Mount Everest is the tallest mountain in the world. Mount Everest is in Nepal. Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hillary climbed the summit in 1953 and they became the first climbers to reach the top of Mount Everest. The first woman to climb Mount Everest was Junko Tabai who reached the top of Everest in 1975. The first Nepali woman to climb Mount Everest was Pasang Lhamu Sherpa who climbed Everest in 1993.The Nepali name of Mount Everest is Sagarmatha. Mount Everest was named in 1865.
