My weekend at Kalinchowk
- Shreevani Dhungel - 2028054, ... 14 February, 2021

Last year on the 5th of Magh I went to Kalinchowk with my family. My father booked a jeep to travel. The day was beautiful, my mother also brought some homemade popcorn. We went from one jeep to another jeep. On the road there were many stones, it was a rocky ride. It was so fun after many hours we reached Kalinchowk. The road was slippery, we slipped so many times. And after that my mother got an idea, we wore socks not on the legs but on our shoes and we didn’t slip, wasn’t that a nice idea? By walking we came to a guest house and we got one room. At night there were so many twinkling stars we went out for a walk. There were some people sitting around the glowing fire. We also went there and then they started playing music. It was fun dancing. We ate our dinner. There was rice, dal, and cabbage. I finished dinner and went to sleep. My brother was sleeping with me. We made the bed very warm and my mother and father came to sleep but their bed was too cold. Another day we woke up and went to the cable car. It was a long line, my mother went and got the tickets and my leg started hurting so we went to rest for a while and after resting we went to the line it was still long. And after waiting too long we came to sit in the cable car and we went high then the clouds and we walked and after some time we came to a temple and saw the mountain and we went back and we went home. It took too long but it was worth it.

Sources of energy
- Eshita Shrestha - 2027024, Gr ... 09 February, 2021

We need the energy to do most of our daily work. As an example, we need the energy to cook food, boil water, milk, tea, etc. Energy is the capacity to do work. The required energy obtained by the sun, kerosene, coal, petrol, firewood, etc are called "sources of energy".

The substance from which energy is obtained is called the sources of energy. The sources of energy can be used directly or indirectly in our everyday life. They can be classified into two groups;

a. Non-renewable sources of energy

b. Renewable sources of energy

Non-renewable sources of energy

The sources of energy which cannot be replaced immediately after they are used up from their original place are called non-renewable sources of energy. Coal, petrol, diesel, etc are some examples of this type of energy. Coal and petroleum are collectively called fossil fuels. They are formed from the dead bodies of plants and animals in a period of millions of years. These sources of energy are limited in an amount in nature.

 Renewable sources of energy

The sources of energy which can be replaced immediately after they are used are called renewable sources of energy. Solar energy, hydroelectricity, biomass, biogas, etc are some of the examples of this type of energy. They are continuously obtained from nature. These sources of energy will never finish and can be used again and again.

 Forms of energy

We use different forms of energy in our daily life. Different forms of energy are as follows:

a. Mechanical energy

b. Heat energy

c. Light energy

d. Sound energy

e. Electrical energy

f. Magnetic energy

1. Mechanical energy

The energy possessed due to the virtue of its motion or it's position in rest is called mechanical energy. There are two types of mechanical energy: Kinetic energy and potential energy.

a. Kinetic energy

The energy possessed due to the motion of a body is called kinetic energy. A bullet fired from a gun, a speeding car, and a rolling stone possesses kinetic energy.

b. Potential energy

The energy possessed by a body by virtue of its position and condition is called potential energy. Potential energy is found in a stone lifted up in a compressed spring, in the water stored in a tank, the water of a lake, etc.

2. Heat energy

The total kinetic energy of molecules contained in a body is called heat energy. Heat energy can be found in electric heater, sun, fire, etc

3. Light energy

The energy which makes bodies visible is light energy. We can obtain heat and light energy simultaneously from the sources of light. Sun, candle, bulb, etc are some of the sources of energy.

4. Sound energy

Sound is a type of energy that is possessed by the vibration of bodies.Sound travels outwards to all directions from a vibrating body. Musical instruments are an example of sound energy.

5. Electrical energy

Batteries, cells, and dynamos are the main sources of electrical energy. The electricity which we use in our house is hydroelectricity. Cells and batteries change chemical energy into electrical energy. Electric bulb, torchlight, television are some of the examples of electrical energy

6. Magnetic energy

The property of attracting magnetic material like iron and nickel by a magnet is called magnetic energy.

Best Memory of this Year
- Eshita Lal Shrestha - 2027024 ... 02 February, 2021

This year was really memorable as in the very beginning of the year, the Corona pandemic had already started and the lockdown was imposed from the beginning of this year. Before the lockdown, I was really excited about my new school "Deerwalk Sifal Secondary School". Then all over the world the process called "study from home" started which means we could not go to school to study but we could study taking online classes.

I met my new friends and teachers in the online classes. I had a lot of fun with my friends, we would chat on hangouts after the classes and even tell the others when our class would start and if anyone did not get an invitation to the class then we would send the link of the online class on the hangout to help them. In my school, I have holidays every Saturday and Sunday and I feel like I am again in the nursery grade because when I was in nursery we used to have holidays every Saturday and Sunday. I have online classes starting from 9:50 am to 1:50 pm. We have each class of 1 hour and a half hour break  after every class. Because of the corona pandemic my family and I could not go out to tour different places but I am able to spend a lot of time with my family.

In lockdown my mother and father had to go out to work and I would often go with my father to his office. I have a lot of fun at his office. I can play computer games and watch videos on his computer so I really love going to my father’s office. Overall, I would like to say that this year I had a lot of fun and sometimes things were difficult too but I am very lucky that my family and I are safe and this is the best memory of this year for me that I had a great time with my family.

Environment Pollution
- Samyam Rai - 2028032, Grade I ... 28 January, 2021

The environment of our surroundings is very important for us. We get different things like air, water from the environment. Air and water should be pure for our good health. Sometimes, some harmful substances are called pollutants. They pollute air and water. When pollutants mix with air or water it is called pollution. Pollution is a major problem for the world. The garbage of the cities, wastage of industries, and smoke of vehicles are major pollutants. The noise of vehicles, industries, and loudspeaker is also a pollutant. Pollutants pollute the environment. There are many examples of pollution like air pollution, noise pollution, water pollution, etc. Air pollution, when smoke, dust particles, bad smell are mixed with air, the air gets polluted. The process is called air pollution. Bad smell and harmful gases are mixed by the garbage and decaying dead animals. It is very harmful to our health. We can also minimize them by growing plants, disposing of garbage in the right way; Dead animals should be burned as far as possible, etc.

Water pollution: Water is very important for us. It helps in many things. Drinking water should be germ-free. When water is contaminated with germs, water is polluted. Dead bodies of animals, washing clothes in water, bathing animals are major causes of water pollution. We can minimize them by Bathing and washing clothes away from water sources, not disposing of animals in rivers, lakes, ponds, etc. Noise pollution, the unnecessary sound is called noise pollution. Noise is also a pollutant. Noise is caused by loudspeakers, airplanes, and other vehicles. It causes deafness too. We can minimize it by not shouting, we should play music in lower volume, Vehicles should be lubricated properly, etc. We should save our surrounding environment from being polluted. We should minimize them. If our environment gets polluted It will be very hard for Living beings like us to survive.

मेरो जाडो बिदा
- Eshanee Manandhar - 2027007, ... 28 January, 2021
