughout. We can see that the right words create a clear difference in our life compared to the other ones.
Once words have been voiced, they can't be taken back so using proper words can provide effective propulsion into anyone’s life. The words we speak can often help in selecting and fulfilling our future dreams. Words have a different kind of power whatever it says, it helps to control and calm someone's emotion and helps see the matter from a different perspective.
Thus, we must not ignore the fact that words do have an impact on you and others in daily life. They express positive feelings and share knowledge that can change someone completely and inflame a spark in them.
महिनावारी मासिक रूपमा महिलामा हुने यस्तो प्रक्रिया हो जसमा पाठेघरले योनिबाट रगत बहाउँछ । यो एक प्राकृतिक मानव प्रक्रिया हो । यो प्रजनन उमेरका केटी र महिलाहरूको लागि एक प्राकृतिक र स्वस्थ प्रक्रिया हो । यो सामान्यतया २ देखि ८ दिनसम्म रहन्छ। यो व्यक्तिअनुसार फरक हुन्छ । यस समयमा महिलाहरूलाई धेरै हेरचाह चाहिन्छ । तर हाम्रो देशको सन्दर्भमा उनीहरूले भेदभाव र अमानवीय व्यवहारको सामना गर्नु परेको देखिन्छ ।
नेपालमा महिनावारीको सामाजिक अर्थ अपवित्रता हो । उनीहरूले यस समयमा घरका अरू सदस्यलाई छुन नपाउने चलन छ । यति मात्र नभएर कति अविकसित ठाउँहरूमा यो बेला महिलाहरूलाई छाउगाेठमा राख्ने गर्छन् । छाउपडी भनेको साना झुपडीहरू हुन् । यस्ता कुप्रथाले हाम्रो समाजमा जरा गाडेका छन् । यस समयमा महिलाहरू अपवित्र र फोहोर हुन्छन् भन्ने विश्वास छ । यस्ताे समयमा उनीहरूले उचित खाना, पानी, बास पाउँदैनन् । त्यसैले उनीहरू भोकमरी, सर्पको टोकाइ, जनावरको आक्रमण आदिको सिकार हुन्छन् । छाउपडीमा बस्ने युवतीमाथि बलात्कार र कुटपिटका घटना पनि धेरै सुनिन्छन् ।
नेपालकाे ग्रामीण क्षेत्रको तुलनामा सहरको अवस्था निकै राम्रो छ । छाउपडी जस्ता प्रथाहरू सहरमा देखिँदैन । तर यो समयमा महिलाहरूले भेदभाव सहनुपर्छ । धेरै जस्तो घरहरूमा महिलाहरूलाई भान्सामा र मन्दिरमा जाना नदिने चलन छ । विगतमा महिलाहरूसँग उचित सेनेटरी प्याडहरू थिएनन् र जताततै रगत बगिरहेको हुन्थ्यो, त्यसैले उनीहरू भान्सामा जान पाउँदैनथे तर, अहिले यसलाई अन्धविश्वासमा परिणत गरी अपवित्र मानिन्छ।
महिनावारी महिलाहरूकाे प्राकृतिक प्रक्रिया हो । यस समयमा महिलाहरूलाई भेदभाव गर्नु हुँदैन । यस समयमा उनीहरूलाई थप हेरचाह, पोषक तत्त्व र मद्दत चाहिन्छ । यस समयमा महिलाहरूलाई आरामकाे आवश्यकता पर्छ । उनीहरूले यसमा लाज मान्नु हुँदैन । महिनावारी र सरसफाइको बारेमा जानकारी हुनु अति आवश्यक छ । युवा अवस्थाका केटीहरूलाई यसको बारेमा पर्याप्त ज्ञान हुनुपर्छ किनकि तिनीहरू नडराऊन् यसलाई सहजै लिन सकून् । अहिलेकाे २१औँ शताब्दीमा महिनावारी जस्ता प्राकृतिक प्रक्रियाका लागि कुनै पनि महिलालाई भेदभाव र दुर्व्यवहार गर्नु हुँदैन । महिलाहरूको महिनावारीमा सुरक्षित र सहज वातावरण सिर्जना गर्नु हामी सबैकाे दायित्व हो ।
You feel like an extra character of a novel who already has their future written in a paper. Each day you feel like you are waking in a dream and your life isn’t actually real. You start questioning yourself if you are even real. You start losing your self esteem seeing all the cool people on the internet and start basing your whole personality off of them because you don’t feel good about your current self. You aspire to be like them, live like them and become them. You make their personality yours