In Nepal, we celebrate Republic day on 28th May. Republic is the day when a country's ruler is overthrown by the people or citizens of the nation. Republic day is also termed as Ganatantra Diwas. We celebrate this day with great pride and happiness. It marks the date on which the first meeting of the Constituent assembly of Nepal took place. Republic day is celebrated with a military parade in Kathmandu. Small programs are also organised by various governments. Republic day in Nepal is celebrated to mark the establishment of Nepal as a federal democratic republic of a. After the abolishment of monarchy in 2008, Republic days signified the beginning of a new era of democratic government. Republic day is a very special day. We all celebrate Republic day.
