Social media has now become a huge part of our day-to-day life. But after the rise of different social media platforms, there has definitely been an uptick in narcissism, and this phenomenon doesn’t seem to be going away. Although narcissism is considered the modern epidemic, the term narcissism originated about 2000 years ago. The term originated with the legend of Narcissus who was a Greek hunter that fell in love with his own shadow and was so obsessed and fixated on himself which led him to his end.

The psychological definition of narcissism is a more exaggerated grandiosity. A narcissist is a person who thinks that they’re more important than others and needs special importance and attention. According to literature, narcissism is a set of behaviors that mainly focuses on keeping oneself high and putting other people down. There are also different types of narcissists which are mainly categorized into four different types. Grandiose narcissists think that they’re above all and are also arrogant. They also seek limelight and power. However, covert or vulnerable narcissists always blame the world for not seeing their so-called “greatness”. Communal narcissists, however, like to boast about all the good work they do for the helpless or how kind-hearted they are, but inside they lack empathy. And lastly, malignant ones are the narcissists who commit crimes. These narcissists like to steal, lie, and cheat without caring about anyone else other than themselves.

Now, although social media might seem innocent in the matter of narcissism and narcissists, it has become the perfect playground to show off their “fake personas”. The simple existence of such social media platforms has now made it possible for narcissists to gain attention and validation from the entire world instead of just from their connections. As opposed to the previous generation, today’s narcissists are more pathological attention-seekers than before. But social media is not just casually connected to narcissism, it is creating different types of narcissists as well. Mostly, grandiose narcissism was linked to social media more than vulnerable narcissism. Narcissists with a high level of superiority were shown to tend to use Twitter rather than Facebook. However, narcissists with a high exhibitionism were shown to prefer Facebook and Instagram.

Social media is making things worse as social media platforms have created an environment where the number of likes and followers is a scale of fame and success which fuels the obsession with attention and validation in the youth. This can lead to a kind of cycle or addiction where young adults are 24/7 seeking and reliant on likes and followers in order to boost their self-esteem. Also, to constantly maintain their social media persona that they have adapted to, they can become obsessively concerned with how others perceive them, thus creating or fueling a narcissist.

In conclusion, social media has now become sort of a breeding ground for narcissists through which they can fuel their need for validation or attention. Thus, social media is in fact making us more narcissistic.

कतार र नेपालको दौत्य सम्बन्ध कायम भएको देश हो। कतार एक सानो राज्य हो। यो मध्य पूर्वी भागमा रहेको छ। यसको जनसंख्या थोरै छ,तर पनि यो देश निकै विकसित छ। यसको आर्थिक स्रोत भनेको पेट्रोलियम पदार्थ प्रचुर मात्रामा उपलब्ध हुनु हो। यसको अन्य आय स्रोत अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय व्यापार र पर्यटन हुन्। यस देशको पर्यटन बृद्धिमा कतार ऐरवेजले पनि ठुलो योगदान पुर्‍याएको छ। यस ऐर्वेजको सेवा संसारका विभिन्न मुलुकमा उपलब्ध छ। नेपालमा पनि दैनिक दुइ पल्ट यो जहाज आउने गरेको छ। यसले नेपाललाई धेरै कुराहरूमा सहयोग पुर्‍याएको छ। जस्तै : नेपालका धेरै बेरोजगार युवाहरू कतारमा काम गर्छन् । त्यसैले नेपालको अर्थतन्त्रलाई टेवा पुर्‍याएको छ। कतारका राजा हालैमात्र नेपाल आउनुभएको थियो। त्यस अवसरमा नेपालले सार्वजनिक बिदा पनि दिएको थियो। यस मैत्रीपूर्ण भ्रमणका बेला कतारका राजाले नेपालका राष्ट्रपति, प्रधानमन्त्री र अन्य उच्च पदस्त व्यक्तिहरूसँग भेटघाट र सहयोगका छेत्रहरू बारे कुराकानी गर्नुभएको थियो। यस अवसरमा आपसी सहयोगका लागि दुई देशबिच केही समजदारी पत्रमा हस्ताक्षर भएको थियो। कतारका राजाको भव्यताकासाथ स्वागत र बिदाइ भएको थियो। उपहार स्वरुप वहाँलाई दुई वटा हात्ती पनि दिइएको थियो। यस भ्रमणबाट दुई देशकाे आपसी सम्बन्धमा सम्भाव्यताका बाटाहरू खुल्नेछन्। सार्वजनिक

I woke up feeling refreshed in the morning. I decided to take a shower and went to the bathroom. After my shower, I went to the kitchen and had breakfast. There were sandwiches and tea. I had them and then packed my bag and got ready. My mother had told me that there wasn’t any specific uniform at Sifal School. So, I wore my favourite dress. At 8:15 AM, my dad and I went to the bus stop and waited for the bus. After a while, the bus arrived, and I nervously went in. It took 25 minutes to reach the school from Sangam Chowk, my first time travelling by school bus. 

