Any naturally occurring solid mass of mineral matter that makes up the earth’s crust is called a rock. Igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks are the three types of rocks. Examples of igneous rocks are granite, pumice, etc. Examples of sedimentary rocks are limestone, shale, etc. Examples of metamorphic rocks are slate, marble, etc. There are also rocks called hard rocks and soft rocks. And also, many things are made of rock.
