Brain-Drain : Critical Analysis
- Suvani Karki Lamsal - 29055, ... 11 January, 2023

We are the generation of development. We stand here for a better tomorrow. But, does that mean leaving our country behind? Our country is our motherland. This is our place, our own land. But we are turning selfish. We think about ourselves and not about our country. The country who has invested lakhs and lakhs to every individual. As per the latest report last year 65,000 people went abroad. And today we are going to talk about the same thing.

Leaving our country alone to go abroad and struggle for a different country, is that the happiness we want? Even in our family we find many people struggling to earn some money to sustain their livelihood. Now, our current main headline is migrating. Searching for a better place to study. It is also the carelessness of our government. They just focus on the fields which earn them meals. But now it’s time for our government to focus on the problems about the youngster's education field as well. Most of the young people are influenced by their family members. The person who works abroad sends their family a phone, a tablet for their child, and many more things they work for. They work for hours for other countries to run other countries' business. That is what is happening with us. We are getting brain-drained in our teenage years. Our parents give an example of someone to brain-drain us to leave our country behind. The average number of students leaving Nepal is almost 200. Most high on the list is Canada, USA, and New Zealand. These countries are high on the list because they offer PR (permanent resident). By this facility, people get attracted and take the opportunity to live abroad. For example, before the Fifa World Cup, while the stadium was getting built many Nepalese migrant workers died. There are many Nepali people who are brain-drained to leave abroad. Friends circle also takes part in brain-drain. The most and highest on the list who get brain drained are unskilled people.
According to the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE), nearly 3000 people leave Nepal everyday.Foreign employment gives benefits to the economics of our country and at individual levels, but remittance alone cannot cover the cost of leaving one’s country.

So I am left with a few questions in my mind, can’t our country run itself without sending the young citizens abroad? Is the count of people leaving the country behind our fault? Or is it the government’s fault?

Laws should Be Equal For Everyone
- Prasiddhi Dangol - 28009, Gra ... 10 January, 2023

Laws, when made, are meant to help everyone and make everyone feel appreciated and judged properly. Even though everyone has to follow the law, they still have to face the punishments for their crimes.
Even if they commit heinous crimes, people in our country go unpunished, if they have power. Politicians who commit crimes each day are not only punished but also rewarded by getting elected again and again every single time.
Hearing,
"Laws here are equal for everyone, no one is above or below the law, and equality is given to everyone."
It may appear fair and lovely to us, but the truth that lies beneath it is the polar opposite of what they appear to be.
If you have money and influence in Nepal, you can easily use it to get something for free.People who have the money to buy someone and are influential for others will likely go unpunished, so the country and the individual could save their self-respect. But for people who are not rich, if they do not have any influence on others, they will be punished, and there will be no special treatment for them, unlike the rich people.
People who fit in the so-called "ELITE GROUP" of society are left as they were, even if punishments are given, they are very mild, like 1 day in jail or something like that; but for those who belong to the not-so-elite class of society, it is "FAIR TREATMENT" for them.
Cases of wealthy people are innumerable. For example, if you do a hit-and-run and get caught, if you are rich enough, you can just buy yourself out of it, but if you are poor, you will be treated and dealt with accordingly. So the famous quote-
"Equality before the law is probably forever unattainable. It is a noble ideal, but it can never be realized, for what men value in this world is not rights but privileges."
It just has a dark truth behind it. Overall, people here should just follow their rules, and our country should deal with culprits accordingly and not get bribed for money.
So, does that mean that you will be left unpunished if you have money and influence? And you will be punished fairly if you are seen as poor and unhappy? Does that only mean that the statement "Laws here are equal for everyone; no one is above or below the law, and equality is given to everyone" just means that you will be left unpunished if you are that rich, but when you are not, you will be treated accordingly?
In the context of Nepal, is this the meaning of "fair treatment" in reality, not those lovely words we hear from the government?

- Aaradhya Prasai - 28001, Grad ... 09 January, 2023

Personal Finance
- Suprabh Acharya - 27014, Grad ... 09 January, 2023

Personal finance is an important aspect of life that affects our overall well being and financial security. It includes managing our money, setting financial aims, and making financial decisions. Unfortunately, people struggle with personal finance and may not fully understand the importance of managing their money.

Setting financial goals is an important step in managing our personal money. It lets us identify our financial priorities and create a plan to accomplish them. By setting financial goals, we can work towards financial stability and security, and improve our overall well-being. There are many types of methods for setting financial goals.

The SMART method is one of them. SMART symbolises Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. For example, instead of setting a goal to save more money, the SMART method would be to save Rs5000 within the next month. This goal is specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound as we are saving Rs5000 which is specific, we are aiming for a specific amount which is measurable, the saving is based on our current income which is achievable, we are saving for the future which is relevant, and we are saving for the next month which is the time-bound. By setting SMART financial goals, we can create a plan to accomplish them. This can help us stay motivated and stay on track to reach our financial needs.

Creating a budget is a good way to keep track of our money and make sure we are saving and spending it wisely. A budget is a plan for how we are going to use our money. It helps us understand how much money we have earned and how much money we are spending.

