What are social evils? These are the issues that directly or indirectly affect society. In this case, an individual does not get their rights or does not get to enjoy the rights because of one or multiple reasons. Some social evils that we see in our society are child abuse, racism, gender inequality, caste discrimination, child marriage, untouchability, the dowry system and many more.
Child abuse occurs when  a child physically, mentally and emotionally gets torched, and does not get the proper care and right .
Racism is when one is discriminating or bullying another  on the basis of their skin color. Such a person is addressed as a racist.
Gender inequality is when one discriminates on the basis of gender. This is the act when a man and woman are not treated equally. This is mostly seen in our homes and localities. Even now, the female gender is not given equal respect and rights in our society, which is really shameful.
Next, the most seen social evil is caste discrimination, which is when one discriminates against another on the basis of their caste.
Child marriage is when a child is married before the age of 18 and in some cases she has to marry a person who is older than the child. The child has no choice but to marry the elderly person. This leads to giving birth at a young age, which can lead a child to death. Still, child marriage can be seen and heard in remote areas.
We need to protect our society from such kinds of social evils. Some of the preventive measures are:
The public awareness program should be held from time to time. The government should take strict actions against social evils. Everyone should have proper education about all social evils. By practising the above solutions, we can somehow protect our society from such evil acts. For that, we all need to go hand in hand for the changes.
