- Bishakha Upadhyay - 30010, Gr ... 07 September, 2023

Brain Drain
- Tanishq Shakya - 28011, Grade ... 06 September, 2023

Brain Drain means when a highly skilled individual leaves or migrates from the country and goes to another country for better opportunities. Mostly, it is due to better paying jobs, lack of opportunities, political and economical problems in the home country. Brain Drain not only causes the decreasing number of people in their home country but also affects the country in economic, social way, education and development of the country.

Migrating to another country can affect our home country in both positive and negative ways. For example, if a person migrates to another country and works there the home country will receive some remittance but in the cases where a huge number of people are migrating to another country for jobs or better opportunities might cause the lack of skilled human resources in our home country. But, when people learn various new things from other countries and come back to their home land and decide to apply that in their home country, then the home country benefits from that. Not only for good jobs but youths also migrate to another country for education as the rate of education and educated people is higher in comparison to their home land. There are various reasons for brain drain and solutions to decrease brain drain. Firstly, the main reason for brain drain is due to the lack of proper paying jobs. For that we must try to improve working conditions in our home country which includes better paying jobs, good opportunities, better health care etc which will help to attract skilled individuals leading towards the development in the human resources of the country. Another major reason for brain drain is educational opportunities. We can see that many people go for abroad studies but if we are able to manage our education system and provide better facilities towards educational factors, skilled resources would stay in the home country and for its development.

In conclusion, brain drain has been taken as an essential way to earn remittance and produce skilled human resources by country but who knows it turned out to be a liability in the long run where most populations once migrated have less frequent chance to come back to home land.

- Shreevaani Dhungel - 29044, G ... 06 September, 2023

The Man Made Monster
- Aadar Timalsina - 29046, Grad ... 05 September, 2023

There was a scientist who was hungry for power, he wanted to be the strongest creature in the whole universe but he was a human and humans have their own weakness. There were Vikings, devils, demons and the strongest was Zech who was a devil. The scientist wanted to kill Zech who was a devil. This was his only ambition. The scientist’s name was Scar D. Teach and had a very happy family. His family had three people: himself, his wife whose name was Rose and had two twin brothers one was named Rico and other was Romeo.  They all lived a very happy life.

Scar used to think that power was nothing until that day. The day of despair for Scar, the worst day in his entire life. That day started as a normal day but ended in the worst possible way for Scar. Scar was a person with an attitude loaded and had never apologised for any mistake he has done. That moment Scar was researching in his lab but then a monster came into his lab and that monster halfway killed Scar and started ordering to beg for his life and then he will spare Scar’s life. Scar apologised again and again. After that day, Scar couldn't move his lower body so he used a self-controllable wheelchair and for that reason he was hungry for power.

Scar wanted power so he created a body and somehow gave that creature a life but that creature needed food and Scar killed 100s of rats and fed them to the creature he created.  2023-11-03 was Scar’s birthdate. The family of Scar planned to go to the lab of Scar because Scar hadn’t come home for almost a month so they went there but Scar had gone mad and fed his own family to the body for power and after that. Scar was ready and named the beast that he created, power. Scar tried to kill Zech, so he went but Zech had other plans with an intense battle Zech killed the monster Scar created and then Zech slowly approached Scar and Zech asked him  “Is this what you wanted?” and Scar replied “I got what I wanted now you can kill me”. Then Scar started burning and then Scar smiled and a tear fell out of his eyes and Scar’s body completely disappeared.

- Rudrayani Shrestha - 30025, G ... 05 September, 2023

Janai Purnima
- Eshanee Manandhar - 28004, Gr ... 04 September, 2023

Janai Purnima is a festival to bring purity. This festival is basically celebrated to revitalise purity in their lives and bonding between their closed ones. Janai Purnima is also called a sacred-thread festival as a sacred thread called Janai is worn by the men in the festival. Janai Purnima is a Hindu festival celebrated in the month of Shrawan. However, due to some changes in the lunar year calendar, the Janai Purnima of this year 2080, is celebrated in the month of Bhadra. It is also called Shrawan Purnima.

During this festival, men usually wake up early in the morning and take bath in a river. The water of the river they bathe in is considered as holy water, it is said that after they take a bath, they are turned holy and totally purified. After bathing, they wear a thread called Janai which is considered as the holy thread. The holy thread is only given to those men who have performed the religious activity called Bratabandha. After doing the Bratabandha, the men are told to wear the Janai (thread) everytime. Janai is a sacred thread worn specially during the Bratabandha (An occasion where the man gets guru diksha (life lessons) from the guru with the Gayatri mantra. With one being given guru diksha one has to follow the moral code of conduct of Brahmacharya (Abstinence from the physical relationship till the marriage).

Yearly, they change their Janai on Janai Purnima day. In the city area, priests are called in the family’s home where they read matras out of a holy book which is said to purify the Janai. After the priests are done with reciting the mantras, they are given some food and also money. The money is usually called Dakshina.

In the context of India, Rakshya Bandhan is celebrated in Janai Purnima. This culture has also been adapted in Nepali since a few years ago. On this day, sisters make brothers wear rakhis highlighting their bond between themselves. In exchange for the rakhi, the brothers give their sister money and other sorts of gifts. During this day, priests ties a holy thread in people’s arm while chanting the “rakshya mantra”. During this day, “kwati” is also taken which is a type of soup with several pulses which purifies our stomach.

Janai Purnima is a really important festival in our country. We must all respect our cultures and celebrate festivals with joy and being together with our family. We must keep on celebrating these kinds of festivals to mark the significance of the festival and also to continue our cultures and traditions as it symbolises our country and ourselves. These kinds of festivals are evidence why our country, Nepal, is unique through social and cultural abundance.

B.P Koirala Memorial Planetarium Observatory Science Museum
- Niva Shrestha - 30017, Grade ... 04 September, 2023

We went to the museum after lunch, and it took around 30 minutes for us to get there. It is located in Kirtipur. While we were on the bus, some people were singing. After we arrived at the museum, a staff member guided us throughout our field visit. The first thing we saw was a Bernoulli blower. The staff member showed us how to use it by showing an example. He turned on the machine, and air started coming out. He dropped the ball, which was in his hand, exactly where the air was coming out, and the ball started to float. Everyone was amazed, and so was I. Then we saw many other things, like sound tubes, magic mirrors, walking pianos, and many more. Soon we went to another room, and there were things like an infinity mirror and an electromagnetic spectrum. My favourite thing throughout our field trip was something called a "Colour Shadow" . When we turn the machine on, it shows yellow, blue, and red on a blank wall. We can do any activity in front of it, and our shadows will show what activity we are doing. It was really cool for me. Afterwards, we went to the "Botany Section" . I saw many plants, like an apricot and mushrooms. The plants were either displayed on the wall or in a glass frame in three rooms. The last room had a big mushroom that was painted a mix of pink and purple. Then we exited that room and went to the second floor. The second floor did not have much to see. There were statues of some men and statues of some plants. That was all the second floor had. It was 1:40 p.m. when we exited the museum. We took a group photo and went back to the school.
The museum was really amazing and astonishing, but I wish there were more things to explore on the second floor. This field visit was very memorable to me and my classmates, and I enjoyed it a lot. I appreciate that my teachers picked such an informative and thoughtful place to visit. B.P. Koirala Memorial Planetarium Observatory Science Museum.
