If I Were A Raindrop
- Sauharda Bajracharya - 26010, ... 23 June, 2021

If I were a raindrop, I would be pattering over the window of some random person’s house. I would just be lying there with my other fellow raindrops watching the view of the beautiful nature. Me and my other fellow raindrops would be there sitting in the window appreciating nature. I would have many feelings and I would be helpful and unhelpful at the same time. I would be happy and sad simultaneously and here is why.

The reason I would be helpful is because I would give life to plants and trees. I was created by nature and I would help nature in return. I alone wouldn’t be able to help these many trees and plants but just imagine, millions of raindrops falling from the sky watering the plants. Small children would be excited and would come in the small pools of water that me and my fellow raindrops made. They would row paper boats and laugh with so much fun that I would quietly watch them play.

They say ‘A drop of water makes an ocean’ and hey, they are not wrong. Imagine if, oceans, seas, lakes, rivers all dried out. Me and my fellow raindrops would be the VIP in that situation. I would make the crops grow and children would make smiley faces on their car windows. People would enjoy the relaxing sound of the rain. Some loner would love to sit by a window and see me falling from the window pane and picture memories in her mind that would probably make her either happy or sad.  These all would bring joy to my heart and soul as I would allow people’s emotions to flow out vividly.

All good things aside, I would be unhelpful to many people. I would make their clothes wet, people in the house  would have to rush to their rooftops to take down the clothes. I would make the roads wet, many people would slip and get injured from me. I would ruin birthday parties or marriages. If it rains too heavily, I would cause floods like right now in Melamchi and I would also cause a tsunami. If this happens, hundreds and thousands of people would be homeless and some might even die. This is how I am if you see me from the other side of the coin.

People would not be prepared for the rain and would be drenched with water, rain haters would not  like it. People who just got their cars washed would not be happy. People without umbrellas wouldn’t be happy at all. Then after me, the mighty Sun would come up with all its power and that would be the end of me. I would somewhere be floating in the clouds waiting to wet the earth all over again.

- Mansi Singh - 27008, Grade VI ... 22 June, 2021

Martyrs of Nepal
- Aakanchya Khadka - 27001, Gra ... 22 June, 2021

Martyrs or Shahid in Nepali is a term for someone who is executed while contributing for the welfare of the country. This term was originally used for people who died while opposing Rana's rule. Lakhan Thapa is regarded as the first martyr of Nepal. Every year on the 16th of Magh we remember and honor all people who died fighting for the welfare of our country. Shahid gate located near Tudikhel is made in honor of our four martyrs Sukraraj Sastri, Dasrath Chand, Ganga Lal and Dharma Bhakta Mathema who lost their lives during the Rana regime which ended in 1951. Dasrath Cand  born in 1903 A.D is a martyr of Neplese Democrative movement and was an active politician of Nepal. He got motivated  by Indian democracy and joined in Paja Rratishthan. Paja Pratishthan was a group working against the Rana regime.

Ganga Lal tester born in 1999 was also a member of Praja Pratishthan. He was arrested in 1939 for giving a speech. Shukla Shastri born in 1824 Varanasi India was a social reformer and author who wrote books in Nepali language. After returning to Nepal he joined the democratic struggle and gave a speech against the Rana at Indira Chowk and said that  Ranas were taking away the rights of people. For the speech he got arrested for 6 years. Dharma Bhakta Mathema was a professional bodybuilder and also one of the founders of Nepal Praja Pratishthan. King Tribhuvan was also impressed by his body building skills that he took to make him his  personal trainer.

There was a secret meeting going on in Lainchaur to fight  against Rana rule having included King Tribuwan after the meeting was leaked by Ramji Joshi in reward of Rs5000 many  of the members of Praja Pratishthan were arrested. At that time there was the belief that if a Brahmin was killed you would die in hell so many of the people having Brahmin caste were not killed but taken out of the country. On 28 January 1941 Ganga was captured and shot in Subah Bhagwati on the bank of Bishnumati river. On 24th January 1941 Sukraraj Sastri was hanged in Pachali, Teku ,Kathmandu while Dharma bhakta Mathema was hanged in Sifal Height at midnight.

