(Inspired by Gangubai Kothewali )

She was crying alone  on a gloomy day
She wanted to runaway but was forced to stay
She wanted to complain against everything
But thinking of the outcome made her shudder

The person she believed loved her the most
Sold her off as a blank sheet of paper
For his own selfish gain and benefits
He was willing to sacrifice her

Enduring the unspeakable she slept in a bed full of tears
Living a life she never wanted to be a part of
Yet she kept a hope for a speck of light
That tore the wall of darkness and unconfined her

She had enough and rose through the graves
She saw a speck of light that's shining far away
She chased it until the very end
Grabbed it with her suffering arms assuring to never let it go

But she didn’t get expected was bound from those chains
She looked backs saw girls suffering the same
She became their voice of hope
Assuring them her very best

She became a place where they felt safe
A place where they  felt accepted
Even after her departure they adore her
She became a candle that never went away .