The first step in creating a budget is to keep track of how much money we have earned. This is known as income which might come from a job, gift or anywhere. Next, we need to keep track of how much money we have spent. This is known as expense. Expenses might include things like shopping, giving, fees etc. We can track our income and expenses by writing down everything we spent money on in a certain time span. This helps us keep track of where our money is going and where we can save our money.
Once we know how much income and expenses we have, we can create a budget. It helps to make sure that we have enough money for things we need rather than the things we want. It helps us to save our money for the future.

It's important for us to save money for emergencies, like if we need to go to the doctor or if we get in an accident. It's also important to save money for long term aims, like going to universities or buying our needs.
There are different options for saving our money. One of them is to put our money in a savings account. A savings account is a kind of bank account where you can save your money and earn interest. Interest is a little bit of extra money that the bank pays us for keeping our money in the account.

Another option for saving is to put our money in an investment account. Investment accounts are a way to put our money in different kinds of investments, like the stock market or even cryptocurrency. When we invest our money, we are taking a risk, but we could also earn a lot of money if our investments do well.
It's important to start saving and investing as early as we can. “The earlier we start, the more time our money has to grow.” By saving and investing our money, we can work towards our financial goals and build good wealth for the future.

In conclusion, personal finance is an important aspect of life that affects our overall well-being and financial security. By learning about personal finance, we can work towards financial stability and security. It's never too early to start learning about personal finance and developing good financial habits. By understanding income and expenses, creating a budget, saving and investing, we can take control of our finances and work towards our financial goals. Managing personal finance is a lifelong journey. It's important to stay informed and continue learning about financial management techniques to ensure long-term financial success.

Creator: Ernest Hemingway.

Distributed in: 1952
Class: Fiction

The Old Person and the Sea is a novelette composed by the incomparable Ernest Hemingway in 1951. He composed this book when he was in Cuba. It was distributed in 1952. This is the last book he composed before he died. The Old Man and the Sea was likewise granted the Pulitzer Prize in 1953. This book is about a sad angler, San-Tiago, who doesn't get a fish for 84 days. He never surrenders and eventually gets an epic Marlin. He fights endless sharks to get this fish. This book at last helps us to never surrender.

Plot: Subsequently, tragically the elderly folks of his youthful, loving partner and friend, Manolin, have dragooned the kid to disappear from the elderly person to grab in a crisp flourishing vessel. In any case, the kid keeps on appearing to be out for the older Joe upon his return every evening. He assists the elderly person with moving his gear to his rickety lodge, gets vittles for him, and talks about a definitive movement in American baseball, extraordinarily the crosses of the elderly person's legend, DiMaggio . Santiago is tone-comforted that his useless band will be ahead lengthy nearly to an end, and he takes steps to explore our past rather than standard-issue the resulting day. On his 85th day, he goes far out to the ocean. He readies his lacings and drops them. Around early afternoon , a fish, which he knows is a marlin, takes the trap that Santiago has put somewhere deep in the waters. The elderly person perfectly snares the fish, however he can't attract it. Ideally, the fish starts to draw the vessel. Unfit to pull the string, he tries as hard as he can. The elite second, Santiago gets through constant agony from the line . At the point when the fish rushes, hops, or makes a drive for power, the binding cuts Santiago wretchedly. Although injured and wiped out, the elderly person feels a significant sympathy and reference for the marlin, his blood in torment, authority, and conclusiveness.

On the third day, the fish tires, and Santiago, who is injured and tired, figures out how to attract the marlin sufficiently close to kill it with a pikestaff push. Short of breath next to the dinghy, the marlin is the biggest Santiago has at any point seen. He whips it to his vessel, raises the thin pole, and sets the section for home. While Santiago is cheerful by the charge that the marlin will change over at interest, he's additionally worried that individuals who will consume the fish are contemptible of its matchless quality. As Santiago sections on with the fish, the marlin's race leaves a trail inside the water and draws in nags. The chief in charge might be a capable mako wolf, which Santiago figures out how to kill with the shaft. Inside the fight, the elderly person loses the shaft and spreads enhancement binding, which leaves him gambled to far off wolf assaults. Santiago fends off the progressive horrifying bloodsuckers as best he can, going through at them with a crude trident he makes by lashing a knife to a string, and for sure interfacing them with the vessel's boatsman. Despite the fact that he kills a few shrews, another and new appear, and by the moment dimness falls, Santiago's perdured conflict against the foragers is unrealistic. They consume the marlin's luxurious meat, abandoning just the units, head, and tail. Santiago chastises himself for crossing " outside heinously far, " and for offering his total and commendable parallel. He gets back prior to morning, staggers back to his lodge, and dozes legitimately profoundly. The next morning, a mass of shocked anglers assembles around the squandered remaining parts of the fish, which is discreetly lashed to the vessel. Conveying no one of the elderly person's battle, sightseers at an adjoining bistro separate the remaining parts of the colossal marlin and mistake it for a wolf. Manolin, who has been irritated and debilitated over the elderly person's need, is moved to cuts when he finds Santiago secure in his cushion. The kid gets the elderly person an espresso and thus the everyday reports with the baseball hard feelings, and watches him rest. At the point when the elderly person wakes, the 2 consent to grab as mates one time once more. The elderly person gets back to rest and dreams his standard-issue illusion of wilderness rulers at amusement on the beachside of Africa.

