German Shepards are large, powerful, courageous and loyal dogs. They can be very gentle dogs and family protectors with proper training and socialization. They can be also be used for police work.
German Shepherds should not be left alone for more than 8 hours a day. They are easily bored so if they are left alone for that long, they may start engaging in destructive or problematic behaviour such as digging, chewing, and barking. German Shepherd will need a minimum of two hours of exercise every day. This should include walks and off-lead exercise in a safe area, with extra playtime and training on top to give them a good variety. Unlike other breeds, German Shepherds do not need to bathe often. It is best that they only bathe every 3-4 months. They get to bond well with the family children if started at an early age. German Shepherds have a lot of stamina and energy. They are intelligent and capable working dogs.
