Animals play an essential role in human life. They offer humans food and many other things. We consume meat, eggs, dairy products. Further, we use animals as a pet too. Animals have been with humans for centuries especially horses, wolves and dogs. They live in different habitats—they can be terrestrial or aquatic. My favourite animals are dogs, cats, elephants and horses. People love having pets as friends. They call dogs “Man’s best friend”.
Some interesting facts about animals are:
1. Fleas can jump 350 times their body length.
2. Hummingbirds are the only birds that can fly backwards.
3. Crocodiles cannot stick their tongues out.
4. Starfish do not have a brain.
5. Slugs have 4 noses.
6. Only female mosquitoes bite.
7. Polar bear skin is black!
8. The only mammal capable of flight is the bat.
9. A dog’s sense of smell is 1000 times greater than a human!
10. Cats have 32 muscles in each ear.
All animals play an important role in the ecosystem. So, we need to protect them.
