Tihar is one of the greatest festivals in Hinduism; it is also known as Deepawali and as the festival of flowers and lights. We mainly celebrate for five days. On the first day of Tihar, we celebrate "Kaag tihar," in which we worship crows. On the second day, we celebrate "Kukur Tihar," where we worship the dogs. On the third day, we celebrate "Gai Tihar'' in the morning and evening with "Laxmi Pooja" by cleaning houses, keeping the lights on, making the Rangoli, and making the path for Goddess Laxmi to enter our house and end it by worshiping with money, fruits, sweets, and flowers, etc. On the fourth day, there is the occasion of "Mhah Pooja," which will be celebrated by only Newar community members. On the same date, it is considered a Nepal sambat "New Year.''On the fifth day we celebrate " BhaiTika". Where sisters put seven different coloured tika to their brothers wishing them a good life and health along with a gift. Overall Tihar is a really nice festival where you can enjoy quality time with family as we have a holiday.
