Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris is an American politician and lawyer who has made significant contributions in both the legal and political spheres. She was born to immigrant parents on October 20, 1964, in Oakland, California. Her mother's name was Shyamala Gopalan who was a cancer researcher from India, and her father was Donald Harris from Jamaica. 


Kamala Harris attended Howard University, where she earned a degree in political science and economics. After that, she started to study law at the University of California., which is called Hastings College of the Law and was assigned as a deputy district attorney in Alameda County, California. She then pursued a law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and began her career as a deputy district attorney in Alameda County. In 2003, Kamala Harris became the District Attorney of San Francisco, she made history by being the first woman and the first African American to hold that position. During the time she was in power, she implemented various criminal justice reforms and initiatives aimed at reducing recidivism and improving public safety. She eventually succeeded in that. In 2010, Kamala Harris was elected as the Attorney General of California, becoming the first woman, the first African American, and the first South Asian American to hold the office. As Attorney General, she focused on issues such as combating transnational organized crime, fighting for homeowners affected by the foreclosure crisis, and advocating for criminal justice reforms.


She is one of the bravest of all women. In 2016, Kamala Harris was elected as the United States Senator from California. She also is the first South Asian American and African American to serve it. Still being the vice president to the day she also is the author and narrator of various books some of them are: The Truths We Hold, Superheroes are Everywhere and Smart on Crime: A Career Prosecutor's Plan to Make Us Safer.


She is a pretty famous writer as the present vice president. In the covid-19 period as Vice President, Kamala took on a wide range of responsibilities, including working on issues like immigration, voting rights, and COVID-19 relief efforts. Her role as a tiebreaker vote in the evenly divided Senate also made her a crucial figure in the Biden administration's legislative agenda. She was excellent at doing her work with pride. Her book, The Truths We Hold delves into Harris' professional journey as a lawyer and prosecutor. She shares insights into her time as a district attorney and attorney general in California, highlighting the criminal justice reforms and initiatives she pursued during her tenure. Harris provides a perspective on the complexities of the criminal justice system and offers her vision for a more equitable and fair approach.Kamala Harris's journey as the first female Vice President of the United States serves as a powerful inspiration to women and girls worldwide.
