The World Environment Day is celebrated on 5th June every year. It is celebrated all over the world. The main objective is to protect our environment from pollution, global warming, climate change etc. Many programs and functions are held on this day.
World Environment Day was declared by the UN General Assembly. The first World Environment Day was celebrated in 1974 in Spokane, USA. This is the day to spread awareness about protecting the environment. On this day, several activities are organised to highlight the importance of environmental protection. Every year, we celebrate World Environment Day with different themes and slogans. The theme for World Environment Day2024 is "Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience." and slogan for 2024 is “Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration.” We should work together to protect the environment and make our planet Earth clean, green and healthy.
