I don’t keep myself updated with political news but I am a bit interested in current affairs. I have observed my mother following the event of Miss Nepal 2023 with great enthusiasm. She knows all the participants’ names and their qualities. This drew my attention and I too spent my time staying updated with the event. The annual event took place in Lalitpur on 27th may. This was the 27th edition of Miss Nepal Pageant.
Starting off with a few facts, Miss Nepal competition started in Nepal in the year 1994. There was a lot of debate when this program got introduced as beauty pageants had never happened in the country before. However, in spite of lots of oppose, the program got conducted and Ms. Ruby Rana Shah was crowned the first Miss Nepal.
Coming back to 2023, the event had 24 participants who had been selected on the basis of regional auditions made throughout the country. The participants were then groomed by experts for about 2 months.
The top 5 finalists presented very well on topics provided by the judges. I really liked Ms. Prasiddhy Shah’s views on ‘Tourism Development Possibilities’. It was a tough competition as all of the participants were really competitive. However, Ms. Srichchha Pradhan won the title of Miss Nepal 2023.
There was a man who was very close to me and had a special place in my heart. He was born in a remote area of Nepal. When he was born, his family was wealthy in the village. However, when he was four years old, his father left him and his mother, who were then raised by his grandparents and uncle in the same village. He used to mention that his father and grandfather often fought over the family property, which was ultimately inherited by his grandfather's brothers simply because his father was born later in the family. After a few years, his father brought him and his mother to Terai, a region where the temperature could reach 40 °C, making it extremely hot. Despite the heat, he would walk 21 kilometres every day from his new home to school, and he even enjoyed cycling to school. He excelled in his studies, and his father would provide him with additional homework, along with his school assignments, to keep him engaged in books. After completing his homework, he would go play in the community forest with his friends, who were mostly from the Tharu community. They would play together and hunt crabs, enjoying delicious crab barbecues. Although he had a joyful childhood, he remained focused on his future aspirations. His dream was to become a scientist and work at NASA. One day, while playing with a puppy alongside his brother and sister, he did not hear his mother calling for help. Upon his return, he found that his mother had passed away. At the age of 12, he lost his mother, and this tragic life started. A few years later, his father married his own aunt. In pursuit of his dreams, he came to Kathmandu for further studies. Unfortunately, due to poverty, his father was unable to provide him with enough money to support his studies and living expenses. Consequently, he could not complete his higher education and started working to save money for his future studies. However, when he met a girl who showed him the love he had been missing since childhood, he became deeply involved in family matters but still could not finish his studies. Nevertheless, he has become an entrepreneur and continues to carry a dream that he aims to fulfil in the future. This man is incredibly interesting to me and serves as an inspiration, as he possesses remarkable resilience in life and never ceases to chase his dreams.
बुद्ध भगवान नेपालमा जन्मिनु भएको हो । बुद्ध भगवानको नाम सिद्धार्थ गौतम हो । बुद्ध भगवानको जन्म लुम्बिनीको कपिलवस्तुमा भएको थियो । उहाँको बुबाको नाम शुद्धोधन हो । उहाँ लुम्बिनीकाे कपिलवस्तु राज्यका राजा हुनुहुन्थ्यो । उहाँ एकदिन सहर घुम्न गएका बेलामा उहाँले बुढो मान्छे, राेगी मान्छे, मरेको मान्छे देखेर मान्छे किन बुढो हुन्छ ? किन मर्छ ? भन्ने प्रश्न उहाँको मनमा आयो तर त्यसको उत्तर पाउन सक्नुभएन । उहाँकाे विवाह यशोधरा सँग भयो । उहाँ एकदिन आफ्नो घर परिवार र दरबार सबै छोडेर ज्ञानको खोजीमा हिँड्नुभयाे । उहाँले बाेधी रुखमुनि तपस्या गरेर ज्ञान प्राप्त गर्नुभयो ।
रुख एउटा सजीव प्राणी हाे । सानाे बिरुवा पछि गएर ठुलाे रुख बन्छ । रुख भएन भने हामी बाँच्न सक्दैनाैँ । रुखले हामीलाई अक्सिजन दिन्छ । हामीले सास फेर्न पाउँछाैँ । धेरै रुख भएकाे ठाउँलाई जङ्गल भनिन्छ । जङ्गल चराचुरुङ्गी र वन्यजन्तुकाे बासस्थान हाे ।रुख नभए चराचुरुङ्गी र बन्यजन्तुकाे बासस्थान पनि समाप्त हुन्छ । रुखबाट घाँस दाउरा पनि पाइन्छ । झ्याल,ढाेका बनाउन प्रयाेग गरिने काठ पनि रुखबाट नै प्राप्त हुन्छ । धेरै रुख भएकाे ठाउँमा पानी धेरै पर्छ ।
रुखले हामीलाई बाढी पहिराेबाट बचाउँछ । रुखले वातावरणलाई सुन्दर र रमणीय बनाउँछ । हामीले रुख कहिल्यै काट्नुहुँदैन । एउटा रुख काटेमा धेरै रुख रोप्नुपर्छ । खाली ठाउँमा रुख रोप्नुपर्छ । रुख बिरुवाले वातावरणलाई हरियाली बनाउँछ । रुखले हामीलाई विभिन्न प्रकारबाट फाइदा पुर्याएको छ ।
Rubik’s cube is a 3D puzzle which is very hard to solve. According to the information I found in the box of my Rubik's cube, it was invented in 1974 by Hungarian architecture professor Erno Rubik. Some other names for the Rubik’s cube are Magic cube, Speed cube and Puzzle cube.