Criticization (Critical Analysis): "A man can be obliterated yet not crushed" - Ernest Hemingway. This book, "The Elderly Person and the Ocean '' is a book that Mr. Hemingway composed as his very own theoretical life. The majority of the storylines from the book are from Ernest Hemingway's biography. The fight between the sharks and the elderly person is a theory of the fight among Hemingway and his declining wellbeing. However Hemingway is not with us now, his story will be for the rest of time unfading. This book gives us a limitless measure of life illustrations on the off chance that we read it cautiously. We learn illustrations that assist us with carrying on with our everyday life. As I would see it, this book has shown me significantly more life.

Dignified Menstruation
- Suprabh Acharya - 27014, Grad ... 22 December, 2022

It is said that dignified menstruation is everyone's responsibility. Menstruation is a natural process of cleaning a woman's body. But in our country Nepal, it is connected to religion and the women are forced to stay separate from other family members.

We should not let menstruation affect women's self respect and their health. Saying this, for the first time in the world in the year 2076 BS, Radha Paudel Foundation decided to do a 16 day campaign against women violence in Nepal. Similarly, in 2077 BS the dignified menstruation day was organized on 23rd, 24th and 25th of Mangsir in Nepal. In which the government of Nepal, Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens and the National Human Rights Commision also participated. Now, violence of women's rights is considered against the law. Only celebrating festivals will not change the evil so we have to do what we can from our side to bring a change in the society.

During menstruation, women suffer from abdominal pain so special attention should be given towards their diet and hygiene. Clean clothes or sanitary pads should be used during menstruation. But in our country, it is considered impure and there is a custom to stay in the Chaugoth. The women of western Nepal have started various campaigns saying that women should be able to go to schools during menstruation, they should be able to eat food as usual, and should be able to go to religious places. We have often seen in the media that women are afraid of snakes, there is lack of oxygen and hygiene problems when they live in ‘chaugoth’.

In the year 2016, the suffocation death of 21 year old Parvati Budha Rawat of Achham district while living in Chaugoth shows that menstruation is not dignified in many places of Nepal. Section 168 of the Civil Crimes Act states that “during menstruation or childbirth women should not be confined or subjected to other discrimination, untouchability or inhumane treatment.” It has been 4 years since the start of the dignified menstruation campaign but still ‘chaugoth’ in the western districts have not been demolished. The settlements that were demolished are also being remade by the villagers which shows that awareness hasn’t reached in rural areas of our country.

We should eliminate violence against women and give responsibility to dignified menstruation. December 8 is celebrated as the Dignified Menstruation Day but if we make it worthy everyday rather than celebrating only one day it will help in building a good society.

The Spirit Friend
- Shreevaani Dhungel - 29044, G ... 22 December, 2022

There was once a Spirit, whose screams and cries nobody would see. But it's the horrifying self everyone would see. The spirit chose someone to talk to and to get help for avenging them. There is a chosen one who will avenge the Spirit, I speak avenge!
Dianne was a great student. Studious, Attentive, Confident. She had all the qualities almost one could never ever have. She was the smartest in her class. She was liked, loved by a lot of people. There was one mysterious thing about her, she always carried a diary and would write something and show it to the air which made the people wonder. Once, someone asked about her diary and she froze and said "wait, don't you know Frankie? the deaf and mute kid here? I write in this diary to tell her stuff." The student almost passed out. Still it was left as a mystery.
One day, her mother was cleaning her room and she saw the diary. The things written there were almost not normal at first. There was her handwriting and then another handwriting. Her mother asked Dianne about it and she said that there was a deaf and mute kid named Frankie at her school and she would write there for her.
The next day, her mother went and asked the school if there was a girl who was mute and deaf and named Frankie. There was no response. They looked at their record and saw a girl whose name was Frankie and if she was deaf and mute. The principal said "There was a girl named that but she died a year ago because of cancer." Diannes mother was shocked.
The days went by, Dianne's mom sent Dianne to hundreds of therapists and doctors but then there was no hope. She once had heard about wizards and she thought about sending Dianne to that wizard named Mars. She went there with her daughter. The wizard took her to the room and asked "Tell me about your friend Dianne"  Dianne said "My friend is Frankie Williams. She is 14. She studies with me. She is deaf and mute." "Tell me about her looks," the wizard said. "She has brown silky hair, green eyes, kinda thin, V shaped chin, Wearing a wool sweater, the color is splashed with red" Dianne said.
After that, the wizard left the room without Dianne and said to her mother "Your daughter is the chosen one, she can talk to spirits. You see, long ago there was a man named Xavier. He was a researcher of mysteries . He said "The chosen one is the one who is connected to the greatest spirit in the world and they will disappear someday but that someday can be any day". Then suddenly they heard a huge scream out of the blue they both rushed and saw that Dianne's body was there she was dead. "Her time has come, she will be blessed by the dead, she will be blessed by the most superior gods, The ray of hope" the wizard said.
