Scroll paintings also known as Paubha Chitra or Patachitra in Kathmandu valley and Thanka in the Northern region of Nepal are drawn on cloth. The paintings made on cloth have a distinct place in the Nepalese paintings.
It is further classified into Pata and Mandala. In Pata painting, the picture of the main God is made at centre with other deities surrounding it. In Mandala painting, a symbol of an object like Swastika and others is made at centre and other deities are made around it.
The size of scroll paintings is bigger than book painting. A scroll painting is full of various artistic designs which contain natural scenes such as flowers, vines, rivers, hills, clouds, trees, animals etc.
There is a trend of making scroll paintings in the Mahayana community of Buddhists while performing some kind of religious performances. Similarly, in the Newar community of Kathmandu valley, there is a tradition of performing Bhim Rathaarohan, when somebody turns 77 years old, there is a tradition of making scroll painting containing the portrait of family members performing Bhim Rathaarohan below the picture of deities. In such paintings, a scene of a chariot is pulled by male in a queue and a female in another queue can be seen.
Likewise, in the Buddhist community, when somebody dies, a scroll painting is prepared wishing the departed soul to get heavenly peace. In such paintings, the name, address, date of birth and date of demise are mentioned. There is a tradition of performing religious functions and offering such paintings to the priests.
Once in a year, there is a trend of picture and painting exhibitions in different Bahaals of Kathmandu from the day of Gaijatra to Krishna Janmashtami.
The scroll paintings of Goddess Siddhilaxmi were made in the 17 Century.
Various Nepali scroll paintings have been collected in the museums of Nepal and abroad. There are many expert painters in Nepal who have adopted painting as their profession. We should protect the scroll painting.

On 28th June 2021, a program “Science talk” was conducted by our school, as an activity of the month of Asar, and the host of the program was a student from Grade XI, Aashutosh Pudasaini, who wholeheartedly welcomed the guest of the program Dr. Ananta Raj Chalise. The science talk was conducted for the students from grade IX to XII, and the students joined the program via google meet, due to the current circumstances. Dr. Chalise is a cancer researcher and a postdoctoral scholar at Radiation Medicine and Applied Science, University of California - School of Medicine, located in San Diego. He completed his Ph.D. in Physics and Applied Physics from the University of Texas located at Arlington. He had completed his Masters in Physics from Tribhuvan University and he had researched regarding the quality assurance brachytherapy (a cancer treatment where the radioactive material is planted on the patient’s body to damage the cancer cells).
In the program, he talked to High school students about “Medical Physics and its Applications” as his topic. Dr. Chalise stated that he is working on cutting-edge research to automate comprehensive patient-specific Quality Assurance tools for radiotherapy treatments in Varian Halcyon. He also talked about the application of medicine in the therapy of cancer treatment. The science talk was fruitful as I got to learn exactly how halcyon works. Halcyon Radiation Therapy is the therapy to treat cancer of the head, brain, neck, breasts, etc. Halcyon Therapy visualizes the cancer tumor and shows the exact location of the tumor through 3d images that help the doctor to decide the doses of medicine required for the patient. He also mentioned radiation therapy in which the patient is given a high dose of medicine to kill cancer cells and avoid their growth. He explained about the safe and efficient cancer treatment delivery by presenting slides. To go through safe and efficient cancer treatment, the patient is gone through a process of radiation simulation where the doctor makes marks on the patient’s skin’s part that should be treated, and then the doctor spots localized cell by performing an external beam (a process in which a machine scans the patient’s body, by moving around without touching the patient.
While executing the treatment plan made by the doctor, safety checks, the functionality of the equipment must be checked. At the end of the program, the students asked their questions through the chat section, and the host read it out for all of the people present in the program. Dr. Chalise answered all of the questions and cleared the confusion of the students, and then the program was over. The science talk session was really informative, however, me being a student of grade IX, some of the contexts that were talked about, during the program were not familiar to me, though Dr. Chalise tried his best to explain.

