Teej festival is one of the most popular festivals in Nepal. This festival is celebrated for the long life of a husband. Unmarried women or girls also celebrate this festival for a good husband. This is also a religious, cultural, and social festival. It is celebrated for three days. The first day of Teej is 'Dar Khane Din'. On this day, all family members, especially women sing, dance, and have a grand celebration. The fun goes on till midnight. Dar Khane Din is celebrated as the eve of Teej.

The second day is called Teej. It is a fasting day. Women get dressed in red sarees or kurtas and visit nearby Lord Shiva Temple. They don't eat anything for the whole day.

The third day is Rishi Panchami.  On this day Sapta Rishi is worshipped.
