Tuesday - the Tihar celebration day in school. I had nothing to do but my friends participated in some activities. We only had to attend classes in the first half. When we were having our dance class, some friends went to the competition. After our dance class, I wished luck to my house members. My best friend and I went back to the class as we both were not participating. We discussed homeworks and played a game called designing. We played the game with four people. After completing, we went downstairs and showed the design to our class teacher. She was impressed with us and loved our design. She asked us to pin it in pinboard and we did it. My other friends also appreciated our work. Only 15 minutes were left before the final bell but our teacher gave us a little more time to enjoy.
I woke up at 6 in the morning. I made my bed. I bought the newspaper from a shop. Then I got ready for the school. I went to school and started working for my project. I was paired up with groups. First of all, we made plan in a sheet. We decided to make two groups among our group. We decided that Sulav and I would work in Nepali, Shirish and Prachin in English. Aarav and Albert were there to help us. I made the cover page of the book ”Yodha” for the book talk. And my other friends also worked as decided. We presented our work. Finally, after the program ended, we went home. The program was fun!

On August 12, 2018, the seventh Chinese cultural dance competition was held in Premier International School. There were altogether 11 songs,15 dance and 2 martial arts. We didn’t know that there were singing and martial arts as well. First, we came to school, met our Chinese teacher, Ms. Han and we started getting ready. At first, she did my makeup then Aarasee’s, Sonoma's and so on. After we finished our makeup we dressed up and headed towards Premier Auditorium. After we reached there we started getting ready. Our dance teacher Mrs. Rameshwori also came. Both the teachers were looking beautiful. Our dance was listed in the 4th number. First, there was singing, then dancing and then the martial arts. We watched the singing competition. It was so good. All the participants sang really well. Finally, it was our turn to perform. We all were so scared of making mistakes but we finished the performance without any mistakes. We saw all the dances. They were also amazing. After dancing, there were martial arts. It was not so good because it was not balanced in positions. After all the performances, it was time for our result. We were so scared. The results of singing were announced. And now was the turn of dance. We scored 92.6 points. Unfortunately, we did not win, Premier International School won the prize. Later, we were asked to come on the stage to take photos. I was sad because we did not win. However, I was realized that winning everytime is not important. Instead, participating and trying is very important in our life. If we did not win this competition, we have a lot more competition to participate. We should work hard and even harder to win. After the program was over, we went down for snacks but we could not eat because the food was already finished. We headed towards school. After reaching, we changed our dress and went home. Sumnima sister, Aarasee, Ms. Han and I went together because our houses were nearby.
On 16th September, our school organized a hike: Kapan Gumba to Fulari Gumba. We arrived at school the same time as we used to. We left the school for the hiking at around 9:30 am. After we reached Kapan, we got off the bus and walked for an hour or so. We clicked photos and had lots of fun on the way and finally reached Kapan Gumba. Thereafter, we left for Fulbari Gumba. We stopped on the halfway to have our lunch from 12:05 pm to 12:45 pm. We had lots of fun at Fulbari Gumba as well. Overall, the hike was fun. We reached school at 4 pm, ate snacks at school, and headed to home.
Bhadra 31st, 2075, Sunday - a day to remember. We left our school at 9:30 am for Kapan. Nirmal sir asked us to sing in bus. We sang a lot and had so much of fun. We got off the bus after we reached Kapan and started walking. In just five minutes or so we felt so tired.Nirmal sir said “I am injured but still I am walking and you are not even injured.” Also, Kuldeep sir handed us speaker to listen to the music while walking. We clicked lots of photos on the way. Finally after we reached Kapan Gumba, we took group photos with teachers. The teachers who were with us were Roma ma’am, Bipana ma’am, Kuldeep sir, and Nirmal sir. I would like to thank Bipana ma’am for clicking pictures of my group. Later, we headed towards Fulbari Gumba. Our legs were hurting. After we reached Fulbari Gumba, we rested for 5 minutes at the gate and walked inside. I felt like the walk was worth after seeing beautiful walls, flowers, and surroundings. We clicked lots of photos there as well. Then, we started walking again for Jagdol. We had our lunch there and clicked few more photos at Jagdol. Then it was time to return back. We walked about 45 minutes to reach Gokarna where our bus was waiting for us. We reached to school at around 4 pm.
