UNFPA stands for The United Nations Population Fund. It is an international development organization under the UN that works in improving sexual and reproductive health and maternity care. Additionally, it deals with population, development and gender. More than 150 nations and four geographic regions get funding from the UNFPA for various programs. UNFPA was first established in 1969. It works in creating a world where pregnancy is necessary and needed, birth is safe and the youngster’s potential is met. Its headquarters lies in New York, USA. UNFPA has been continuously working to support pregnant women, against gender violence,, and population for many years. It provides reproductive health care to women in more than 150 countries which means they provide care to at least 80 percent of the world population. They provide more than 20 million birth control methods each year. They give training to health workers to ensure that at least 90% of deliveries are safe by other trained professionals. They help in preventing teen pregnancies, which are the main cause of death for females between the ages of 15 and 19 due to their health problems. One of the main priority is to end child marriage which have an impact on more than 50 million girls. They help in prevention of gender-based violence, which affects one in three women. They also deliver hygiene kits, safe birth supplies, and other important items to people affected by natural disasters and violent conflict. Not only that they also collect data, censuses, and analysis which are necessary for development. UNFPA collaborates with governments, other United Nations agencies, communities, NGOs, foundations, and the business sector to create awareness and mobilize the support and resources required in order to achieve its purpose of supporting the rights and health of women and young people. The Sustainable Development Goals, a collection of 17 objectives intended to change the world during the following 15 years, were unanimously accepted by the 193 member states of the United Nations in September 2015. These objectives aim to solve environmental damage, end poverty, inequality, abuse, and preventable deaths, and usher in an era of development for all people, everywhere.  The UNFPA collaborates with the government to create and handle these kinds of goals. Ever since UNFPA began their work the rate and number of women dying during deliveries and pregnancy has decreased by 50 %, families have become healthy and safe, young people’s objectives have been made which made them empowered and connected. UNFPA is still planning to make the world a better place. They are doing their best to achieve their goals. UNFPA has also collaborated with Nepal government, women and youth’s development organization to spread its mission. They began their mission in 1971. Sexual and reproductive health rights, gender inequality and women’s health are fields they are working in Nepal.
