My school organises Hamro Palama each term for specific classes. On this day, we get to know about the past times of our grandparents. They share the events and things that used to be present during their times. One of my friends, Rabi Harsha Adhikari’s grandfather, Mr. Rabindra Adhikari visited our school during the term- II. He shared about his school life and about the struggles people used to face during those times. I got to know that transportation and roads were not as easy as in the present time. He also told us about the types of toys he used to play with when he was a child. He also explained how people used plants and leaves as medicines. We asked many questions and he answered them in a calm way.
The Hamro Palama event day for this term is approaching soon and I am eagerly waiting to know about the earlier days from my friend’s grandparents.
Open Mic is a programme at my school where students can showcase their talents, and this was my second time participating. This term, it was on the 7th of December. In my previous Open Mic, I sang "Memories." This time, I teamed up with Pratyush and Pranav, and we added Drishya as our lead singer. I took on the role of playing the cajon. Together, we decided to perform ACDC's "TNT," and we were all excited about it.
When I got home, my first task was to practise the drum beat of the song. Once that was done, I diligently tackled my homework before going back to rehearse the drum beats. I was ready for the big day.
On the day of the performance, I met Pratyush, and we eagerly searched for Drishya. It turned out his bus was late, causing some stress for our group. We had initially planned to sing "Indreni," but another group had already chosen that song. Time was ticking, and we needed an alternative.
Drishya suggested "Past Lives," but Pranav and Pratyush did not know the chords, and I was not familiar with the beat. Luckily, Mauri's group invited us to join them to sing "We Will Rock You." With Pranav and Pratyush knowing the chords and me familiar with the beats, we gladly accepted.
Our performance of "We Will Rock You" was met with cheers from the audience. Afterward, we were asked to perform it again, and even some teachers, including Yukta ma’am, Reshika ma’am, and Sapana ma’am, requested that we perform "Memories" once more.
After a brief practice, we performed "Memories'' as the last act of the Open Mic. The applause was heartening. After the programme, we gathered outside the school. While chatting with Raj and Ritvik, Ritvik’s mom offered us chicken patties, thinking we might be hungry. Eventually, my mom and Raj’s mom arrived, and as we said our goodbyes, Raj invited me to join him and Aashutosh for another DSN.
I agreed, and with that, we parted ways, looking back on a memorable Open Mic experience.

I love playing all kinds of sports but my favourite is Table Tennis. It is a game played by two or four players. The players stand on the other side of the tennis table and they hit a small ball which is very light. They need to hit the ball over a net on the table.
There are two important movements in Table Tennis. They are Shakehand grip and Penhold grip. The basic things to know inorder to play table tennis are Serve, footwork, spin and timing.
This game was invented in England and was named Ping- Pong.
One of the best and most memorable holidays was the Dashain holiday of 2080. As with other kids, I was also excited about the holidays. After the second terminal exam, my holiday started. On the last day of school, my heart was full of happiness and joy. Finally, the day came to go, Jhapa. That day, I woke up early in the morning because my flight was at 7:30 a.m. I reached Jhapa by enjoying the mountains and cloudy hills. We had a very happy meeting with my grandparents. The days were passing happily. In Dashain, I received tika and jamara from my elders and collected money and blessings. I spent whole days counting the money that I had. After a few days, I went to Dharan and Bhedetar on a trip. These places are naturally beautiful, which I enjoyed a lot. There are so many temples, which I visited. Buds Subba, Pindeshori, Dantakali, Ghantaghar, etc. are some famous places in Dharan. I spent my holiday so nicely.
As we know, everything has its advantages and disadvantages. Though there is wastage of money at festivals, festivals are important. It fills our hearts with happiness, and the great pomp Dashain, Tihar, Holi Chhat, Teej, etc. are some of the most prominent festivals that bring happiness to us every year. Festivals help us to reunite those who are abroad for higher study or for work to get a chance to meet their parents and their own country.

My dad and I wanted to have some sushi today. I had a restaurant in my head that I've always wanted to visit! We chose to go to this restaurant since we had read about it when I was at the theatre. I was ecstatic! In five seconds, I jumped out of bed and quickly got ready. Alright, let me explain my motivation for choosing to visit this restaurant. We get to enjoy sushi and other food while walking in a shallow pool that contains fish under our feet! We then took a car there and entered. Nobody was there when we arrived early in the morning, except for the employees, of course. We had to enter after washing our feet. I decided to wash my feet and discovered there was no toilet while doing so. Thank goodness I didn't need to use the restroom.
A lady advised us to wear boots if we didn't feel comfortable wearing them. Though they considered wearing them, my parents decided not to as well. I could handle the extremely cold water once I got in. I eventually got adjusted to it. We had ramen and spicy tuna sushi. We also received some green tea, which tasted bland and had no sugar, so I didn't like it.
We then had our meal, which was delicious! But, I didn't enjoy the soy sauce. I was bitten by one fish twice and by another three times. I was bitten five times in total. It was time for us to leave after our meal. But, I did not want to go so my parents let me play while they settled the bill. It was really fun to play with them all though they were scared of me. I hope I can go again one day !
One Saturday, we got ready and went to Chandragiri in our uncle's car. We were all so excited for the trip. We bought many snacks to eat on the way. We reached there at 1:00 pm and got tickets for the cable car. The view from the cable car was awesome! We could see the whole Kathmandu valley and Bhaktapur District. We captured pictures of beautiful scenery.
It took a bit to reach the top of the hill.It was so cool and fresh on the top. First we visited a temple, explored the place and ate yummy momos at a restaurant, and took lots of pictures. There was a statue of Prithvi Narayan Shah, and we took pictures with it. We also clicked some photos of the big mountains like Annapurna and Manaslu.
My uncle and dad tried some fun things like free fall and swing. I was also interested to do that but I got scared and did not try that. It looked so cool! After all the fun, we came back home in the cable car and reached our place around 5:00 pm. It was a really great day!