Deerwalk Sifal School (DSS) took Grade VI and VIII for hiking on 16 September, 2018. We went to Fulbari Gumba through Kapan Gumba, Jagdol, and Gokarna. We walked for about 4 hours. Our coordinators were Kuldeep sir and Roma ma’am. I would like to thank my teachers for making the hike full of fun. We spent time by dancing, eating food, listening to music and taking pictures. Albert, Pranjal, Saish and I formed a small group.
When we reached Jagdol, we ate our lunch and took break for 45 minutes, then we headed towards Gokarna. We were mesmerised with breathtaking scenes. However, when returning back we lost our way, so Nirmal sir guided us. He took us a trail across the paddy field. All of us fell down in muddy field, but we managed to clean it up using tap water of a house. While returning to the bus we were talking about each other. It was an awesome hike.
The journey only requires you to put one foot in front of the other. If you allow yourself the opportunity to trek, you will witness beauty every step of the way not just at the summit. I study in Deerwalk Sifal School in grade 7. On September 17th, our school organized hiking for students from grade 6 and 7. Our main spot of the hiking was Fulbari Gumba. Our bus stopped at Kapan from where the hiking began. On the way to Fulbari Gumba, we clicked pictures of beautiful views, took selfies with teachers and had some group photos. After we reached Jagdol, we stayed there for our lunch. After lunch, we danced and sang various songs. The view from Jagdol was awesome. We clicked many photos there as well. After pretty long walk we finally reached to our destination - Fulbari Gumba. The Gumba was so beautiful. The designs of the walls were eye catching. We clicked some group photos there, rested for a while and started to walk towards Gokarneshor where the bus was waiting for us. On the way, we saw beautiful rice farm. Finally, we reached Gokarneshwor at around 3 PM and came back to school. We had snacks at school and went back to our home. The hiking was a great experience.
I was super excited the day we were going for hiking. I did all my shoppings in the morning and packed my lunch and managed my bag. I had my breakfast and got ready for school at 8:50. I arrived at school and we had some chit chat among friends. At 9:45 we left from the school. We were 21 students from grade 7. So, half of the students went on bus and half of us went in van. The time flew so fast that we didn’t even realize when we reached our destination-Kapan. We reached Kapan around 10:30 and started hiking. At around 11:00, we finally reached Kapan Gumba and then started walking towards Jagdol. We reached there at 12:00, had our snacks, clicked few pictures and around 1:00, we headed to Fulbari Gumba. We were in a hurry, everyone walked so fast that in no time we reached at Fulbari Gumba. We took permission from the guard at the gate to enter inside. We captured some mesmerizing pictures. Then, we headed towards Gokarna. We had few difficulties walking on the muddy way. Overall, the hike was fun.
