- Sunabi Pokhrel - 25018, Grade ... 26 January, 2022

Florence Nightingale
- Sarjan Waiba Tamang - 24009, ... 26 January, 2022

“Live life when you have it. Life is a splendid gift-there is nothing small about it.” This quote was said by the greatest nurse of all time; Florence Nightingale, known as “Lady with the Lamp”. In short she helped to improve the standard and prestige of the nursing profession. She is also considered to be the founder of modern nursing.

She was born in 1820 in a wealthy family and she had always wanted to be a nurse. But her parents opposed her goal. At that time nursing was not seen as a respectful and attractive profession. Despite her parents' disapproval she became a nurse. In 1853 the Crimera war broke out. This bloody conflict led to many casualties on both sides. In that war It was noted that the basic wounded soldiers were dying unnecessarily.  Later on Florence and her old friend Sydney Herbert travelled to Crimea to organise a group of nurses. Florence started to run the campaign and started tutoring about nursing. She also trained the other nurses. She was helped in using nurses by Elizabeth Fry’s school of nurses. Her base was in the staffed hospital at Scutari. There were insufficient beds, food and the place was dirty. In the beginning of nursing, nurses were not even allowed to treat others, only instructed to clean the hospital.

But in the chaotic condition and the overwhelming casualties, the doctor took the help of Florence and her team of nurses. Florence's effort and her attitude which included strict discipline for her other nurses who wore a visible uniform were greatly appreciated by the wounded soldiers. The positive news report also came back home. During her time in the Crimea, she was recognized as “The Lady with the Lamp”. By the time she returned home, she had become a national heroine and was decorated with numerous awards which included one from Queen Victoria. After the war she didn't appreciate the fame but she started to work for the improvement of the hospitals.

With the help of donations to the Nightingale Fund, she was able to start a training school for nurses at St Thomas Hospital, London. In 1853 she also wrote a note on nursing. Her writings and examples were highly influential in the direction of nursing in the Nineteenth Century. In 1910 august 13 she said goodbye to this world.

- Yunil Ghimire - 24008, Grade ... 24 January, 2022

Life because of Covid
- Joya Shrestha - 25004, Grade ... 21 January, 2022

Covid started 2 years ago and due to it we are living a different life right now. We were not able to go school and only one option left was online school. Staying home and taking online classes was a great experience. This pandemic made me learn so many new things. Our life was completely changed. Not being able to go outside, our parents used to scold us because we were using electronic devices a lot but due to this pandemic we were forced to use these electronic devices. Without these electronic devices we were not able to study. We were forced to put on a mask but now if we don’t wear a mask it feels like something is missing. Studying online classes for more than 8 months and after that we had our physical education. Going to school after more than 8 months felt something new seeing my friends only from the screen and meeting them after 10 months felt special. Due to loneliness Covid also made many people's mental health really bad. Parents who didn't save money had a really tough time. Many people died due to hunger, many people died due to covid. Covid has really changed our life in a way where we had nearly spent most of our time inside our house alone using our device only. For some people life was easier but it was not easy at all. Many people's businesses went into loss. Covid hampered the lives of many people, hampered the life of students due to online classes and physical exams and which made the government cancel the exams. Many people lost their few years of study. Many people were not able to go abroad and had to stay here jobless and were not able to continue their studies. Lockdown became different for so many people. Some were having a great time with their families and some were starving from hunger. Many street animals were also starving. No one expected these things to happen covid became worse many people lost their loved ones. Covid’s 3 rd wave is found now. Covid made many people homeless. Covid made a huge loss of many peoples. Covid changed many lives and many people made their career through games. Online games were hyped and that made the people make their career. Due to lockdown many students were also not able to join the online classes because they didn't have electronic devices, a proper internet. Life was complicated. We had a new experience in our life. These technologies made our lockdown easier and due to covid we were and we still are living this life.

- Anushka Basket - 24001, Grade ... 21 January, 2022

- Simone Shree Pathak - 24006, ... 19 January, 2022

Susan B. Anthony
- Shuban Pradhan - 24005, Grade ... 19 January, 2022

Susan B. Anthony (1820-1906), the most famous suffragist of her period, has become a symbol of the women's suffrage movement. She gave speeches across the country, helped to build local women's rights organizations and circulate petitions.

Anthony was born in the Massachusetts town of Adams. After relocating to Rochester, New York in 1845, the Anthony family got involved in the antislavery effort. Antislavery Quakers met practically every Sunday at their farm, with Frederick Douglass and William Lloyd Garrison occasionally joining them. Later in the Kansas territory, two of Anthony's brothers, Daniel and Merritt, were anti-slavery campaigners.

Susan B. Anthony was a teacher in Canajoharie, New York, in 1848 when she became involved with the teacher's union after learning that male instructors were paid $10.00 per month while female teachers were paid $2.50. Her parents and sister Marry were among those who attended the Rochester Woman's Rights Convention on August 2, 1848.

Anthony's involvement with the teacher's union, temperance and antislavery movements, and Quaker background prepared him for a career in women's rights reform. The career would kick off with a meeting with Elizabeth Cady Stanton.

Amelia Bloomer met Elizabeth Cady Stanton on a street corner in Seneca Falls in 1851, and Stanton later recalled the encounter: "There she stood with her good earnest face and genial smile, dressed in gray silk, hat and all the same color, relieved with pale blue ribbons, the perfection of neatness and sobriety." I really liked her, and I'm not sure why I didn't invite her over for supper right away."

Although meeting Elizabeth Cady Stanton sparked her interest in women's rights, Lucy Stone's address at the 1852 Syracuse Convention is credited with persuading Anthony to join the women's rights movement.

Anthony spoke at meetings, collected signatures for petitions, and lobbied the state government in support of women's property rights in New York State in 1853. Anthony disseminated petitions advocating for the property rights of married women and women's suffrage. In 1854, she spoke at the National Woman's Rights Convention, urging greater petition drives. "I know slavery is the all-absorbing concern of the day," she wrote to Matilda Joslyn Gage in 1854, "but we must push forward this big basic question, which underpins all others."

By 1856, Anthony had joined the American Anti-Slavery Society as an agent, organizing meetings, giving speeches, hanging posters, and distributing flyers. She was confronted by violent mobs, armed threats, and objects hurled at her. Her image was dragged through the streets of Syracuse, where she was burned in effigy.

Anthony sat on the business committee of the 1856 National Women's Rights Convention, where he spoke about the importance of disseminating printed material on women's rights. She identified The Lily and The Woman's Advocate and stated that they were selling documents on the site.

By 1869, Stanton, Anthony, and others had created the National Woman Suffrage Association and were working on a federal suffrage amendment. Anthony and her three sisters voted in the 1872 Presidential election in an attempt to test suffrage. She was arrested and tried at Canandaigua, New York's Ontario Courthouse. The court gave the jury instructions to find her guilty without discussion and issued a fine of $100. Because Anthony declined to pay a $100 fine and court fees, the judge did not sentence her to prison, thereby ending her appeal. The suffrage campaign would have been able to take the issue of women's voting rights to the Supreme Court if they had won an appeal, but that was not to be.
