Our National Heroes

As we know, ‘National Heroes’ are preferred to those who have done great deeds,service and his/her role in the country. There are 19 National Heroes. They are:-
Gautam Buddha, Amshuverma, King Janak, Sita, Araniko, King Rama Shah, King Prithivi Nrayan Shah, Balbahadur Kunwar, Amar Singh Thapa, Bhimsen Thapa, Bhanubhakta Acharya, Mottiram Bhatta, King Tribhuvan Bir Bikram Shah, Shankhadhar Sakhwa, Pasang Lhamu Sherpa, Mahaguru Phalgunanda, Laxmi Prasad Devkota, Bhakti Thapa, Jai Prithivi Bahadur Singh
Gautam Buddha was the founder of Buddhism.
Amshuverma helped in the development during the Licchavi period and made good relationships with India,China and Japan.
King Janak was a famous learned king of Mithila(Janakpur).
Sita is the daughter of King Janak and is considered as a goddess.
Araniko is an architect who helped with the relationship between Nepal and Tibet.
King Rama Shah was a great king of Gorkha and introduced measurements in a standard system.
King Prithivi Nrayan Shah was the founder of modern Nepal during the time when the British were ruling many of the countries.
Balbahadur Kunwar was the commander of Nalapani during the Anglo-Nepal war.
Amar Singh Thapa is known as the ‘LIVING LION OF NEPAL’.
Bhimsen Thapa built the Dharahara tower and was the first prime minister of Nepal.
Bhanubhakta Acharya was the first-ever poet and was known as ‘Adi Kavi’.
Motiram Bhatta helped to develop the Nepali language.
King Tribhuvan Bir Bikram Shah helped to keep an end to the Rana’s family rule.
Sankhadhar Sakhwa was the founder of Nepal Sambat from 1999AD.
Pasang Lhamu Sherpa was the first Nepalese woman to climb the summit of Mt. Everest and encouraged others.
Mahaguru Phalgunanda was a religious leader of the Kirat people and taught others not to follow animal sacrifice.
Laxmi Prasad Devkota was a great poet and is known as Mahakavi (poet the great)
Bhakti Thapa was a commander during the Anglo-Nepalese war  at the battle of Deutal.
Jai Prithivi Bahadur Singh was a visionary leader who focused on education, gender equality and many other progressive things ahead of time. 

In the history of Nepal, many people have made extraordinary contributions to the nation-building process that people will remember forever. Such personalities are awarded the title of "Rashtriya Bibhuti" or "National Hero" by the nation. Above mentioned all are the Rastriya Bibhuti of our country and we will remember them always.
