History Of Chinese New Year Festival

3800 years ago, originating the Shang dynasty (17th-11th century BC) ago there used to be a grand celebration at the beginning of the year to honor the heavenly deities. The year has been called “Menscience” in Chinese since the Zhou dynasty + (1046-256BC). 

There was a horrifying monster that got powers through the moonlight. That would always trouble the people and who was named ‘Nian’. As everything that has strength has a weakness. It was afraid of loud noises and the red color. The Chinese people fought against the fearful monster. So, In Chinese history, at the turn of the year, people decorate their house with red color and use fireworks to scare the Nian off. Later the turn of the year it has become a gathering -occasion for all the members of the family for feasting, etc. As the development, more food tradition and entertainment were also done in the Chinese New Year festival. It is also one of the longest holidays for a festival given in China and also the main festival celebrated in China.
