Teej is celebrated by all Nepalese Hindu women. Teej is also named as ‘ Hartalika Teej’. It is celebrated in monsoon season by girls and women by singing songs, dancing, putting Mehendi on hands and feet, wearing red, green or yellow clothes, jewelry, and many more. Teej is dedicated to the goddess Parvati. Teej festival is celebrated for the well-being of spouses and children. This festival is celebrated for 3 days. The first day of Teej is called ‘Dar Khane Din’. The second day is called fasting day. The third day is the end of the Teej called ‘Rishi Panchami’.