and people comment about how you’ve changed yourself for the better. You feel good about it but you fail to notice that you’ve lost you. Once you notice it you start feeling pathetic about yourself. You try to please everyone with a smile and mask your true feelings. Then you begin to question yourself if what you are feeling is truly what you are feeling or is it something you are pretending and imitating from someone else’s personality. You look at yourself in the mirror and are very estranged from yourself. You don’t recognize yourself. When you say your name you feel like your name doesn’t belong to you. You feel ugly and miserable but you still continue what you were doing. Everything you want to do makes you question whether you really want to do it or it’s because you saw other people do it. You lose touch with yourself. You start questioning yourself and your reality. Then this vicious cycle continues again and each time you lose yourself more and more. You lose self esteem and confidence while trying to be validated as the people you see on the internet. You start to hate everything and then you ask yourself if you really hate everything or if it was just a personality trait of someone you read or watched about. You fail to remember what your personality was originally like. You go through a surge of negative emotions and you begin to hurt yourself and your loved ones. You remember your childhood self and feel so disappointed. Now how do you find your lost se—
“So professor, how do I find my lost self?” I asked the guest professor who had visited our university to give us students a lecture. The professor chuckled at my question.
“Just get off social media and go to a therapist!” He said while laughing.
There was then a surge of laughter. Every student was amused by his answer because they had expected an actual solution. While the students were laughing, the professor sighed with a smile on his face and his eyebrows whimpered. Just then the Professor got a phone call. It looked urgent seeing his face all shocked and he concluded his lecture. “And that is what it feels like to have an identity crisis. Well then— Goodbye” He said with a smile. The lecture was not completed and a lot of students weren’t satisfied with his unfinished lecture including me. I was disappointed in getting a half hearted answer but I didn't fret much about and headed to my next class. Till this day I regret interrupting him while he was talking. Maybe then I could’ve got my answer.
‘राज्य’ र ‘नीति’ शब्दको संयोजनले ‘राजनीति’ शब्द बनेकाे हो । राजनीति भनेकै राज्य चलाउने नीति हो । कुनै पनि राज्य तथा देश फस्टाउन र विकास हुनमा त्यस देशको राजनीतिको ठुलो भूमिका हुन्छ । यही कारण राजनीति असल हुन महत्त्वपूर्ण हुन्छ । आज संसारमा अमेरिका, बेलायत र रुसजस्ता अन्य देशहरू शक्तिशाली भएको मुख्य कारण पनि ती देशका अटुट राजनीतिक स्थापनाहरू हुन् । कुनै पनि मुलुकको अर्थतन्त्र, शिक्षा र अरू क्षत्रको अवस्था पनि त्यस देशको राजनीतिमै निर्भर रहन्छ । त्यसैले राजनीतिक क्षेत्रमा युवाहरूको रुचि हुन जरुरी छ । राजनीतिमा युवाहरूको सक्रिय संलग्नता भएमा देश विकाशको गति छिटो सम्पन्न हुन सक्छ।
