Immortality means living forever and never dying. In this world, none of the people are immortal. Some people die young whereas some die late. But since the Earth originated, there is no such organism that has lived forever.
Immortality is a kind of greed of humans. Everybody wants to be immortal but they don’t realize the effects of being immortal. Everybody takes immortality as an element that makes one live forever. Nobody takes immortality as a curse. They feel that it is a blessing. But in my point of view, immortality is a curse to human society. I have realized it since I read the novel ’Tuck Everlasting’. When we are immortal, we see other people dying. When we see our grandparents dying, we experience a huge heartbreak. Then, what will be the condition of people when they see all their loved ones dying? We learn many things in different phases of life. If our life stops at one point in time, we get to learn lesser things in comparison to the mortal people.
Thus, immortality is not a blessing but a curse. Life is a wheel, it goes on and on. Death is only a part of it. Being part of the wheel is the blessing.
