As part of our term field trip, we the students of grades 8 and 9 were taken to visit the metropolitan police department. We were greeted by DSP Govinda Raj Kafle there along with supporting police officers. He gave us a brief insight into what the program was about and we were told about the new initiatives Nepal police department was taking. After sharing some knowledge related to trending problems in the society, we toured the police control room of Kathmandu valley. We watched how the 100 phone call worked and how to use the number. Some demo and the real-life incident was shown related to 100 phone calls. After that session, the respected DIG of Kathmandu valley Mr. Sailash Thapa shared his experiences with us. He informed us on how to stay safe and how to take the police’s help when needed. His charismatic personality and fun explanations had us all spellbound at the end of the day. I think this field visit was informative, fun, and would help us throughout our lives.
