I lie on my bed, once again,
Staring at the ceiling.
In this dark room, eyes wide open,
Can’t shake off this uneasy feeling.
Out I go unto the roof,
Through the window of my room.
The breeze brushes on my face,
As I stare at the moon at full bloom.
Wondering how many people,
On this planet blue,
Are staring at the moon as well,
Taking a deep breath or two.
Bathing in the silvery moonlight,
I see a maiden dance.
Lord knows what she did to me,
‘Cause I fell into her trance.
She moved like an angel,
Smoothly twirling around.
As the clouds covered the moon,
She disappeared, nowhere to be found.
A fortnight had passed yet I could not forget,
The maiden I saw that night.
Every chance I get I wait under the stars,
Until the sparrows take their flight.
Was it just a beautiful dream?
Or perhaps it just was real.
I wish to see her one more time,
Who, now is my ideal.