कथावस्तु
उपन्यास पाल्पा जिल्लाको सदरमुकाम तानसेन नगरीको प्राकृतिक सुन्दरताको वर्णनबाट सुरु भएको छ । उपन्यास गुल्मीका शुभम र रामपुरकी सुहानाले आफ्नो पढाइ पूरा गर्दै गरेको समयमा माया साटासाट गरेको र त्यसपछिको उनीहरूको जीवनयात्रामा केन्द्रित छ । उपन्यास पढ्दा लेखिकाले आफ्ना जीवनदर्शनका धारणालाई उपन्यासमा प्रस्तुत गर्न अनुमान लगाउन सकिन्छ । शुभम र सुहानाको माता पितालाई उनीहरूको प्रेम सम्बन्ध थाहा भएपछि, उपन्यासमा जात, पातको पनि कुरा उठेकाे छ तर त्यसले उनीहरूको सम्बन्धमा कुनै बाधा आउँदैन । शुभमले काठमाडौँमा पढाइ पूरा गर्छ र सुहानाले कलेजमा पढाउन थाल्छे। कथामा सबै कुरा सही भएको त कसैलाई पनि मन पर्दैन होला, त्यसैले शुभमले अमेरिकाको भिसा पाएको कुराले कथावस्तुलाई चाखलाग्दो बनाउँछ । शुभम अमेरिका जान्छ र पढाइ पूरा गरेर, पैसा कमाएर सुहानासँग विवाह गर्न नेपाल फर्कन्छ । अन्तरजातीय विवाह अमान्य भए पनि आआफ्ना मातापितालाई मनाएर विहे हुन्छ । बिहेको तयारी गर्दै गर्दा शुभम गाडी दुर्घटनामा परेपछि २ महिना अस्पतालमा रहँदा बिहेमा बाधा आउँछ। बिहेमा शुभमको दुर्घटनादेखि लिएर केल्ली ब्राउन भन्ने केटीले शुभामसँगको प्रेममा केही बाधा पुराउँछे । तर पनि बिहे सम्पन्न हुन्छ ।
केल्ली शुभमकी अमेरिका सँगै पढ्दाकी साथी हाे । ऊ एकाेहाेराे शुभमलाई मन पराउँथी । शुभम भने उसलाई साथीकाे रूपमा मात्र हेर्थ्याे । विवाहपछि केल्लीले शुभमलाई अमेरिकामा गोली हान्छे । तर शुभम बाँच्छ र सुहाना पनि अमेरिका आउँछे। सुहानाले अमेरिकामा एक संस्था खोलेर नेपाली भाषा अमेरिकामा बसाेबास गर्ने नेपालीलाई सिकाउँछिन् । उनीहरूकी एक छोरी जन्मिएपछि बुवा आमालाई अमेरिका बोलाउँछन् । जब केल्लीले दाेस्राे पटक शुभममाथि गोली चलाउँछे तब सुहानाले पुलिसलाई बोलाएर ज्यान बचाउँछे । सुहानाले नेपाली भाषा र संस्कृतिकाे जगेर्ना गर्ने उद्देश्य सफल हुन्छ ।
शुभमलाई नेपालमा आफ्नाे भाइकाे व्यवसाय डुब्न थालेपछि पारिवारिक तनाव बढ्दै जान्छ । अमेरिकामा आफूले राम्राे आर्थिक लाभ गरे पनि घरपरिवारकाे तनावले ऊ खुसी हुन सक्दैन । एक दिन मन बहलाउन सबै परिवार घ्म्न जाने क्रममा पछाडिबाट गाडीले ठक्कर दिएपछि उपन्यासकाे कथानक सकिएकाे छ ।
पात्रविधान
उपन्यासका पात्रहरु एक सामान्य परिवारमा हुने सदस्यहरू जस्तै छन् । धेरै पात्रहरूका सोच, व्यवहार, हामीले आफ्नै परिवारमा अथवा जहाँ पनि देख्न सकेका हुन्छौँ । कथाका मुख्य पात्र शुभम र सुहाना रहेका छन् र दुवै पक्षका परिवार बुझक्की छन् । उपन्यासमा नेपालमा धेरै जसो परिवारमा हुने सासु बुहारीको सम्बन्ध जस्तो सम्बन्ध सुहाना र शुभमकी आमाको छैन । शुभमकी आमा बुझक्की छिन् र आफ्नी बुहारीलाई छाेरीलाई जस्तै माया गर्छिन् । सुहाना असल र मिहिनेती छिन् र आफ्नो सोचलाई सफल र सार्थक बनाउन उनले धेरै मेहेनत गरिन् । उपन्यासमा केल्ली एक प्रतिकूल पात्रको रूपमा देखिएकी छिन् । केल्लीले शुभम र सुहानाप्रति गरेकाे व्यवहार तथा घटनाले याे कुरा पुष्टी हुन्छ ।
परिवेश
उपन्यासमा नेपालको गुल्मी, रामपुर,पाल्पा,काठमाडौँदेखि अमेरिकाको क्यालिलिफोर्निया, न्युयोर्क, वासिङ्टन डिसी, पार्क, र मन्दिरहरु जस्ता ठाउँहरुको परिवेश प्रस्तुत गरिएको छ। यस उपन्यासकाे परिवेश व्यापक रहेकाे छ ।
भाषाशैली
अमेरिका उपन्यासको भाषाशैली पनि सरल छ । लेखिकाले धेरै ठाउँमा नेपाली शब्दकाे प्रयाेग नगरी अङ्ग्रेजी शब्दहरूको प्रयाेग गरेकी छन् । त्यसकारण धेरै युवा पाठकहरूलाई यस किताबले आकर्षित गरेको छ । सरल शब्दमा लेखेकाे छोटो उपन्यासले धेरै पाठककाे मन जितेकाे छ ।
निष्कर्ष
उपन्यासमा युवायुवातीहरूबिच हुने शारीरिक आकर्षण र प्रेम सम्बन्ध, एउटी नारीले गर्नुपरेकाे सङ्घर्ष, नेपाली समाजले देख्न नसक्ने अन्तर जातीय विवाह र त्यसपछिका विविध पारिवारिक घटना क्रमलाई देखाउन खाेजेकाे छ । विदेशमा बसे पनि स्वदेशप्रतिकाे माया, भाषा र संस्कृतिलाई बचाइराख्नुपर्छ भन्ने कुरा यहाँ देखाइएकाे छ । समग्रमा उपन्यास स्वदेश र विदेशको सामाजिक, सांस्कृतिक, धार्मिक, पारिवारिक, तथा प्राकृतिक सुन्दरताको जीवन्त चित्रण गर्न सक्षम भएकाे छ ।
