There are several people who took the credit of inventing burgers. One person from them was Mr. Charlie Nagreen, Frank Menches,  Charles Menches, Oscar Weber Bilby. However, most people believed that it was invented by a man named Louis Lassen from New Haven, Connecticut in 1900. When a hungry gentleman rushed into Louis’ small diner named Louis’ lunch. He was in a hurry and asked Louis to make him something quick and delicious to eat. Louis was the one who was known for his quick thinking and innovative approach to food, decided to make a sandwich that consists of ground beef patty served between two pieces of toasted bread. He added a few condiments and presented them to the hungry man. He was dedicated with the new creation. Thus, the hamburger was born. Then, the burger popularity quickly spread across the United States. With dinners and fast food restaurants like White Castles started adding their own twists in it.

Later, in the 1950s, the famous burger chain Mc’donald’s was founded, then they revolutionized fast food as burgers quickly became a staple of American culture. Although, Louis Laseen is often credited for inventing burger, historians debate on whether truly he was the first person to serve meat between two slices of bread. Thats because small dishes were served in other parts of the world, such as the hamburger steak in Germany & the beefsteak sandwich in England. On top of that, it turns out chopped meat served between the bread or outside of bread which is nearly as ancient as civilization. But despite its unclear origin, the hamburger remains a beloved and iconic dish that is enjoyed by peoples of all ages, all around the world. However, the burger's popularity has not been without controversies as it's often criticised for its high level of calories, salt and unhealthy fats, which can contribute to weight gain, heart diseases and other problems.

In recent years, there has been a growing trend towards healthier and more sustainable options. And eating a balanced diet that includes varieties of whole foods. We should eat burgers and other fast food but we should remember to balance it by eating lots of veggies.
