After Germany lost the second world war and was divided among the allied powers, Berlin changed the face of the world and the story of the cold war revolved around it. The Berlin wall was basically a border made in the middle of Berlin, which divided Berlin into East and West. The Berlin wall was officially built on August 13th, 1961. The idea of having a border was of the Russians. The Berlin wall symbolizes the clash between the two forms of government: Communist (the Soviets) and Capitalist (U.S.A., Britain, and France). The Berlin wall fell on November 9th, 1989. It happened by mistake. The media and people mistook information about lifting the wall. The East German leaders were planning only to make traveling easier. At the checkpoint, thousands of people gathered and a chief officer on duty could not control the situation. In frustration, the chief ordered to open the gate and soon the Berlin wall collapsed.
