An elephant is the largest animal in the world. It has a trunk. It has a short tail on its back.It has four big legs, pillars, and two big ears. The male elephant has two long teeth called a tusk. They eat plant grain fruits and bananas etc. They are very clever and obedient animals. Elephants are found in Africa and Asia. Most elephants are found in grey colour. In Thailand, elephants can be white also. The average lifespan for Asian elephants is 48 years. African elephants are 70- to 80 years old . The average elephant height is 8.2 to 13. The Asian elephant's weight is 4,000 kg and the African bush elephant's weight is 6,000. A single elephant can eat 400 pounds of food and 30 gallons of water daily. Elephant skin is one inch thick and very sensitive. They can hear the sound from a long distance around 5 miles away. Elephants are very intelligent. have excellent hearing power and a good sense of smell but they have poor eyesight. Elephants never forget any event that happened in their life. Female elephants give birth to a single baby every four or five years. The baby elephants are called calves. At the time of birth the baby is 0.5cm tall and 120kg heavy.
