Last year in Mangsir 2076, we had a Social Life Skill Program. The topic of Social Life Skill was Earthquake Drill. We, the students of Grade VIII, had presented techniques of earthquake drill to the students of Grade IV and V. Some of our friends explained about the earthquake and few friends performed the drill (duck, cover, hold) and some other friends talked about how earthquakes occur (tectonic plates).

Firstly our two friends described the earthquake. Secondly, four friends showed their drill (precautions) to juniors. Lastly, three friends talked about the occurrence of earthquakes. The shaking or trembling of the earth is called an earthquake. The drills were performed by following steps i) Duck ii) Cover and Hold Plate tectonics is a scientific theory describing the large scale motion of seven large plates and movements of a larger number of smaller plates of the Earth's lithosphere. Few students asked questions and we were supposed to answer those questions. And we also gave some precautions of being safe from earthquake after earthquake. During the earthquake and before the earthquake, we must be calm during an earthquake because it may occur anywhere at any time.

We should always be ready to be safe from an earthquake. We should have patience and calm our bodies.

  1. Before an Earthquake: Keep the emergency essential items

  2. During Earthquake: Students should follow the drill duck, cover, and hold.

  3.  After the Earthquake : Do not scream or panic or run carelessly. Stay calm and careful.

We should stay prepared for our safety. We should take precautions to protect ourselves from the earthquake.
