Nepal is one of those countries that is very rich in culture. Of the many festivals observed in Nepal, Budhha Jayanti is celebrated both by Hindu and Buddhist. We celebrate Buddha Jayanti because Lord Budhha was born in Nepal. Buddha Jayanti is celebrated on Baishak Shula Purnima, the occasion of the birthday of Lord Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. He was born to a royal family in Kapilvastu, Lumbini, Nepal. His father was King Suddhodana, and his mother was Queen Maya Devi. And his name was Siddhartha Gautama.

In Nepal, Buddha Jayanti is celebrated by devotees by waking up early, bathing, dressing in white cloth, and going to the monasteries to offer some fruits, candles, and many more. The people or the devotees follow the five precepts of Gautam Buddha. They are: not hurting anyone's life, speaking the truth, not lying, not to misuse the senses and avoid using drugs and alcohol. They are Lord Buddha’s teachings. The people visit many places on the day of Buddha Jayanti. They visit Maya Devi Temple in Lumbini, Boudhanath Stupa, and Swayambhunath Stupa in Kathmandu to worship Lord Buddha.
