The jungle is the place where animals live. The national animal of the USA is the American Bison. It has two big horns and they take a mud bath. A mud bath is where the Bison rolls in the mud. I saw the American Bison at YellowStone National Park in America. It lives in a group. The color of the Bison is black and brown or just black. The baby of the Bison is called the calf. For the first two months of life calves are lighter in color than mature bison. They live for 15-20 years. Both male and female have thick fur. The Bisons fight with their strong horns. In winter they cuddle together so that they can stay warm. They keep the calf in the middle.

Bison are herbivores, grazing on grasses and sedges. Each day they spend two-hours grazing, resting and cud chewing. Currently there are approximately 400,000 to 500,000 bison in the world.  Getting closer to the bison is sometimes dangerous. It is recommended not to mess up with bison because they are very strong.

We should  live in harmony with all the animals including the American bison. We need to respect their habitat and territory.