The tiny cubes called “cubies” create a truly challenging puzzle. A Rubik’s cube has six sides with nine little cubies attached to it and each side has the same colour. Red, Yellow, Blue, Orange, White and Green are the most common colours. The cubes can be rotated and twisted along rows and faces. The aim of this puzzle is to make each face of the cube possess the same coloured cubies.
There are many kinds of Rubik’s cube like 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, etc. The original Rubik’s cube is the 3x3. I got to know from my research on the Internet that the fastest 3x3 solution was done by a talented 9-year-old Chinese boy named Yiheng Wang. Different patterns of Rubik’s cube are available these days. Some of them are megaminx cube, pyraminx cube, rubik's clock, mirror cube, square 1 etc.
Rubik’s cube is an exciting puzzle and we can use many methods to solve it.
Looking at those cute little birds flying high, I sometimes wish I was one of them too! If I were a bird, the very first thing I would do was fly high and low to visit many places on earth. I would visit distant lands, watch different lives and enjoy different types of grains and fruits. I would also make many friends who of course would be birds of various species. I would have no lessons to learn apart from flying, I would have no schools to attend to. I would keep flying here and there and enjoy each moment. I would build a beautiful nest for myself and would collect and store a lot of food to enjoy. I would have nothing to worry about and I would be a happy little birdie!
The birds are flying in the bright blue sky,
children are saying to each other goodbye.
Everyone enjoying their delicious food,
enjoying the day, in their own happy mood.
Everyone is walking in the park,
and the dogs that love to bark.
Just admire today’s day,
and the sun’s bright and warm rays.

मैले जीवनमा धेरै यात्रा गरेकाे छु । मेराे रमाइलाे यात्रा भनेकाे नगरकाेट यात्रा हाे । नगरकाेट भक्तपुर जिल्लामा पर्दाे रहेछ । नगरकाेट जान म चावहिलदेखि हिँडेँ ।म नगरकाेट गाडीमा गएकाे थिएँ । मसँग दिदी,बहिनी,फुपा र फुई पनि हुनुहुन्थ्याे । भक्तपुरको भाटभटिनी पुगेपछि हामीले गाडी रोक्यौँ । हामी सबै भाटभटिनीभित्र पस्यौँ ।मैले त्यहाँ kfc पनि खाएँ ।त्यसपछि हामी नगरकोट जान गाडीमा बस्यौँ । हामीले गाडीमा वर्ण विन्यासको खेल खेल्यौँ । नगरकोट अग्लो डाँडामा रहेछ । हामी आफ्नो होटेलमा पुग्यौँ ।त्यहाँ मैले पौडी खेलेँ । पौडी खेल्दा साँझ पर्यो । त्यसपछि हामी खाना खान गयौँ ।त्यहाँ ११ प्रकारको खाना थियो । यति धेरै परिकारका खाना मैले पहिलो पटक देखेको थिएँ ।खाना खाएपछि हामी सुत्यौँ । बिहान उठेर घुम्न गयौँ ।नगरकोट प्राकृतिक रूपमा निकै सुन्दर रहेछ ।नगरकोटबाट धेरै हिमालहरू देखिँदा रहेछन् ।मैले नगरकोटको बारेमा किताबमा पढेको थिएँ । किताबमा पढेको कुरा आफैंले देख्न पाउँदा मैले धेरै ज्ञान प्राप्त गरेँ ।
Recently, I had a nightmare and it has not left my mind since the time I saw it.
In my dream, I was locked inside a room. I was struggling to come out; banging on the doors, windows and everything!
It was my uncle's room downstairs. I saw a beanbag and I tried making the loudest sound banging the bag so that I could make my parents or grandparents hear me. I slipped my hand through a small space down the door to make myself feel noticed.