On September 7th 2018, Deerwalk Sifal School (DSS) organized the International Literacy Day program. We, the students, had a lot of fun along with reading that day. As every other usual day when I reached school, my friends were waiting for me. After greeting each other we directly went to our class. After 5 minutes bell rang and our class teacher Roma Ma’am entered the class and informed us about today’s program along with the name list of the students who were selected for the story telling. I was also one of the members and was very much excited to do the work. As soon as the bell rang, our Nepali Teacher arrived, and he allowed us to practice for the program. In the meantime, I and my friends discussed about what we could do in the program, and I showed them my work (I had made a drawing from our English reading book “The BFG” on the chart paper). My friends were amused to see my work and they complimented me too. I made our work easier because if I hadn’t done the work then we had to do both English and Nepali book drawing before the program, which was nearly impossible. As our work was reduced, we utilized our time in discussing about what to present in front of our parents, teachers and fellow students. We discussed about the program after having our lunch. Meanwhile, I suggested my friends to do really well in the program so that we could win. Then we decorated our chart paper with various colors and paintings. While we were remembering our line, we saw that the ‘Skit Group’ was also practicing “Profession of My Choice” where my friends were dressed in various attires that they want to become in future (Smriti as a doctor, Amita as a fashion designer and Angel as an air hostess). We had a lot of fun while practicing our work. Furthermore, I and my friends went to class 2A for the storytelling where we told them the story of the Wobbly Jellyfish. After the story completion I also asked them questions regarding the story, and they pretty much enjoyed while answering the questions. Finally after some time the exhibition started so without delaying I went to the exhibition area along with my friends. As BOOKLAND PUBLICATIONS had organized the “BOOK FAIR” at our school many parents were interested in books. After some time, my parents also came and listened to our presentation, and they were very much happy in the program. They also complimented me and my friends for our work. After the Literacy Day program was over there was a Teej Program which was especially organized for the ladies teachers and parents. We enjoyed a lot at the program. Deerwalk Sifal School (DSS) not only provides good education but also motivates the students to gain extra knowledge by organizing various different programs. After all, that is what matters in Deerwalk.
There was an Inter-school Sanskrit Shlokas Recitation and Dance Competition at DAV school on August 29th. While four of the participants including me from my school participated in the Sanskrit Slokas Recitation, the other three participated in ‘Sanskrit Dance Competition’. All of us had practiced hard. On the competition day, I was very excited to perform. We all came early in the morning in the school to practice and were finally ready to go. I came to school at 7 AM. On our way a traffic police officer informed us that we could not go to DAV by road because BIMSTEC conference was held between the seven countries. So we could not help taking the other route. Finally we reached DAV school. It was very big. At the entry of the competition hall, organizers put our names under our school name. The hall was very big. There were about 19 competitors. The audience was fewer than I expected. Because of the BIMSTIC conference, many students of other schools had not arrived at the competition. We waited for them for some time. There were essay writing and Sanskrit speech competitions as well. All the competitions were performed at the same time but at different halls. All the competitors were excellent. After the competition was over we went to the canteen for the lunch. One thing I liked the most about DAV school was that they only allow vegetarian food in the school. After lunch time was over, it was the time of result. They announced the result of the Shlokas recitation at last. We did not secure any position but we were happy to know that the other team from my school stood second in the dance competition. Although our team did not win, we learnt so many things and we were happy.
Today I was very excited because it was a very big day for me. Our school (Deerwalk Sifal School) took us to a grand competition. At first there was a selection round in our school to decide who was going to take part in the competition. The competition was held at DAV school located at Jawalakhel, Lalitpur. In the selection round, I, Jiya, Niharika and Pranjal were selected. We were feeling very happy. It was Wednesday. There was also a dance competition in which our school was participating. My friend Smriti and two sisters from grade 9 were selected in the dance competition. Our respected teacher Tej Sir called us early in the morning that day. We practiced a lot and were ready. We reached DAV school at 9 AM. We were bit nervous but we were very happy. We knew that our Sanskrit teacher Mahadev Sir had also taught in that school. In the hall there were many school and gurukuls. There were many competitions but our school took part in Sanskrit Shlok and Dance. Our turn came in the 4th or 5th round. There were many gurukuls who recited better than us. But we did not lose hope. After the competition was over we all went to have lunch. We all enjoyed the food and went to the Buddha Hall. It was very big. The announcement was made. In the dance competition, our school secured second position. And there were many announcements and lectures by many scholars. We enjoyed listening to them. And then there was an announcement of the Shlokas competition. We did not secure any position. All other gurukuls secured some positions. But still we were all happy because we participated in the big competition. Then we all returned to our school. From the event, we learnt that we should always respect the Sanskrit language. We should all study Sanskrit.
