As we arrived there DSP Govinda Raj Kafle started a formal talk program. After the talk with Mr. Govinda Raj Kafle, we were taken to the CCTV and the control center of the police department many main chowks and cities have been covered with CCTV and CRV (control room vehicle). We were also instructed by police officers about the dialing of 100 in the emergency cases. We were also shown some technical department of the police. After this visit the technical department DIG Sailash Thapa Kshetri awarded about different topics related to our safety and others safety. We got to learn many things from his experiences.
We got to learn many things from many experienced personalities. This visit was fruitful and interesting.
We started our journey from our school at 9:30 am. We arrived at around 9:45 am at the Metropolitan Police Office. This was the biggest office of Kathmandu valley. There, we attended programs like”EK CHHIN PRAHARISANGA '' and that program was interesting. That program was hosted by DSP Govinda Raj Kafle and DIG Sailash Thapa. We also visited the control room where we saw CCTV footage of different areas. They saw us demo also of a road accident. We request them to see the real accident also. We saw two accidents which were very dangerous. The program was conducted into two sections. First DSP Govinda Raj Kafle gave us knowledge about cyber-crime and other crimes. He showed us the video also what safety can be done but it was not too interesting. In the second half, DIG Sailesh Thapa's talk was too interesting. He told us about his own life. We returned to school, we reached school at 1:15 and we ate lunch and we attended regular class.
Nepal does not have a very long cinema/ film history but has been trying to maintain its place in history. As of now, most of the nepali films have been inspired by the indian movie industry. Almost all of the Nepali films of this generation have the same storyline which was used in the 1990s Bollywood.
Although few new generation directors are trying to display a different storyline and give the film a new look but maximum audience of Nepal and people of film industry prefer to have a traditional pattern. This is why directors and producers hesitate to make a different film compared to others.
If a director tries to make a film with a different storyline or give a new taste to film, either the producer will reject it or the film board of Nepal. However with these difficulties new generation movie makes have come up to make a new sensible entertainment cinema rather than dramatic and socio- action Bollywood inspired ores. Movies such as kalo pothi, jatra jatra, pashupati Prasad, loot, kabaddi kabaddi, dhanapati etc. have been released so far but accept few of them, none of them grabbed the profit of money required to make it a hit. Due to this, there have been rejecting new generation films and producers' experimental films.
On 2019/11/04, grade IX and VII had a field trip to the Metropolitan city office. We had a class called ‘One Day with Police’. We got to know about DSP and other SSPs. We also went to control rooms there. That was a really great opportunity to go there. The office controls the three districts: Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur. We saw so many CCTV cameras in various places. Well, the field trip was very amazing and informative. We got to know about the accidents, real-life examples of people also a lot more about cybercrime. We also had tea there. We attended a group photo also which is very memorable.
As part of our term field trip, we the students of grades 8 and 9 were taken to visit the metropolitan police department. We were greeted by DSP Govinda Raj Kafle there along with supporting police officers. He gave us a brief insight into what the program was about and we were told about the new initiatives Nepal police department was taking. After sharing some knowledge related to trending problems in the society, we toured the police control room of Kathmandu valley. We watched how the 100 phone call worked and how to use the number. Some demo and the real-life incident was shown related to 100 phone calls. After that session, the respected DIG of Kathmandu valley Mr. Sailash Thapa shared his experiences with us. He informed us on how to stay safe and how to take the police’s help when needed. His charismatic personality and fun explanations had us all spellbound at the end of the day. I think this field visit was informative, fun, and would help us throughout our lives.
The national flag reflects the identity of our country. It is the symbol of which a country introduces itself around the world. You must have seen the way guests and hosts honor our national flag in different programs held around you. We do so because it is our national pride.
The national flag is planted informal programs and government offices. Not just that, you must have seen how the national flag flares and flutters as when the vehicles of a VIP pass by you.
The shape of our national flag is two triangles adjoined. The flag is composed of a crime sin red background, dark blue borderline, shining crescent moon at the center on the upper triangle, and a center on the center of the triangle below. The crimson red background of the national flag signifies the boldness of each Nepali who knows no covering to any force. Similarly, the blue border line gives out the meaning of peace and non-violence around Nepal.