Tarak Meheta ka Oolta Chasma also known as TMKOC. TMKOC is a comedy Hindi serial that telecasts on Sony Sab channel. The original writer of this show is Tarak Mehta. He wrote a book Duniya Ne Undha Chasma and later that book was translated to this show called Tarak Mehta ka Oolta Chasma He was born on December 26, 1929, Ahmedabad, India. And passed away on March 1, 2017, Ahmedabad, India. And some of the other writers of this show are Abbas Hirapurwala , Rajen Upadhyay, Raju Odedra, Niren Bhatt, Jitendra Parmar who helped this show come to reality. The directors of this show are Dharmesh Mehta, Dheeraj Palshetkar, Malav Suresh Rajda.
The first episode of this show was released on July 28, 2008. There are a total of 3,182 episodes released till date. This show is about a society where people follow different religions and do different types of works that they do. There are writers, businesspersons, doctors, teachers, mechanical engineers, journalists, scientists, and shopkeepers. We can find great relationships between an individual. Almost 25 people are shown on a daily basis. Some of the famous characters of this show are Jethalal, Daya, Tappu, Champaklal who are also from the same family in reel life. The show usually shows the problematic life of Jethalal and his best friend who Jethalal also calls his Fire Brigade Tarak Mehta helps him solve his problems. Some of the famous things said by Jethalal are Dhobi, Nonsense, Chapli. Tappu and his friends are also known as Tappu Sena who have and are doing great works and also causing a lot of problems in the show.
Many people, including myself, are fans of this show. At the end of every episode gives us a great lesson which we can even practice in real life. Once the show even started a campaign rewarding people who clean their areas and send them pictures and they used to reward them. This show is filled with comedy, unity and friendship. They celebrate every festival with each other and call themselves family. Tappu Sena has even grown up in this channel as they started the show when they were in schools and now they are studying in colleges. Some of the old characters have also been replaced and many of this show's fans are not impressed by the acting skills of the new characters. The most famous character daya has left the show due to her pregnancy and after she left the show there have been lots of rumours why she hasn't come back to the show. Some people say that she is coming back soon, some even say that she will not. Many of the fans are also upset regarding the new episode and that the new episodes are not interesting and entertaining as the old ones.
This show has evolved a lot through the years. It is one of the longest running shows of India. The show has had many changes in the characters and the actors that have played the characters. Every character has their own traits and comic style. The show is so popular that the team has announced an animated version of it which will be telecasted soon. This is very good news for the fanbase of TMKOC.

