Why Are We Still Using Plastics?

I think plastic should be banned because it harms the environment and the ocean. We use plastic every day as it has become a part of our daily life and we are using it more and more every day. But we use it without thinking how much it harms our environment. Our oceans are getting more polluted every day because of  plastic pollution. Many lakes and  ponds are polluted and  there is no life in these sources of water. Our oceans have millions and millions of pounds of trash and plastic in them.

There is plastic in everyone's homes. We all know what plastic is and we all know how harmful it is for our environment. As it has polluted our seas and oceans so much that even if we take out every single pound of plastic from the oceans and seas in the coming days there will still be tiny little unseeable pieces of plastic that would be very close to impossible to take out.

The animals that live in the seas and oceans are slowly going extinct because of plastic pollution as they get stuck in the plastic but with no one to help them get out they die. This is causing many species of animals to slowly go extinct in the coming years if we don’t take action and fast. Not only the animals but the coral reefs and  other sea plants that live in the seas and oceans are also dying off  and  our oceans and seas are becoming lifeless and colourless. With no animals in the seas and oceans and no colourful coral in the seas and oceans our future generation will never be able to see the full nature of our vast oceans and seas.

We all  know that plastic takes over a hundred years to decay so  over a hundred years from now we'll still  be finding plastic buried deep down beneath the soil because water pollution also causes soil pollution. So I do truly think plastic  should be banned and replaced with other substances.