I continuously knocked, shouted and did every possible thing to let others know I was locked in. I could see my dog out of the window. I knocked and slapped the window pane too but even my dog didn't notice that.
Finally, I heard footsteps. I started banging on the door again. I peeped out through a hole in the door and saw my grandma passing by. So I banged and screamed for help. She just went out!
"Why is everyone ignoring me?" I thought.
My grandfather also came running downstairs and went out.
I screamed, "I'M HERE, NOT OUT THERE!" but it was too late.
I was really tired and hopeless when I saw my father trying to feed the turtle. I tried to call him but now my voice was gone!
I felt like I was going to get locked in forever when my father came and opened the door! He had something behind him. It was a huge plushie that looked like a tiger. My father said," IT'S AN ORANGE TIGER!!" I was scared. It came towards me and then everything was blank. And then, I woke up covered in sweat!
On the first day of fifth grade, I was so excited about going back to school and starting a new year. When I arrived at school, I was excited about meeting new teachers and classmates. I greeted my friends and was introduced to some new friends. There I met with my class teacher; she took our attendance, and we played a game called "Grand Ma’s Trunk," which helps us know each other's names. After that, she took us on a school tour. We visited all the classes, washrooms, recording room, science labs, maths lab canteen, and many other places.
At 10:35, it was our lunch break. During my lunch break, I noticed that we were given a plate instead of a bowl like we did in elementary school. It was a small difference, but it made me feel more grown-up and like I was entering a new phase of my education. All day long, we played games and learned new things in class. It was a fun and engaging experience. I felt energised by the new challenges and opportunities that middle school brought.
One of the things I really like about my school is the green and clean environment. There were even two cats who lived there, adding fun and playfulness to the overall environment.
Overall, the first day of 5th grade was a huge success. I felt excited, motivated, and ready to take on the new challenges and adventures that awaited me next year.
म, मेरी आमा र मेराे बुबा धेरै उत्साहित थियाैँ किनभने भाेलिपल्ट २०८० सालकाे नयाँ वर्ष थियाे । नयाँ वर्ष मनाउन हामीले पाेखरा जाने याेजना बनाएका थियाैँ । त्यसैले सबैजना खुसीले रमाइरहेका थियाैँ । तर हामी त्यहाँ पुगेपछि हामीले फ्लाइट क्यान्सिल भएकाे रहेछ भनेर थाहा पायाैँ । मलाई कस्ताे नरमाइलाे लाग्याे । के गर्ने भनेर एकछिन त आमा र बुबाले छलफल गर्नुभयाे । छलफल गर्न सकेपछि हामी गाडीमा बसेर क्लब हिमालयतर्फ लाग्याैँ । त्यहाँ पुगेपछि हामीले खाना खायाैँ । त्यसपछि मैले ट्याम्पाेलिन र पिङ खेलेँ । मेरी आमा र मैले टेबलटेनिस खेल्याैँ । मलाई धेरै रमाइलाे लाग्याे । त्यसपछि मलाई धेरै थकाइ लागेकाेले हामी सबैजना घर फर्कियाैँ ।
बाल बालिकाले पाउने हक अथवा अधिकारलाई बाल अधिकार भनिन्छ । १८ वर्षभन्दा मुनिका व्यक्तिहरू बाल बालिका हुन् ।बाल बालिकाले बाँच्न ,विकास हुन ,आफ्ना विचारहरू राख्न पाउने नीतिगत व्यवस्था नै बाल अधिकार हाे । बाल अधिकारभित्र नाम र राष्ट्रियताकाे अधिकार ,आमा बुबासँग बस्न पाउने अधिकार ,बाल बालिकाकाे विचार प्रकट गर्न पाउने अधिकार,शिक्षाकाे अधिकार,खेल्न र रमाउन पाउने अधिकार,बाँच्न पाउने अधिकार,शारीरिक सुरक्षााकाे अधिकार,पाेसिलाे खाना खान पाउने अधिकार आदि पर्दछन् ।सबै बाल बालिकाकाे बाँच्न पाउने अधिकार छ । आमाकाे न्यानाे काखमा बस्न पाउने अधिकार छ तर कतिपय बाल बालिका यी सबै कुराबाट वन्चित छन् । उनीहरू आमा बाबासँग बस्न पाएका छैनन् । पढ्न पाएका छैनन् । मिठाे खान पाएका छैनन् ।सानै उमेरदेखि कठिन काम गरेका हुन्छन् । अरूकाे घरमा बसेर काम गरेका छन् । याे दुःख लाग्दाे कुरा हाे ।बाल बालिकाहरू बाल अधिकारबाट वन्चित हुनुहुँदैन ।सबैले बराबरी अधिकार पाउनुपर्छ ।