युवाहरूमा देश चलाउन सक्ने ऊर्जा, योग्यता र नेतृत्व हुन्छ । यी सबै विशेषताहरू देशका नाबालिग नागरिक र जेष्ठ नागरिकहरूसँग हुँदैन । युवाहरूसँग देश विकाशका लागि विभिन्न विचारहरू हुन्छन् । यदि उनीहरूले आफ्ना विचारहरूको कार्यन्वयन गराउन एउटा सही अवसर पाएमा जुनसुकै देशले ठुलाे उचाइ छुन सक्छ । यो हाम्रो समाजको लागि राम्रो मात्र हैन, आवश्यक पनि छ । युवाहरूले अहिलेदेखि नै राजनीतिमा रुचि नदेखाएमा आउने पुस्तहरूले देश धान्न गाह्रो हुने निश्चित नै छ । यस कारण देश विकाशको लागि मात्र नभएर भविष्यमा देशको अस्तित्व र सुरक्षाका लागि पनि राजनीतिमा युवाहरूको संलग्नता सोचेभन्दा बढी महत्त्वपूर्ण छ ।
नेपालमा हेर्ने हो भने राजनीतिमा युवाहरूको संलग्नता केही वर्ष अघि थोरै मात्र थियो । तर पछिल्लो वि.सं. २०७९ मा भएको स्थानीय तहको निर्वाचनमा युवाहरूको बढ्दो संलग्नताले नयाँ मोड लिएको छ । देशका विभिन्न जिल्लाका विभिन्न क्षेत्रमा युवाहरू स्वतन्त्र उमेद्वार भएर चुनावमा संलग्न भएका छन् । यसले नेपालमा युवाहरूको राजनीतिप्रति रुचि बढ्दै गएको देखाउँछ । नेपालमा पहिलेदेखि नै नागरिकहरू सही उम्मेदवार छान्नमा धेरै गल्तीहरू गर्दै आएका छन् । केही युवाहरू स्वतन्त्र उम्मेदवारका रूपमा कुनै पार्टीसँग संलग्न नभई चुनावमा उठ्छन् तर ठुला पार्टीहरूसँग जुध्न सक्दैनन् । युवाहरू पनि राजनीतिमा संलग्न भएमा उनीहरूमा एक नयाँ चेतनाको सिर्जना हुन्छ। यस्तो चेतनाको सिर्जना भएमा इमानदार उम्मेदवारहरू निर्वाचित हुन सक्छन् र देश सम्पन्न बन्न सक्छ।
जनताले पहिलेदेखि चिनेजानेका उमेद्वारहरूभन्दा पनि देशको सेवा गर्न अगाडि सरेका युवाहरूलाई मत दिनुपर्छ । मानिसमा जतिसुकै आत्मविश्वास र आँट भए पनि यदि उसको समर्थन कसैले नगरेमा त्यो मानिस कुनै न कुनै मोडमा ठोक्कर खान निश्चित हुन्छ । त्यसैले सबै जनताले देशको निमित्त केही गर्छु भनेर उमेद्वार भएको युवालाई सहायता गर्नुपर्छ । सरकारले पनि युवाहरू राजनीतिमा संलग्न हुनका लागि सजिलो र सरल पद्धति बनाइदिएमा युवाहरू राजनीतिमा संलग्न हुन अझ प्रोत्साहित हुन सक्छन् । रेडियो तथा टेलिभिजनमा ठुला ठुला राजनीतिक नेतामात्र नभई सफल हुन नसकेका युवा नेताहरूको बारेमा पनि प्रचारप्रसार गरिएमा युवाहरूमा एउटा नयाँ परिवर्तन ल्याउने सिर्जना हुन सक्छ ।
तसर्थ, देशको विकाश र देशको भविष्यका लागि राजनीतिमा युवाहरूको उपस्थिति आवश्यक छ । प्रत्यक्ष रूपमा सहभागी हुन नसके पनि युवाहरूले राजनीतिमा भैरहेका परिवर्तनहरूको बारेमा जानकारी लिनुपर्छ । यो हरेक युवाको जिम्मेवारी हो । आफ्नो देशको समस्या समाधान गर्न आफैँ संलग्न हुनपर्छ भन्ने भावना हरेक युवासँग भएमा राजनीति सरल र लाभदायक बन्न सक्छ । राजनीतिमा युवाहरूको पर्याप्त संलग्नता भएमा भविष्यमा नयाँ नेपालको सिर्जना हुनेछ।
The Guggenheim Museum selected Can't Help Myself, its first robotic piece, in 2016. The piece was made by two of China's most renowned artists, Sun Yuan and Peng Yu, and is represented as a robotic arm with a single, eternal purpose,to keep the constantly flowing, deep-red liquid that resembles blood from straying too far. The robot repeatedly moves the liquid back into place by dragging its cleaner across the floor in precise, almost dance-like movements, never appearing to stop. The robot leaves stains of the liquid on the floor, the walls, and even itself in an attempt to clean up the growing mess, but this only makes things worse. This caused the robot to significantly slow down, and in 2019, it was disconnected as a result. In the end, the robot was powerless to resist.
