We still remember the days when with the overflowing class of more than 50 students, a teacher would sit at the front desk, grading piles of papers which were submitted by students. Those were the years when we prioritized grades over knowledge. After the examination, every student turned quiet. The classroom turned into a warzone and friends turned into enemies.
But once we started to study at private level schools, the scenario was different. The level of competition has decreased. The school started to encourage us to participate in different curricular activities conducted by the school. The subjects became more interesting and the course became more flexible and creative. Also, teachers started encouraging students to interact. But did this make knowledge gaining process weaker? Not at all.
As a conclusion, it led us to be more creative and fruitful. Honestly speaking, all Nepali students are not lucky enough to escape the grades and mugging trap of education system. The culture of studying only for exams affects students and hamper their knowledge gaining ability. Nowadays, we can see every single stationery, selling notes and guide books of different subjects, which promise students to get good marks, if they mug up properly.

I believe that every person is born with talent. Don’t we all have our talents? Of course, we do. We have our talents inside us but we do not try to show it; we are scared to show it. The reason we don’t show our talent is that we underestimate ourselves and start to lose our hope and confidence. The other reason is that we are afraid that someone will make fun of us. If anyone actually does make fun, we should just ignore them because they don’t have the talent that you have. Talent is a god gifted thing; use it wisely. Nobody is perfect and is born to be perfect. Learn from your mistakes because mistakes are expected, inspected, respected and corrected. Don’t judge people by their looks. Instead, judge them by their talents. If you keep your talents reserved within yourself in present, you will regret it for a lifetime in the coming future. If you don’t feel you have any talents within you, you will shortly find it. Downton Abbey said "You have the talent that none of the rest has. Just find what it is and use it. It's doing nothing. That’s the enemy." So, find your talents and show it to others.
It was a cloudy day. It was the day that my fellows and I had been waiting for a very long time. I woke up and went to school earlier than other days. As me and my friends walked around chatting with each other, I could see other students dressed up in formal attire like me and some of my friends. After all, it was Deerwalk Poetry Night.
After a long procedure, the finalists of the Deerwalk Poetry Night were selected and I was one of them. Altogether there were 31 participants, 15 from English language and 16 from Nepali language. As the competition began, I started getting really nervous which affected my performance. Saisha Pudasaini was declared as the winner of English language and Manasbhi Niraula of Nepali language. Manasbhi Niraula was also the level champion of lower school in both Nepali and English language while Saisha Pudasaini was the level champion of high school in English language category. Besides them, Sunabi and Anushree from middle school and Arunesh from high school were also the level champions.
Poetry has always fascinated me. However, I could not meet my expectations this time which made me feel like I was falling behind. I had no confidence in me or rather I had given up before I even performed. My stage fright ruined my whole performance as I stood there whole-heartedly dejected. I learned that confidence always does miracles in every performance, and lack of confidence is something that ruins it.

Laughter is a powerful antidote to stress, pain and conflict. Nothing works faster than a good laugh to bring your mind and body back into balance. A good hearty laugh relieves physical stress leaving your muscles relaxed for upto 30 to 45 minutes. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and works as infection fighting antibiotics. Thus, laughter improves resistance power against diseases. It also improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow. Therefore, My request to the reader is to always keep laughing if not, at least smile.
The prime duty of a student is to learn about the subject and find ways to apply that learning for the betterment of themselves or others. Students should be responsible to conduct themselves in a manner that doesn't interfere with the teaching and learning process. Students’ responsibilities are fulfilled when they take an active role in learning by recognizing that they are accountable for their academic success. It is demonstrated when they make choices and take actions that lead them toward their educational goals. Students are expected to be involved in classroom interactions. They should follow good practices and behaviors; for example loyalty, patience, activeness, confidence, etc.
Moreover, students should understand that their school is a prominent platform in which one can learn many things.

But a pessimist approaches problems in a different way. He gets dejected and thinks all the doors are shut and all are against him and hate him. As a result, he does not succeed in life. An optimist always wins because he is sure of himself, when one door is shut to him, he will console himself by saying that another one will open for him. He tries hard and will find a solution to any difficult situation. The proverb also says that, “God loves all and will not discard any”. He will always help us in any adverse situation to find a way out. So, trust in God and work hard to achieve success in life.
