Interesting facts about the Solar System

Our Solar system consists of the sun, planets and other objects. The sun is a giant ball of glowing gas. Among the eight planets, Mercury is the nearest planet to the Sun and is very hot. Venus is also known as earth’s sister. The earth is the only planet that has life on it. Mars is known as a red planet. Jupiter is the largest planet of all and has a red spot on it. Saturn has beautiful rings made up of ice and rock. Neptune is the farthest planet from the Sun. 

Pluto used to be considered as a planet but now it is called a dwarf planet.