We reached the school at 8:30, and I went to the classroom, which was on the ground floor and equipped with an AC. I was happy to see my new friends, teacher, and school. Finding nobody in the class, I decided to explore the school and went to the lobby, where I saw our class teacher, Ankita Pokharel ma'am, who was also our English teacher.

It was time for our first period and I went to the classroom. There, I met many friends and sat with my friend Prasun, who was kind and helpful. Later, ma'am asked us to introduce ourselves, as there were three new students including me. After taking some classes, we had lunch. The chicken and rice set was very tasty. I took some more classes and went for snacks.Then, it was soon time to get into the bus. I enjoyed my new school. I hope to do better here.

परिचयः

हाम्रो स्कुल एउटा बाल उपन्यास हो । यस उपन्यासका लेखक तेजप्रकाश श्रेष्ठ हुन् । यो उपन्यसको चित्रकार स्व. एकराम सिंह हुन् । यस उपन्यासलाई बालसंसार प्रा.लि. ले प्रकाशन गरेको हो । यस उपन्यासमा रमेश, उनको विद्यालयको परिवेशलाई देखाउन खोजिएको छ।

पात्रहरूः

मुख्य पात्रः यस बाल उपन्यासको मुख्य पात्र रमेश हो ।अन्य पात्रहरूः आइते, कमला, रमेशकी आमा, तिमिला गुरुआमा, दिनेश सर, प्रअ लामा, आशा गुरुआमा, दोर्जे, बिमल सर,च्यान्टी,सुन्तली काइँली, जमुना, लेम्बु आदि रहेका छन् ।

कथावस्तुः

रमेश आमासँग विद्यालयको गृहकार्य छैन भनि आइतेसँग खेल्न दौडन्छ । ऊ आमाले जति कराउँदा पनि गृहकार्य छैन भनि पढ्नलाई आलटाल गरि रहन्छ । एकदिन कमला रमेशसँग गृहकार्य सोध्न आउँदा मात्र आमाले रमेशले पढ्न मन नगरेको र गृहकार्य नगरेर विद्यालयमा शिक्षकहरुको कुटाई खाएको कुरा चाल पाउँछिन । त्यस कुराले रमेशकी आमा राधिकालाई छोराको सार्है चिन्ता लाग्छ । उनले सुत्ने बेलामा रमेशका बाबु गरिबीका कारण परदेसिन बाध्य भएको कुरा, आफ्ना श्रीमानले छोरालाई राम्रो शिक्षा दिक्षा दिने र हामीले जस्तो दुःख हाम्रो छोराले भोग्न नपरोस् भनेको कुरा सम्झँदै रुन्छिन् । आफ्ना श्रीमान् विदेश गएर पैसा कमाएर सुख काटौला भनेका हुन्छन् तर विडम्बना उनी दलालको फन्दामा परी दुःख पाएका हुन्छन् ।

यता रमेश आमासँग विद्यालय जान्छु भनि घरबाट त हिँड्छ तर  विद्यालय गएपनि शिक्षकले पढाएका कुरा बुझ्ने होइन कुटाइ मात्र खान किन जाने भन्ने सोचेर साथीहरुसँग खोलामा माछा मार्न जान्छ । रमेशकी आमाले मेलामा जाँदा काइँली, जमुना, सुन्तलीहरूसँग विद्यालयको पढाइ राम्रो नभएको कुरा सुनाउँछिन् अरु अविभावकहरूले पनि आफ्ना छोराछोरी पढाइमा कमजोर भएको कुरा बताउँछन् र विद्यालयमा कुरा गर्न जाने निधो गर्छन् । यता विद्यालयमा नयाँ गुरुआमा आउनुहुन्छ । विद्यार्थीहरूले अरू गुरु, गुरुआमा जस्तै त होला नि यी पनि भनेर सोच्दछन् । तर नयाँ गुरुआमा असल र माया गर्ने, खेलाएर पढाउने , बुझाउने खालकी हुन्छिन् । यसैबिच राधिका लगायत सबैजना प्रअ लाई भेट्न जान्छन् र आफ्ना कुराहरू राख्छन् । त्यसपछि प्रअले मिटिङ राखी सबैकुरा छलफल गर्छन् तैपनि दिनेश सर, बिमल सरहरू राम्रो पढाएको तर विद्यार्थीले नपढेको कुरा गर्छन् । तिमिला गुरुआमाले पढाउने तरिकाहरूज्ञ परिवर्तन गर्नुपर्ने कुरा राख्छिन्। जुन कुरा अरु शिक्षकहरुलाई मन पर्दैन । प्रअ लामाले पनि तिमिला गुरुआमाको कुरा सहि रहेको भन्छन्। विद्यालयमा खेल्ने कुराहरूको बन्दोबस्त गरिदिन्छन् । विद्यार्थीहरूलाई शैक्षिक भ्रमणमा लैजाने, अन्य क्रियाकलापहरू जस्तै, हाजिरी जवाफ प्रतियोगिता, कविता प्रतियोगिता आदि गराउन थाल्दछन् । विद्यालयमा बाल क्लवको स्थापना गरी सरसफाई कार्यक्रम , सचेतना कार्यक्रम  आदि गरी विद्यार्थीहरूले राम्रो कार्य गर्छन् साथै उनीहरूले पढाइमा पनि खुब मन लगाउँछन् ।