Recently, I’ve not been at my best with my attitude and behavior with my teachers. As I had a meeting with all subject teachers along with my parents. Seeing my parents’ faces full of disappointment whilst they listened about my behavior in class I totally regret not following the school’s rules and disturbing the class’s atmosphere. I just came here in Sifal Secondary School to study hard and for a bright future. But, as I’m not a good student in academics still I ruin the classroom’s atmosphere and I have been disturbing those students who really want to study hard and want a bright future. So, as all the teachers gave me my feedback I realized how badly I was influencing my classmates and how hard was I for the teachers to handle. So, to improve on that I’ve some measures which are as follows:
i) Be attentive in classroom
ii) Don’t ask stupid questions
iii) Don’t laugh unnecessarily in class
iv) When teachers ask something answer politely
v) Take important things seriously
vi) Give more time to studies
vii) Don’t side talk with friends and concentrate in class during lectures
So. as these are the measures that I need to follow in my classroom. I will promise all my teachers that I will be attentive in class and follow all your directions and complete all my work on time. I will not play video games till the SEE exam ends and I will achieve good marks in the SEE exam.
As a field visit on November 11th, Monday, the students of grade X were taken to Metropolitan Traffic Police Division, Putalisadak.
Our short yet informative trip began with our departure from school at 10:00 AM and we reached there within 20 minutes. It started from the control room where we saw CCTV footage of some main roads of 3 districts; Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur and ended at the conference room where we were shown several videos clips on road accidents, among which some were real incidents and some were filmed. Some officers along with three volunteers guided us throughout the visit. We learned about making a call at 103 if some road accidents occurred or an emergency took place. We were also given basic ideas about how traffic police communicate with each other during any road incident. The 100 CCTV in the control room which took in charge of 3 districts was controlled and observed by 6 officers. I was stunned to know that 10 accidents occur on a daily basis inside the valley only. If people are unaware or they neglect the basic traffic rules, like using the zebra crossing, overhead bridges to cross the road and using a helmet while riding in two-wheelers and so on, they are the ones who will be facing the consequences.
I felt good to know and see officers put efforts to aware the young minds and could help in the management of traffic in Nepal.
On 26th August at 1:25 p.m we the students of grade 8 and 10 were taken to Phewa hall for a parent's talk program, in which Mr. Drona Pokhrel the parents of Drabisha Pokhrel from grade I spoke about “ Insurance”. He is the manager of an insurance company.
In the program, he explained to us what actual insurance is, it's types and it's beneficial. He also asked us to run insurance on any property or items that we bought like bikes, cars, scooters, we can even insurance on the property. The types of insurance are: marine, property, aviation, health, etc are the types of insurance.
On 26th August,2019 we had a parent’s talk program in our school which was held in Phewa hall. The speaker’s name was Drona Pokhrel who was the manager of an insurance company located at Chabahil. I think he was a very experienced person in terms of insurance-related information. He also gave many real-life examples in a funny way which I found interesting. We had only one period for this program, so he had many things to share with us but due to time limitations, he couldn't share as much as he could. We enjoyed this parent’s talk program.
On November 11th, we were taken to the Metropolitan traffic police division. To be honest, I was quite excited to visit there. I had never been there before. I always wondered about how it would be like to be in a place like that. I know it now, it is quite interesting and informative.
At first, we lined up and were taken to the control room and what was it like you may ask. The first glimpse of it was unbelievable. They had a wall full of TV monitoring different CCTV footage of Kathmandu valley and more. One friendly police officer began to explain the working process of that room and he also answered some of our questions clearing all of our doubts. Once we were done with that room, we proceeded to the other one. That room had plenty of people already who were totally unknown to us. After watching a video, we were out of there as we didn't have much time to watch the video. Then we were taken to the room which had students from another school. They showed a couple of videos to us which were completely related to traffic rules and regulations. Then, we were taken to the other side of the building. I wasn't expecting to come across a recording studio there. They had their own radio line too. When we were done with that building, we took a group photo with some traffic officers. So, this was the end of our field trip and we came back to school.
The school took us to a field visit to Metropolitan Traffic Control (103) at Putalisadak. We went there by bus. First, we went to the control room where the calls of (103) were received. There were live CCTV footage of the main roads of Kathmandu. I recognized some of the places shown in the monitors. We got information on how the traffic is controlled around the Kathmandu valley and how vehicles are recognized. In case of robbery, accidents and other cases on the road, this technology is very helpful. We also went to the class where the people who violated the rules were taught about the traffic rules. The people were given tickets for Ma.Pa.se and who did not follow the lane rules. We also watched some videos about traffic rules in Nepal. We also went to the news editing room and the room where podcasts and talk shows were streamed.
I would like to thank the school and the Traffic Police Division for giving us an opportunity to witness the traffic control system of Nepal.
Some of the rules that I learned from the visit were:
1.) We should wear a helmet while riding a bike.
2.) We should always wear a seatbelt while driving.
3.) We should always walk on footpaths.
4.) We should cross the roads by the zebra crossing, and sky bridge.
5.) We should follow the traffic signs like no parking, no overtaking, no stopping, etc.
6.) We should stay in our lane while driving or riding.
7.) We should follow the speed limits.
8.) We should not use mobile phones while driving or riding.
9.) We should not drink and drive.
