Forest is an area filled with many trees. It is the home for different types of animals and birds. Total 31% of the earth is covered by forests. Forest is the gift of nature. We get many things from forests like oxygen, firewood, medicine, and shelter. A human needs approximately ten trees to live a healthy life. Forests purify the air by collecting carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen. Forests also prevent natural calamities like floods, landslides and drought. Every year, 15.3 billion trees are chopped. To prevent the forest, the governments and organizations organize various activities to save the forest. We even celebrate International Forest Day on 21st March every year. Bhutan is the world’s first carbon negative country. 70% of Bhutan’s land is covered with trees. We should plant trees for a healthy life.