The art piece unexpectedly went viral in November 2021 on the well-known video-sharing app TikTok. Short videos of the robot arm attempting to carry out its lifelong task were occasionally viewed more than 50 million times and led viewers to have significant emotional responses. Users felt really sorry for the robot and its completely meaningless existence since its previously fluent movements had become rusty over time. It looks so tired and unmotivated," and "Why can't we just let it rest?" were among the countless and widely liked comments.

Most of their works, which are frequently seen as being quite aggressive and provocative, deal with issues related to death, perspective, and the human experience.
One may say that the robot Can't Help Myself encourages us to think about topics like monitoring, border control, and autocracy. The artwork "is intended to reflect governments' attempts to use equipment and technological advancements in the field of science in order to preserve themselves and their country," according to Tara McCullough (2020). Governments in autocratic nations employ equipment and try to cut surveillance technologies to prevent citizens from fleeing those nations. In Can't Help Myself, the robot stands in for these governments, and the blood-like liquid for the citizens who, after trying to flee, are forced back into their conservative communities. The artwork also portrays the suffering faced by immigrants who are turned away and sent back to their country of origin by governments maintaining its borders. Immigrants desire so badly to start a new life in a foreign country. As the robot completes its duty, smudges of a substance that resembles blood are left behind, representing the violence that takes place in border regions.
777 Charlie is a recently released Kannada-language adventure, drama film written and directed by Kiranraj K. The titular character is a labrador dog named Charlie. The movie stars Rakshit Shetty alongside Sangeetha Sringeri, Raj B. Shetty, Danish Sait, and Bobby Simha. The story follows a lonely factory worker and a stray labrador dog on their trip and bonding.
The movie begins with a labrador dog escaping from a breeder’s house where many dogs have been tormented, tortured, and caged. The dog makes its way through several places eventually reaching the colony where Dharma resides. Dharma is a loner who doesn't have any family or relationships living all alone in a gloomy house. All his colleagues and the neighbors fear him and he doesn't socialize with anyone. He liked to watch Charlie Chaplin films in his home. His everyday life only goes like “Home Factory Fighting Idli Cigarette Beer” as shown in the trailer itself. He does nothing but work every day and gets into fights and consumes cigarettes and beer every day. The only source of food for him is a small Idli Stall owned by an old couple and he seems to be their daily customer the gentle granny figure old woman always gives him extra idli even when he doesn't want it with a gentle smile. That is his everyday life. He lost his parents and his sister in a car accident at a young age and has been living alone ever since. Neither does he socialize with anyone nor does he seem to have a cheerful personality. That is how his life has been up till now.
One day, the labrador dog while trying to get his attention from Dharma gets into a road accident. He doesn't seem to care much at first but after seeing how Charlie treats his dog on the T.V, Dharma takes the dog to the veterinary and treats the dog. Dharma wants nothing to do with the dog but because he has no other choice he has to keep the dog in his home until he gets to be adopted by another family. The labrador dog gives Dharma a lot of trouble every day, considering the fact that there are no dogs allowed in the colony he resides in. After quite some time he seems to have grown close to the dog but is still not very fond of taking care of the pup as his own. But one day, Dharma faints and has to be rushed to the hospital. The dog follows him to the hospital worrying about him. Dharma sees this and finally feels the love the dog has for him. Since then, the bond between Dharma and the dog grows deeper and stronger and he names her Charlie as well. The movie then goes on to explore the adventures of Dharma and Charlie and the ups and downs that occur in the movie. The movie displays the emotions of someone who has received happiness from meeting someone and the sadness from losing their loved ones very clearly.
