The Clock on the Wall

The clock on the wall strikes in a normal room

It’s 8:30 in the morning and everyone’s there

The teacher takes the attendance and the class begins

Oh! but before that they did their daily prayer

The clock strikes again and it's the second period

Everyone’s waiting at the slowly ticking clock

To strike 10:30 eagerly waiting for the break

And so its 10:30 and everyone leaves the room

Well except for a few

10:40 and everyone’s back like ever before

Except a few who probably forgot the way back

Time moves on and some grow impatient

As their stomach is eagerly waiting for something

The clock strikes again at 12

Yet again everyone leaves the room except a few

All of them have their lunch

Talk about things they want to share on

Spending that extra bit of time

Exploring the places outside the confining room

Time movies on and so does the clock

As it slowly strikes from 1 to 2 to 3

And finally 3:30 when all are ready

With their bags all packed eager to leave this room

To go home

SO this went on for hours, days and months

The same old routine never to change

Except on some exceptional days or holidays

The clocked stroked and people moved according to it

Soon it was a year and slowly one by one

Everyone left and

The room was slowly turning into an abandoned room

Like any other abandoned room before

But the clock kept on striking everyday

Telling the time like how it did the whole year

The clock never ever ran out of batteries

And even surprising was the mystery behind how it worked

So the clock struck and struck and struck and struck hoping

to be useful

Till it finally struck the last time

Never to strike again!
