Mr. and Mrs. Yarby visit the Hatcher family, but Fudge's behavior makes them cancel a big deal. Fudge stops eating, and no doctors can help until Dad pours cereal on him in the bathtub out of frustration. Sheila finds where Peter and his friend Jimmy play with special rocks. Fudge tries to fly and knocks out his front teeth during an argument there. Fudge's birthday party is chaotic and shows that he's too young for big parties. On Saturday, the family goes to the dentist, buys new shoes, and has lunch together. Peter, Jimmy, and Sheila work on a school project, but Fudge messes it up. They redo it quickly and finish on time. Dad takes Peter and Fudge to his office while Mom is away. Fudge ends up in a commercial and later gets lost at the movies but is found. The story ends on a normal Friday, hinting at more adventures to come.