The movie portrays the growing bond between the man and the dog beautifully. Even the music and cinematography never fail to amaze me. It's so simple yet Charlie manages to make it seem entertaining and cheerful with how lovely of a dog she is. This movie will definitely reach out to the people who own pets and especially those who have a deep relationship with their pets. I personally don't own my own pet but while watching the movie I also felt the emotions flowing through the screen along with everyone watching the movie in the hall. The character development of one when they get to meet the right person/being is immense, especially in this movie. One single meeting can change someone's life forever. Even though the first meeting might not seem so special, meeting and spending time with the right person at the right time can bring all the happiness in the world to anyone. This movie has portrayed the relationship between Man and Dog and all the other animals who are no less than humans. They have feelings too, they have their own wonderful life, and they help us stay happy and heal us when we’re hurt. This movie is a must-watch for all people from kids to adults. The emotions this movie brings cannot be expressed in words and for me personally, this has to be one of the best movies I have watched.

Imagine I came up to you and said that I have the power to convert the place you’re living at right now into rubble and dust. I say that I have the power to turn everything you see around you into absolute nothingness in a matter of seconds. What if I told you that I have a device that mimicked the heat of the sun, and the winds of neptune?
One click of a finger and everything would be gone, vapourized. It would be like dropping a bit of water onto a hot stove. A mere sizzle and nothing left. The person who just walked past you, the home that you live in, all the people in the area, your beloved pet, your belongings, and most importantly, you, yourself would cease to exist, in a matter of moments.
What would your reaction be? Would you be intrigued ? Would you believe me and be frightened? I’d say that would be very unlikely. Most probably you would burst into a hysterical laugh and question the mere existence of such a thing. To put it plainly, the truth is, we do possess devices as such, and they can unleash frightening amounts of chaos, and they are nuclear devices.
So what is a nuclear bomb and why should you bother?
Nuclear bombs get their name from the two words “Nuclear” and “Bomb” , the word bomb is pretty self explanatory, as it generally denotes an explosive. The word Nuclear denotes that it works by the process of nuclear reaction, which includes nuclear fission or fusion. In fusion, two lighter atoms fuse together into heavier nuclei, with the release of energy. Fission, on the other hand, a heavy atom is split into heavier atoms again,with the release of energy. This is the same process by which the Sun produces its energy.
The factor that separates a nuclear bomb from a conventional explosive is it’s far greater blast radius and damage overall. A nuclear bomb can be many thousands or millions of times more powerful than the largest conventional detonations we could ever do. For perspective, about 64 kilograms of uranium was used in the bomb which was released over Hiroshima. It had a 16 kiloton yield which implies that it was equivalent to 16,000 tonnes of TNT. Imagine blasting 16 million kilograms of TNT. That would not be possible in any way. It is literally impractical, but when we factor in nuclear weapons, that job becomes way easier with just 64 kilograms of uranium.
The result? 80,000 people killed by the explosion itself; tens of thousands more would later die due to the hazardous levels of radiation. But wait.., that;s not all. The 64 kg of uranium was what was packed in the bomb. Reports claim that only 1.38% of the uranium actually fissioned in the blast. The rest did not have a chance to fission, it was already blown away before that could happen.
We can think of devices that can unleash hell in just seconds, but we can’t think of working out our differences and stopping such a threat. The danger of nuclear war is still looming around us, and with the recent invasion of Ukraine, it is looking more likely than ever. Sadly, the only thing we can realistically do is ask for reform and nothing else.
