The Path To Renewal

Here starts my journey,
A journey to cross the mountains.
It will take a while, for I have to cross
The forests vast and geysers like fountains.
I now come across the geysers,
Spouting columns of scalding water,
Relentless to all that try to pass,
And even to those who sought her.
I scurry along when the geysers calm down,
And set up camp on a foothill high.
For the dusk has covered the horizon,
And the forest I seek is nigh.
I wake up with the sun,
As the journey must continue.
And now I face the forest,
Vast and Misty with a deep green hue.
I then see two paths,
One paced a million times and the other long forgotten.
One led to a village, small and humble,
The other to the mountains, was the path only critters of the forest had trodden.
Many called me a madman,
And that I’m throwing away my life.
That the journey I take is hard,
And the place I seek is the edge of the Knife.
I know what I need to do,
My vision for my future is vivid.
The place I seek is a shrine of renewal,
And what I want to do with my life is to learn how to live it.