CLIMATE CHANGE
- Ashish Dahal - 27004, Grade V ... 21 June, 2021

Climate change includes both global warmings driven by human-induced emissions of greenhouse gases and in the resulting large-scale shift of the weather patterns. Although there have been previous climate changes since the mid 20-century humans have unexpectedly impacted the earth's climate change system. Global warming is often linked to the burning of fossil fuels—coal, oil, and natural gas—by industries and cars. It is also linked to the destruction of tropical forests. Such human activity has increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by more than 20 percent in the past 100 years.
The term global warming first appeared in geochemist Wallace Broecker's 1975 Science magazine article, "Climatic Change Are We on the Brink of a Pronounced Global Warming?" Scientists began studying the effect of greenhouse gases on Earth's climate more than a century prior, however, as early as 1820. It was during this time that French scientist Joseph Fourier first discovered that Earth's atmosphere functions to retain the sun's heat. In the early 1900s, Serbian astrophysicist Milutin Milankovitch also identified the long-term climate change effects of natural fluctuations in Earth's orbit as well as the tilt and precession of its axis.
Since then, scientists and policymakers have worked to better understand the workings of the atmosphere, as well as how to respond to challenges created by climate change. As a human I think this cross-cutting issue of global warming and climate change should be taken very seriously. It has an adverse effect on our environment and our lives directly. The more we are concerned about climate change, the more effective our steps would be to protect our mother earth.

- Anushree Acharya - 28002, Gra ... 20 June, 2021

History Of Computer
- Eshita Lal - 28015, Grade VI ... 20 June, 2021

A computer is an electronic device that can perform a variety of tasks at a very high speed. We can also say that it converts the raw data into useful information.
Computers also have history; the term ‘computer’ is derived from the Latin word ‘computare' which means to calculate. The first counting device is Abacus. It included a frame, rods, and beads.
After Abacus was invented more calculating devices were invented like: Slide rule and Napier’s Bones. Until then finally, the first electrical computer was made. The Analytical Engine. It was invented by Charles Babbage. But due to the lack of technology and devices, he didn’t succeed. He was then called the father of computer science.

Lady Augusta Ada Lovelace was a mathematician. She worked with Charles Babbage and made the first programm. Thus, she was known as the first programmer. Then Dr. Herman Hollerith invented the punched card. He had invented it for his own work but he didn’t know he made an invention. Then he was awarded.

The First Generation of computer was huge in size, was very slow, and consumed a lot of electricity. It is known as vacuum tubes. As the first generation computer had many disadvantages, The Trio-group made The Transistor. Then after the third and fourth generation computers finally the fifth generation of the computer was invented which we are using nowadays. Computers are now becoming faster and effective than they were ever before.

Nowadays computers can do tasks at very high speed without making mistakes, can do a task repeatedly, have a large storage capacity, etc. Modern computers may be very small and very big too. We are living in an era where we cannot imagine our lives without computers. This is one of the greatest inventions by humans in the history of humankind.

Time and tide wait for none
- Prasiddhi Dangol - 28009, Gra ... 17 June, 2021

Since we all know the story of the rabbit and the tortoise but in case you don't know let me briefly narrate it for you. Once upon a time, there was a rabbit and a tortoise, the rabbit was of course very fast but the tortoise was slow. Everyone in the community always praised the rabbit for his skills and the rabbit always used to humiliate the tortoise. One day rabbit challenged the tortoise for race competition and the tortoise agreed because he didn't want any more humiliation so the race was held after a few days. During the race, the tortoise was very slow but on the other hand, the rabbit was very fast he reached half of the distance within a few minutes but the tortoise was very slow when he arrived the half distance he decided to take some rest. He laid on the ground and took some rest but he accidentally fell asleep. The tortoise was slow but he worked hard and he was about to cross the finish line when the rabbit woke up. When he got to the finish line he was late and the tortoise was celebrating his victory while the rabbit was very sad about his loss. l am sure that after reading the story you might have got the perfect example of how time and tide slip away without waiting for anyone else. So when we have the chance to utilize our time we never should turn back. We should always utilize our time as it is very important for us to achieve success. If we do not utilize the time when we should we will never achieve success in life. So if we are not utilizing our time right now it's high time now that we start utilizing it because Time and Tide wait for none.

MY VIEW ON POLITICS
- Aaniya Poudel - 27002, Grade ... 16 June, 2021

Politics is very important to have a prosperous country and harmonious life for the citizens. It is something that can change people’s minds and lives. There are people who try to develop our country by getting engaged with politics. Some people only think and care about three things: money, power, and post. When they are a candidate they make many promises. There are many things that they say as they talk about developments and the well-being of the people. They talk about eradicating poverty and end discrimination and suffering. But soon after they become a leader by getting votes in elections, they forget about the promises that they made . They forget about the development of the country. They forget what they had said to the citizens. After the power comes in their hands they do not remember what their duties and responsibilities are. They get engaged in corruption as we know how corrupt our system is. This is because of our mistakes too, because we fall for their fake promises time and again and give them the power they don’t really deserve.  We know they wouldn’t work for the well-being of the citizens but still give them our precious vote just to make those corrupt leaders more powerful that would make them richer and make our country poorer.  In my opinion, new candidates should be given a chance and allow to have a position so that we may see differences if they can make it. Voting the same old corrupt candidates means making the same mistake again and again.