नेपाल बहुभाषी, बहुधार्मिक र बहुसांस्कृतिक देश भए पनि यहा धर्म, जाति र संस्कृतिबिच शान्तिर सद्भाव क़ायम नै छ । हामी नेपालीहरूमा जात, धर्म, परम्परा, चाडका नाममा कुनै विभेद छैन । नेपालीहरूबिच सामाजिक सद्भावमा कायम नै छ ।
हामी एकअर्कालाई सम्मान गर्दछौँ । प्रत्येक नेपालीहरूबिच सामाजिक सद्भाव हनुपर्छ । सामाजिक सद्भावले आपसी सहयाेग, मित्रता र एकतामा बलियाे सम्बन्ध स्थापना गर्छ । यदि काेही कसैले सामाजिक सद्भावमा खलल पुराउन खाेज्याे भने विभिन्न हिंसा, विभेद र मतभेद देखा पर्छन् । परापूर्व कालदेखि चलिआएकाे सामाजिक सद्भाव हालसम्म पनि कायम नै छ र रहिरहने छ ।
IGP Summer School was on Electronics and it was mainly focused on girls. IGP is a young female physics enthusiast-led community having the vision to empower young girls in STEM and other tech-related fields with an opportunity to learn, connect and share. Their vision was to break the gender stereotype that exists in the field of STEAM and create a continuously growing community where females empower and support each other in their journey. It was founded in 2020. Their main focus was to introduce and develop curiosity in the younger generation about the basics of electronics and make us able to create basic electronic projects. This summer was 10 days long. It was from 30th June to 9th July. Through this event, I learned about electronics and the basics of programming. I was very excited to participate in this event. There were more than 100 students from 11 different schools. All those students were from grades 8, 9, and 10. This entire event was held virtually due to this pandemic and this event helped participants invest their idle time to learn crucial knowledge in the field. This event was held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and this event was held on zoom. We all were divided into different teams and I was on team Vegas. There were more than 10 teams. On day one it was the opening ceremony. And day two was orientation, from day 3 to day 7 we learned about programming. I learned how to use a tinker card. After that, we got 2 days break and in that break, we needed to make a group project related to electronics. On the last day, it was the closing ceremony and on the last day we gave our presentation and team Slytherin won the best project. In the event, we used to get a 20 minutes break and in that break, we went to our respective breakout rooms and played different kinds of games, quizzes, etc. I made many friends from that event and I had a lot of fun. Every day we used to get assignments. I learned many things about electronics. Every day I learned new things. From our school, there were more than 10 students and from my class, there were 3 students. I learned about circuits and different gates. I learned how to do work in a team/group. I understood the advantages of teamwork. At first, this was boring but day by day it was getting interesting. It was hard to understand things at first. Our teachers were very friendly. I learned many things from the lectures. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. After the class, we used to have fun conversations. At that time they used to sing and we used to give feedback and day by day they made the program fun. I made a lot of memories in IGP summer school, it was the experience of a lifetime.
साना वस्तीहरू विकास हुँदै ठुला सहरमा रुपान्तरण हुने प्रक्रिया नै सहरीकरण हो । विकास समय र आधुनिकतासँगै बढ्दै जान्छ । कुनै निश्चित समयबिचको परिवर्तन नै विकास हो । सहरीकरण पनि विकासको एक भाग हो । परिवर्तनशील समयसँगै धेरै कुरा परिवर्तन हुँदै छन् । करिब १० वर्षको अवधि अहिलेको तुलना गर्ने हो भने सहरीकरण धेरै बढ्दै गएको छ ।
सहरीकरणले हाम्रो जीवन सहज बनाउँछ । सहरीकरणमा मानिसले भौतिक सुविधा प्राप्त गर्दछन् । भौतिक रूपमा व्यवस्थित बसाइ सहरीकरणमा हुन्छ । सहरीकरणले मानिसको दैनिकी परिवर्तन गरिदिन्छ । सहरीकरण भनेको निरन्तर विकासको प्रक्रिया भएको हुनाले मानिस दिनप्रतिदिन सुविधाभोगी हुन्छ । सहरीकरणमा राम्रो शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य ,रोजगारी जस्ता धेरै सुविधाहरू प्राप्त गर्न सक्दछौँ ।
सबै चीजहरूको सकारात्मक र नकारात्मक पक्ष हुन्छन् । सहरीकरणका पनि सकारात्मक नकारात्मक पक्षहरू छन् । सहरीकरणले मानिस अल्छी हुँदै गइरहेका छन्। सहरीकरणले धनी र गरिबबिच सामाजिक भेदभाव खडा गरेको छ । वनजनङ्गल विनाश हुँदै गइरहेको छ । अव्यवस्थित बसाइ र प्रदूषण बढिरहेको छ । सहरको जनसङ्ख्या पनि बढ्दै गइरहेको छ । यति हुँदाहुँदै पनि हाम्रो जीवन सहरीकरणभन्दा टाढा भने हुन सक्दैन ।