परिवेशः

यस कथाको परिवेशमा नेपाली ग्रामीण रमेशको विद्यालय, खोला, मेलापात र गाँउले परिवेश रहेको छ ।

‘हाम्रो स्कुल’ भन्ने बाल उपन्यास म सबैलाई पढ्न सिफारिस गर्छु किनकि यो पुस्तक ज्ञानवर्धक छ । यस पुस्तकमा विद्यार्थीलाई कुटेर, डराएर भन्दापनि उनीहरूका समस्याहरू बुझी विभिन्न शैक्षिक गतिविधिहरूमा संलग्न गराएर पढाउँदा उनीहरूले बुझ्ने र शैक्षिक नतिजा पनि राम्रो हुने कुरा प्रष्ट पार्न खोजिएको छ।

There was once a boy named Ricky. He was very intelligent and good looking. He was good at study, sports and also was good looking. Once, he went camping with his friends. There were 6 people in total and 2 were girls and the rest were boys. The names of the girls were Samantha and Riya. It was a mysterious jungle. He had gone to the campsite. Everything was going normal but when he touched Samantha their body got exchanged but the souls and memory remained the same.

Everybody was astonished. They didn’t know what was happening. Everybody got frightened and told each other to not touch anybody as it could be the key for the mysterious body exchange. Everybody started asking Ricky and Samantha about if they knew how it was done. 

Ricky told them that he had fallen into a lake and got soaked. He got a little dried while coming to the campsite and only his clothes were wet. When he touched Samantha their body got exchanged. Everybody was searching for the same lake but couldn’t find it. They all had called their parents and told them that they would be sleeping there only and might come tomorrow evening. Ricky and his friends started searching for the same lake in which Ricky had fallen thinking that by falling into the lake again and touching Samantha who is in Ricky’s body.

After searching for the whole night they found a weird place which was full of beautiful flowers. They also were very aware of themselves that they might not touch something else which may cause new trouble. Ricky, who is in Samantha’s body, went into the lake and touched Samantha who is in Rocky’s body. Nothing had happened but after a minute passed their body changed and thought that their idea was right. After their bodies got exchanged again they had also found an emerald. Rocky had taken it and was showing everyone.

A black creature which looked like a butterfly had come and took the emerald in an instant and started flying away. Ricky jumped as high as he could but couldn’t reach it. He heard a voice of his mom saying,” Wake up Ricky, get ready for school!”. Ricky opened his eyes and thought that it was a dream but in his hand there still was the emerald and thought it might cause him trouble so he threw the emerald in a river later.

 रङ्गी र चङ्गी फूल भएको सुन्दर फूलबारी 

साना काेपिला सप्रिने भाका नटिप्नु भुल गरी ।

मख्मली, चम्पा, गुलाफ, चमेली, अति नै सुन्दर फूल

फूलबारीका यी सुन्दर फूलका निकै रमाइला हुल ।

वातावरणलाई मोहित बनाउने मधुर सुवास

फरक जात फरक वास्ना निकै छन् मिठास ।

दिन र रात जति बेला नि चम्किला मुस्कान 

आँधी आए  नि पैराे आए नि खुसी छन् सुमन  ।

फूलबारीमा गएर मौरी फूलकाे रस चुस्दछन्

एकेक थाेपा  थाेर थाेरै गरी मह बनाउँछन् ।

विविध फूलकाे सङ्गम एउटै याे हाम्राे समाज

बगैँचाका ती  सुन्दर फूलमा  मुस्कानकाे छ राज ।

आँखालाई दिन्छ आनन्द अनि नचाउँछ तनलाई 

भँवरा गाउँछन् सुन्दर गीत हसाउँछन् मनलाई ।

आँट र साहस ऊर्जाले भर्छ थकित तनलाई  

पीडाअप्ठ्यारा वेदनाबाट छुटकारा दिनलाई ।

अघाउन्नन् आँखा रङ्गीविरङ्गी फूललाई हेरेर 

अघाउन्नन् पेट फूलकाे सुवास दिनभरि सुँघेर ।

This winter, my family and I went on a fun trip to Chitwan, Bandipur, Pokhara, and Manakamana. It was our best vacation because we got to travel in our own car for the first time. We had a blast exploring new places and trying new things.

