Title: The Famous Five
Author: Enid Blyton
Illustrator: Eileen.A Soper
Genre: Adventures, Mysteries
Last year, I read a book named "The Famous Five." There were 3 siblings named Julian, Dick, and Anne who visited their aunt’s and uncle’s house on their holiday since they could not visit other places as there were a lot of crowds in the places they planned to visit. They were quite scared of their uncle as he seemed to be a cold-hearted type of person, but they were also eager to meet their cousin Georgina. But when they met Georgina, she was a bit rude, but after some days, when they started talking to each other, they felt comfortable. Georgina told them about the island, which her family owned. She also introduced her pet to them, Timothy, who was a dog, and when they all visited the island, they had to face many things but still managed to escape because of their strong teamwork and bond. They helped each other when needed. After facing all of those challenges together, they were finally able to make a name for themselves for the good and brave work they had done.
I really liked this novel as it was a very adventurous yet moral teaching novel. When I was reading this book, I kept on wondering what would happen next, and I had many expectations for the ending of this story even though the ending was not what I expected. I still liked it. It would have been great if Gerogina’s past had been explained more since I found the girl Georgina mysterious in the novel. And I think it would have been good if the dog’s past was also told. It would have been simpler and more interesting to learn about their lives.Besides, I really liked and enjoyed this novel.
As I previously stated, a few things could have been added to this book to make it more interesting to read. The illustration in this book was also good and unique because it represented the story or plot as well as the genre of this book.I like how the story of the novel is well plotted and how the characters have been given their own personalities. This book was quite understandable for me compared to some other books I have read in the past.
This was a very adventurous book that took us into the world of exploration. I would really like to recommend this book from the age of 7. I feel like this book should be read by everyone. Even though it may seem like this book is only about adventures, this book teaches us to be ready for anything that comes into our life or interrupts our life—new words, teamwork, etc. So, I would definitely recommend this book for others to read.
