Dashain is one of the biggest festivals in Nepal and is mostly observed by Hindus. It is a happy occasion with a strong message of harmony and the victory of truth. Dashain usually lasts for 15 days and occurs in the month of Ashoj. The first day is called "Ghatasthapana," and the last day is called "Vijaya Dashami," commemorating Mata Durga's victory over a demon.

Rice, wheat, and barley seeds are generally sown during Ghatasthapana as a representation of fresh starts and fertility. The Tika ceremony, which is held on the day of Vijaya Dashami, marks the end of Dashain.

Families meet at their ancestral homes, or "mama ghar," for this ritual. They enjoy delicious food and wear new clothes. They put on tika and jamara and receive blessings from their elders.

Over all, Dashain is a very important festival that unites people in celebration and highlights the importance of unity and truth.