We started our journey to Chitwan on a Sunday afternoon. We packed everything we needed and left at 2:30 p.m. The drive was supposed to take four hours, but since my dad was new to driving, it took us about six hours. We ate and chatted during the first hour, but the next two hours felt boring for me and my brother. After a meal in the fourth hour, I fell asleep and woke up the next morning in a cosy bed next to my mom.

I found out that my dad's maternal uncle had left Pokhara. When I asked where he went, my dad said he had to go to Kathmandu for some urgent work and took a bus early in the morning. So, he would not be with us for the rest of the trip.

The next morning, we got ready to explore a new place. 

बिहान यहाँ माछापुच्छ्रे त्याे हिमाल  हाँस्दछ 

सराङ्काेट डाँडा गहना लगाई सङ्गीतमा नाँच्दछ 

फेवातालको काखमा प्याराे हिमाल हाँस्दछ 

नेपालको चित्रमा यस्ले सुन्दर रङ भर्दछ ।

सन्ध्याकालमा शान्तिस्तुप डाँडामा हाँस्दछ 

रमणीय ठाउँ लोभ लाग्दो सहर निरन्तर बाँच्दछ

विन्दवासिनी देवता ढाेगी आशीर्वाद  लिने छन् 

पर्यटक आई रमाइलो मानी साैन्दर्य पिउँदछन् ।

सुन्दर सहर वर्णन गरी म धेरै थाकेँ  है

सुन्दर दृश्य मनकाे एउटा कुनामा राखेँ  है

बिहान उठी  फेवाताल देख्दा मन नै रमाइलो

सराङ्काेटकाे सूर्याेदय त हुन्छ झन् घमाइलो  । 

फरक भेष फरक जाति मिलेर बसेका

देवीकाे रूपमा झरना र तालले मित्रता गाँसेका 

रारा,बेगनास रूपा र फेवा क्या राम्रो देखेको 

मुहार झैँ झल्मल अन्नपूर्णले पाइला टेकेकाे । 

रमणीय सुन्दर  मुहारबाट हटाउँ बादल 

प्रकृतिकाे विचित्रताकाे रसिलाे आँचल

फेवातालको काखमा हिमाल हाँसेर बस्दछ 

नेपालको चित्र विचित्रतामा सुन्दर रस छ ।

Mina used to be a beautiful, joyful, well mannered little girl. She always greeted her relatives when they came over. She had a beautiful doll which she carried everywhere with her. It was like her child. She was very obsessed with her doll. One day, she felt a very sharp pain. Her parents took her to the doctors and the doctors examined her. After a few days the doctors gave her mother the report with a very sad face. The mother panicked. Her daughter had cancer. Her and her family were all devastated. They had little money and couldn't afford the treatment. They all tried everything to save their little girl, but because of the store policy, the treatment would be done only after payment. 

They lost their child. Mina’s mother and father were crying all day and night hoping to see their daughter for one last time. The mother was depressed. She couldn't stop hugging her doll. It was the only thing left of her daughter. One day, a strange thing happened, Mina’s mother found out she was pregnant. They did not plan for this to happen. After 9 months, they found out that the gender of the baby was a girl. They were happy. They realised that their new baby looked like Mina when she was just born. They gave her the doll that Mina always used to play with. Mira (their new child ) grew up looking exactly like her older sister. Her personality was exactly like her sister, her appearance, her favourite colour, favourite food everything was like her older sister. One day when Mira  was 10 years old, her mom saw her burying her doll in the same place they buried Mina. They cried together, overwhelmed by the bittersweet memories flooding back. Mira looked up at her mother with tears in her eyes and said, "I'm giving my sister her doll back. I know she's watching over us, and she needs it more than I do now." In that moment, the mother realised that Mina's spirit was living on through Mira, bringing them solace and healing their broken hearts. They hugged each other tightly, finding comfort in the love that transcended loss and connected them forever. 

As Mira gently placed the doll on the ground, she whispered, "I'll take care of her for you, big sister." The mother knelt beside her, holding her hand, feeling a profound sense of gratitude for this unexpected gift of resemblance and spirit. Together, they adorned the makeshift grave with flowers, a tribute to the bond that persisted beyond life itself. From that day forward, Mira carried her sister's memory in her heart, guided by an invisible thread of love that bound them together across time and space. And though they continued to grieve, they also found moments of joy, knowing that Mina's legacy lived on through Mira's kind gestures and gentle spirit. As the years passed, Mira grew into a compassionate and empathetic young woman, embodying the qualities that once defined her sister. She found solace in caring for others, just as Mina had cared for her beloved doll.
